There’s a new music video out from the up and coming rock band, Classless Act. It’s “chalk” full of powerful vocals, guitar solos and - a hip hop verse? That’s right. On June 24th, 2022, Classless Act released their breakthrough debut album Welcome to the Show. To celebrate their one-year anniversary, the band invited hip-hop legend, DMC of Run DMC to write an original verse on their new, special release version of “Storm Before the Calm.” And if you’re wondering if Darryl “DMC” McDaniels makes a knockout appearance in the new video? You’ll just have to see.
The video starts off with a soft, ethereal sound reminiscent of a sweet, 80’s rock ballad. You are immediately pulled into the octagon, which doubles as a stage. As the video amps up, you go on a journey through the gym. The camera jumps between the rock band’s energetic performance and a training montage, equipped with comic book graphics and a final fight scene.
It’s a fun video that not only celebrates a year of success for Classless Act, but also showcases a sense of unity through music across different genres and generations. Long live Derek Day, the legend DMC, and Classless Act!!
