ALBUM REVIEW - TECH N9NE, ENTERFEAR - LEVEL1

Written by

I am not sure that Tech N9ne is human.  Really.  This guy’s work ethic is second to none and continues to release new music at unbelievable pace that surpasses everyone in the hip-hop industry (and beyond).  We were just blessed with N9NA back in April and here we are again with a preview of things to come in 2020. After taking his latest, ENTERFEAR – Level 1, for a spin last night, I can honestly say that Tech N9ne is in a league by himself with no signs of slowing down any time soon.  He’s not just a rapper, but an artist – and one of the very best to ever hold a mic.

Although many might wonder why Tech and Strange Music would release an EP now as opposed to waiting until next year for a full release, you probably don’t know Tech very well.  This guy is all about providing high-quality tracks to his fans and does so on his terms.  Personally, I find his approach refreshing in a scene that is in many cases is pre-programmed years in advance.  The randomness of these releases keeps Tech’s delivery sharp and his fans happy – and that’s what counts at the end of the day.

So, what about the actual tracks on ENTERFEAR – Level 1?  Well, all I can say is that the five-tracks included on this one is straight fire.  These are not filler songs, but intense tracks that seem to have deep meaning for Tech which bleeds out throughout the EP.  Although all tracks are banging, one of my favorites is “Feel So Sad”.  This one seems to highlight Tech’s incredible belief in diversity and acceptance while highlighting the closemindedness that so many people suffer from today.  It’s a killer jam that I’m sure you’ll find yourself playing over and over.  I also am digging “B.I.B”, a jam that he collaborates on with Krizz Kaliko.  Kali’s vocals are smooth and powerful and add to an already intense song that resonates from play one.

At the end of the day, Tech N9ne has done again and continues to challenge the establishment with another killer EP filled with solid, meaningful music.  There’s no drop off here, just a continuation where N9NA left off that will please new and old fans alike with a sound that’s like no other in the industry today.  Tech and Strange Music have blazed their own trail of independence and in many cases are on the outside looking in when it comes to many of the mainstream media awards.  That’s a shame because his music is unequivocally better than the majority of his hip-hop counterparts and he get zero credit for it.  Fortunately for Tech N9ne, his true fans get it and they will absolutely love ENTERFEAR – Level 1.
