Emerging from an 8-year hiatus, Fischerspooner has released their first new single since 2009. Prefacing their new album SIR, "Have Fun Tonight" is a dance anthem that has house meets disco elements mixed with trappy hi hats and a melodic chorus that ties it all in.
The visuals accompanying the record show a slow moving, blurred crowd of club-goers dancing as an man observes and contemplates temptation. Pitchfork describes the music as “…a queer dance ballad about polyamory (...or polyagony) encouraging your lover to go out and have fun without you.” The song was co-written and co-produced by Michael Stipe and Boots. In addition to the album being released September 22 via Ultra, Fischerspooner will also host a museum show called SIR that will exhibit at MUMOK in Vienna. This show will run from June 29-October 29 and will be accompanied by an art book showcasing the exhibition highlights.
