Marcio is one of the premiere R&B singers/songwriters emerging out of Los Angles, California. Last week's Monday night featured one of LA's top rising indie rock acts, BIZZY KIDDO who hit the Hunnypot crowd with a soothing set of chill, yet upbeat, indie-pop rock. Next up was Atlanta, GA based pop rock duo, MAGNETS & GHOSTS whose chilling, pop ballads were quite a delight to all. LA based female singer, DJ, Producer, HENRI dropped an infectious dj set of catchy electronic jams that meshed perfectly with her unique vocal stylings. Closing out the night was LA's own Elyse Haren and her band, ELYSE & THE AFTERMATH who stole the show with their electro infused, acoustic pop songs that feature both retro and modern elements.

Bizzy Kiddo is a local Los Angeles band that formed in 2011. The growth in their indie rock sound has sparked the beginning of their touring career, including a sweet gig lined up at The Echo this September after joining us here at Hunnypot. The new buzz band Magnets and Ghosts is a duo that hails from Atlanta, Georgia. The two collaborators, Dean Roland and Ryan Potesta, met in 2007 through various high profile projects they were both involved in and in November 2011, they released a full length album of their own work. With a mystic air, distinctive vocals and candid lyrics, singer/songwriter Elyse Haren and her Los Angeles based Alternative Pop band, Elyse + the Aftermath, are making retro, modern. Sad Robot is a three-piece band that has brought the sweet sounds of indie-pop-rock music to Los Angeles and beyond since 2011. Following the release of their debut album, their tunes have been placed in the hit TV shows Bones and Bad Girls Club, as well the 2013 Winter X Games (among others). Sad Robot’s motto “fight or die trying” is apparent in their music with songs of struggle, hope, and the constant race we are all in.
Young Beautiful in a Hurry formed in Los Angeles in 2011. Frontman Brendan McCreary and bandmates Bryan Taylor, Chris Norton, and Pete Griffin create a highly acclaimed sound of classic rock influenced by Queen, Bowie, and Elvis. Their newest record, the Royalty EP, was released this March.

Rachel joined The Asylum in 2012 as an editor in the post-production department. She edited several films for the Syfy Channel, including Sharknado. In 2013, she moved to the marketing department, where she currently works as the Marketing Materials Coordinator.
Rachel has cultivated long-standing relationships with a number of bands in LA’s independent music scene. She quickly saw the opportunity to place independent local music in The Asylum’s films. Under the guidance of the head composer, she created and stepped into the position of Music Supervisor. Rachel has placed songs in Animal Planet’s Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys, Airplane Vs. Volcano, The Coed and the Zombie Stoner, and Syfy’s upcoming Sharknado 2: The Second One.

Mike Turner is an LA based music supervisor, editor and music producer for film, television, advertising and trailers. Mike also currently serves as Creative Director at IP asset management firm CH Music Investments LLC. As a music supervisor, Mike found his niche in Los Angeles and lately works on most projects independently. Currently Mike oversees all production of music for The World Poker Tour on Fox Sports and “Wheels & Reels” on The World Fishing Network.
Listed in Music Connection Magazine as “one of the best unsigned bands to see live” three years in a row (2011-2013), The Big Bang are an up and coming soul shakin’, groove makin, alt soul band from Los Angeles CA. With a sound combination of Amy Winehouse + Sam and Dave + Fitz and the Tantrums, The Big Bang has hit the scene with their unique and alternative take on southern California soul.
Finishing their last year of education at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, the band became friends and began developing their diverse image and unique sound. THE ECHO AND THE SOUND is a two piece, guitar and drums band, based in Los Angeles, CA. formed in late 2012; BRIAN RICH (guitar/vocals) and DOUGLAS JEWELL (drums) made it very clear early on… “YOU CAN’T KILL US UNLESS WE QUIT.” With punk rock overtones, blues-folk undertones, country-esque and gothic cantina styled, their sound has been described “as if Bob Dylan and Sam Shepard got into a fist fight while drinking in a desert cantina.”

Now in Venice Beach, Joslin has truly narrowed in on his “California Soul” sound. On any given day you can find him serenading drifters along the Venice boardwalk and see people of all shapes and sizes dancing along to his mellow rhythm. Playing songs from his latest release, Come Out West, a blend of Stevie Wonder’s Motown groove, dripping with Brian Wilson-esque harmonic arrangements, he has encapsulated the feel good, California sunshine music he always dreamed of making. To top it all off, Joslin produced, wrote, mixed and mastered the entire album. He even designed the album artwork.
Somehow in the midst of all this he still finds time for one more dream. “I always wanted to be a Beach Boy: live by the beach on the west coast, play music, create art and surf…I’m doing all that and more now. Anything from here is just icing on the cake.” From one dream to the next, Joslin’s art explores the idea of life as an adventure, love, and the pursuit of meaningful relationships in hopes that it’ll inspire you to experience life the same way.

If you are interested in the most famous band of all-time from every state. You need to know Teenage Bottlerocket. Hailing from Wyoming, Laramie Wyo. to be precise. The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, in 2000. The Lillingtons guitarist/co-vocalist Kody Templeman joined in with Miguel Chen solidifying the line-up on bass guitar. Teenage Bottlerocket's music was heavily influenced by punk rock acts The Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Green Day, Bouncing Souls, and Misfits.
Now, 18 years later the band has released six full length albums as well as a 2006 Live LP and 2017 covers LP. They’ve toured the world as an opening act for Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, NOFX, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and are now currently headlining their own tours with a rabid following in Europe and the US.
