Gyasi (Pronounced Jossy) seems in many ways to spring from another planet, and being raised in the woods of a West Virginia holler might as well be another planet in this day and age. In such an isolated unique environment he developed a wide range of interests in art and music and has now brought them together to create an enigmatic rock n roll persona.
Writing and recording his first EP and debut full length himself, Gyasi straddles somewhere between solo artist and a full on rock n roll band. His live shows are intense and unpredictable and led by a theatricality that not only delivers but portrays the music.
With thunderous riffs, masterful guitar work, and songs that celebrate self-realization with cues from Lou Reed and David Bowie, Gyasi is taking the essence of theatrical rock n roll and adding an exciting new voice to it.
