Formed in 2017, this 4 piece Los Angeles band is bringing back synth pop with a twist of 90’s Nostalgia. Members consist of Freddy Hale as Front man and vocalist, Cadu Costa as Drums, Collin Keller as Guitar, and Alex Pitta as Bass. They’ve been featured on the Youtube Channel “Music Human”, which is dedicated to recording live studio sessions of local LA artists. They’ve also recently played at the Resident hosted by Breaking Sound Los Angeles and have an upcoming show at Erwin House.
Their most recent single, “American Heartache”, is probably one of my favorite songs from The Sway. The music video opens up with the boys inside a boxing ring, and they're wearing these glorious white jumpsuits. As the video progresses, they boys go from jumpsuits to fighting inside the ring against one badass chick. This song is catchy from the very beginning and it keeps you hooked with its synthy guitar riffs, punchy drums and Freddy’s amazing vocals.
I hate to say it, but, this is one of those bands that are low-key underrated. Their music is phenomenal and I honestly wish more people knew about them. If you haven’t heard of The Sway check them out on all their social media platforms and don’t forget to hear “American Heartache” on Spotify. See them perform at Hunnypot's Live at The Mint party April 13th 2020.
