BMI sponsored the 2008 SXSW Film Festival kicking it off with the “BMI Presents: Music for Film” panel moderated by BMI’s Doreen Ringer Ross. The panel focused on the process of putting music to picture, how filmmakers and composers find the right music for film as well as licensing and budgeting issues and advice.

HUNNYPOT RADIO #109 – 2-4-08

The DJ sets carried the load of the show, with Hot Tub Johnnie, PJ Bloom,  Stacee Coleman, and Manny Montiel. We talked music with Jenni Alpert, and politics with Serj Tankian. The show ended with a blistering live performance by Far East Movement.

Far East Movement hit the floor just before "Like a G6" took over the world, and the energy was unreal.

Serj Tankian (System of a Down) stopped by for a rare and powerful interview, sharing thoughts on his solo work and activism.

Jenni Alpert delivered a couple songs that showcased true songwriting craft, and shared her origin story as an actress.

One of those nights where the room buzzed with talent, discovery, and future legends.
