The NAMM Show is the convention people flock to when it comes to the new musical merchandise that is coming out during the year. From the instruments to the pedals, audio tech gear, amplifiers, etc., they got it all. What is not talked about enough is the fashion. Not everybody who comes to NAMM dresses up, but there is a handful of guests who love to let out their inner “rock star” look. To me, fashion and music go together like spaghetti and meatballs. It begs to question, why the hell is it not promoted at NAMM? Well, that all changed with the first ever catwalk fashion show at NAMM. The lucky company is none other than Riot Stitch Rockwear. I have seen their stage wear attire being promoted on Instagram and thought the outfits were bold and colorful thanks to the vision of designer Sherri Lu. For NAMM, this is a huge deal, and Rabit & I got to play a small part in spreading its rock ‘n’ roll fashion glory.
The catwalk was an impromptu walkway right in front of the Riot Stitch and Ellefson Coffee booths, crammed with photographers, writers, and fans. It may have been a tiny walkway, but that did not stop the models from strutting down in their best Riot Stitch clothing. From Heather Leather to Lindsay Ferrari, Baby Doll Vikki, London Holley, Mickey Lyxx, Clio Cadence, Jacob Stibbie, Zeus, Jade Vitriol, Trashy Annie, and even Sherri herself, people stormed over to the booth to get a glimpse of the future of Rockwear. Rock legend and Riot Stitch supporter/wearer Michael Starr of Steel Panther also got in on the runway action. Acting like a true rock star, he was a fashion icon that day. The outfits that were displayed for both male and female was daring to say the least. There were a couple of shirts I would be interested in and possible a pair of pants, but I still need to slim down a bit before I can rock those rad duds. That just gives me something to shoot for in the future. The fashion show was a huge success, thanks in part to the stellar promotional work of Raquel Figlo. Fashion never looked more rock ‘n’ roll than it did at NAMM. To Riot Stitch Rockwear, I salute you. Horns up!!!
