RMR - RASCAL

Mystery artist RMR (pronounced "rumor") created controversy with a single and video for "Rascal" a few weeks ago.  The song is a lyric re-write cover of the Rascal Flatts (and other artists) hit "Bless The Broken Road".  In RMR's version he sings about how someone as hard as him has been hurt by love too. The video seems a little contrived to prove "hardness" and leaves questions about the authenticity of the artist.    Initially the music publisher(s) that controls the copyright for the composition "Bless The Broken Road" had the video pulled for infringing on the composition.  After a lot of backlash including from some industry executives the publishers seemed to have relented.  RMR is keeping his identity a secret for now and the recent global news seems to have eclipsed this viral hit story.  It's a familiar melody so it's catchy no matter the intent. Check it out.
