PWR BTTM - Big Beautiful Day

PWR BTTM’s latest video is the invitation to self love and appreciation we all need right now.

Self-described as the “‘best frenemies’ who favor hugs over handshakes and leave a trail of glitter wherever they go,” beautiful humans Ben Hopkins and Liv Bruce played 108 shows last year. That’s one show every three to four days. We honor such immense dedication and consistency they put into their music. We are happy to see their hard work got paid off by getting featured on Billboard, VEVO, NY Times, Pitchfork, The Fader and more.

The space and the energy that PWR BTTM create through their music is welcoming and transcend boundaries. Imagine in a room with people of high energy, and sprinkled with glitter and happy colors. It feels like to be with Ben and Liv, we are safe in this crazy world. You don’t have to act in a certain way or put on crazy outfits. You can be a part of what they are if you want to.

In “Big Beautiful Day,” they create a sense of self-empowerment in facing hostility without compromising. Take a closer look at their powerful yet honest lyrics: “Curse that motherf**ker who would spit upon another's body. Who the hell gave you the right to tell me that I'm wrong? Curse every one of you who tells me that I cannot be who I want.”

The self-love PWR BTTM preaches also includes compassion towards who do not accept them. “There are men everywhere who cannot help but stare when they see you because they cannot understand,” Ben sings. “Within those men, there are boys who have never had the choice but to grow up and be scared to be your friend/ Jesus Christ, let’s help them.” So much love.

Don’t change. Just wake up. This incredibly beautiful duo will leave you feeling radiant and fabulous if you’d let them. Like what Ben sang, “ain't no f**king way [anyone will] f**k up [your] big beautiful day.” While “we cannot help but stare” at Liv deliciously tasting his waffles, let’s also allow the personal lyrics to touch our hearts.

  • MILLY - "Bittersweet Mary"
MILLY - "Bittersweet Mary" “I think about death all the time.” Almost ironic for someone called Brendan Dyer. Principal songwriter and singer of the indie rock, shoegaze band MILLY, Dyer lays his hushed vocals over a bed of heavy guitar riffs while singing about both love and death. In their freshly released third LP… Read more

DREAM THEATER, NIGHT TERROR When the video for "Night Terror" was released, I did myself the injustice of reading a ton of related social media posts prior to listening to the track out right. I saw everything from 'Best Song Ever' to 'Total Disappointment' and everything in between. Who would have thought a new… Read more

The Hu's music video for their cover of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" is a captivating fusion of cultures and sounds, marrying the raw power of heavy metal with the profound depth of traditional Mongolian music.
