With only 4 songs out and about 3000 followers, this North Carolina based Artist is making a name for himself. Especially with his most recent release, “Heybb!” which has over 12K views on YouTube.
If you don’t know who I’m talking about, he is 22-year-old Binki!
Binki's unique style is probably what makes “Heybb!” such a catchy tune! Funk is strong with this one! When listening to this tune you can sense an indie and funk infusion. During the opening, you are met with a favorable funky bass and rhythm guitar chops and that classic 70’s snappy snare! Binki is so talented and underrated! How? I can't even understand?! However, this may all change soon! Just this year, Complex.com picked Binki as one of the “Best New Artist of 2019”.
“Heybb!” is the funky breath of fresh air that 2019 needed, and let me tell you, folks, this isn't your ordinary funk tune! Heybb! enters your headphones with such a funky bass, and a creeping Tambo that you can’t help but to feel like dancing. The video opens with Binki in a blue suit singing into a retro phone and expressing his feelings to a woman over voicemail. If you listen closely to the lyrics, it appears that the video and song take place after a wild night in New York City. Almost as if this woman ghosted Binki! Yikes, who likes being ghosted?! As the video continues, you see Binki and his lady mannequin strolling through New York City and as the beat transposes so does the video. We are definitely in love with this tune, so much that it's been featured a few times at our Hunnypot Live DJ sets and we can’t wait to hear what Binki comes out with next!
