When I first watched this video, memories of that horrific day at The Station Nightclub back in February 2003 immediately flooded back. So many died, so many were injured, rock concerts as we knew them changed forever. Although not written specifically written by Dee Snider for the upcoming documentary, America’s Deadliest Rock Concert: The Guest List, "Stand" ended up being a solid choice for inclusion based on the track and it's uniquely powerful lyrics. Add in David Bellino's magic behind the camera (including stunning documentary footage), and "Stand" immediately pulls at the viewers heartstrings and puts into perspective that fateful evening nearly 20 years ago. Aside from all of that, what touched me most was Snider's powerful vocal delivery of these lyrics and and how he brought them to life throughout the entire video. His performance immediately awoke powerful emotions in me that I had been long since buried, and allowed me to peacefully reflect on those who lost their life that fateful evening. That's the magic of music, and Dee Snider's impact couldn't have been more welcoming (and needed) in the current world we all live.
