Approximately 50,000 singles were released in the UK during the nineties. With five weeks at the top, the twentieth most successful release of that entire decade was ‘The One and Only’, the lead song from the soundtrack of the film “Buddy’s Song” sung by a 19 year old Chesney. The song has gone on to be the subject of numerous compilation albums, TV ads, TV theme music, film soundtracks and, now a student anthem, continues to top ‘Best pop song of the nineties’ polls.
Chesney has worked with writers and producers from a broad section of the industry, among them Mark Goldenberg (The Eels), Jesse Valenzuela (The Gin Blossoms) and Counting Crows producer Marvin Etzioni. Other collaborators include Howard Jones, the Police’s Stuart Copeland, Nik Kershaw, Bijou Phillips and more Rob Davis (co-writer of Kylie’s Can’t Get you out of My Head). Lady Low is a rock sextet comprised of Jimmy Sweet (vocals, guitar), Rachel Maxann (vocals, synth), Eden Lee (vocals, drums), Kaitlin Wolfberg (violin), Corinne Olsen (violin), and Mia Maria Siler(viola). In the back of his mind, Jimmy had always wanted to start a band that combined love’s passion and old school rock and roll, and after returning to LA by way of London he formed Lady Low. Rachel found her way to the city of angels after spending some time in the Big Easy. She brought aboard her old friend Eden, and after enlisting local string talents Kaitlin, Corinne, and Mia, the world’s first romance rock group was born.
Samuel Jack was Raised on Blues, Motown and Soul music, BB King and Etta James provided the soundtrack for Samuel's formative years in London before moving to England's south west. A self-taught pianist of only two years, Samuel was a late starter - but quickly went on to showcase his own brand of contemporary soul and pop playing local and regional shows including this year, opening Glastonbury on the Avalon Stage. Samuel has featured in several US TV shows including Nick Hornby's 'About A Boy' and current hit show.
