Los Angles has played supporting actor in thousands of music videos, playing second string to a slew of bands and artists for whom the city is a back drop, a playground, if you will. Kisspanic’s “Otra Historia En El Mar” manages to capture the essence of city in a way that very few artists do They manage to capture Los Angles not just as a living breathing film set, but rather as to place to live and do some business.
Whether or not this is intentional is completely lost on me, because unfortunately I do not speak Spanish, but the Kisspanic has posed poised themselves to be the Hispanic prog rock band you never you knew needed. “Otra Historia En El Mar” is a serious banger. The hook gets catches you and holds on tight, the way only Los Angeles born rock n’ roll can. There is an impending rock revival in this city, and with the Latinfuturism music moment we are experiencing in LA right now, Kisspanic is the band for the new millennium.
Come check out this Hunnypot approved trio at our Labor Day Hunnypot Party on September 3rd. Because, are you really going out of town?
