SWITCHFOOT, I NEED YOU (TO BE WRONG)

I’ve been a fan of Switchfoot for such a long time and really in the most recent years, I have been really impressed with all of the music they have put out. On May 13th, Switchfoot did it again with “i need you (to be wrong)” and slam dunked the music video. One thing I admire them for is their creativity.

I can’t confirm or deny if this video was created with an actual film camera or not, but they did an amazing job making it look like it was. The double exposure effect they went with was executed so well. Having each other in their silhouettes was such a cool look for this song.

Jon Foreman is one of my favorite front men because of the way he writes, sings, and the energy he puts into his music. He said they wrote this song almost 10 years ago and that it started to speak to them in ways that it had never done before and so they began the process of finishing it. Pretty cool story for an awesome song and video. Check it out!

TH' LEGENDARY SHACK SHACKERS - RAWHIDE! The memory of the great West spends its time roaming the lonesome road of sub-pop culture searching for its comeback. Though its rough and tumble days of wild lawlessness sometimes seem like a wholesome footnote in our history compared to the cyber anarchy of the 21st century, there are still… Read more

  • Zeus Rebel Waters - "LUV"
Zeus Rebel Waters - "LUV" I have a soft spot in my heart for women on the pole, but an even softer spot for Zeus Rebel Waters. Tuning his usual rasp toward the traditional trap beat, the one word that can describe his 2020 single “Luv” love is, “classic”. The simplicity of the song’s intention… Read more

  • SHY & D.R.S feat. JOSH SETTERFIELD - "FLEX"
SHY & D.R.S feat. JOSH SETTERFIELD - "FLEX" Country has long been a polarizing, impenetrable genre subjugated to the “but..” of the sentence, “I listen to everything,”. In a time where cross-pollination is the only way to stay current, it's also a genre that has maintained its air of sovereignty, managing to slyly subvert the popsphere by pivoting… Read more

MILA SMITH - LIARS & FAKES It can take some people a lifetime to learn how to spot the fakers, but at only sixteen Mila Smith has turned her bad friend blues into a banger. “Liars & Fakes”, the debut single from the South African songstress, is a soulful bop descended from disco edits of yore,… Read more

XHAANIA - PULL UP The last party you attended may feel like a midday dream from a far off time when feeling yourself included nails done, hair done and everything did.
