courtship. arrived on the scene in late 2016, when both Eli Hirsh and Micah Gordon left former rock band Bloodboy; the vampire sounding band to start a whole new project from scrap. Both rockstars left to mainly focus on writing and production. For years they have supported the local L.A indie scene performing in various bands like Dreamers and more.
They began taking out singles in 2016 steadily growing a new fan base, and they have not been letting their followers down. courtship. recently released a new track taking their fans on a trip down memory lane that only old timers might remember. The music video for “Guy Stuff” takes you back to that baby boomer era with a greatly adapted music video that is a great representation of the 50’s with dancing and badass choreography-- with a bleak ending that feminists might probably enjoy. The song is getting much love and appreciation from playlists all around including Spotify, which the song was added to their new music Friday playlist. It is also getting love from a bevy of people on Youtube with comments like “This is a GEM. And I don’t know why it’s not more popular” and my favorite comment “Spooky ending”.
Sonic manipulation is the cornerstone of Dillon Nathaniel’s unconventional approach to house music. In just a few short years the graduate of the revered Icon Collective and self-professed gear junkie has proven himself to be a technical mastermind and modern house music connoisseur. The strength of his thick low-end grooves and quirky sound design have caught the ears of A-Track, AC Slater, Destructo, Chris Lake, Malaa and Tchami. His sound has also begun to inject itself onto the ears of mainstream audiences with plays popping up from BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Sirius. And with appearances on Night Bass, Confession, This Ain’t Bristol, Main Course, and releases with Insomniac it’s clear his intent to “Shake up people’s perception of what house is” is well within reach.
While it may seem like this young bass technician has seen a quick rise, his roots run deep. The former audio engineer and gear junkie found his footing in music at an early age as a vocalist and guitar player. His father hoped to impress upon him a strong emphasis in dance music exposing the budding musician to the likes of Carl Cox and Sasha on road trips from the age of 8. He eventually brought Dillon to EDC at the age of 16. It was this that provided the ultimate inspiration to pursue a career in dance music. His ability to construct a mood extends well beyond the studio into his dynamic and energetic DJ sets. He’s flexed the subs throughout the country bringing his unique sound to Avalon Hollywood, Exchange LA, Webster Hall (NYC) and Insomniac Event’s Escape Psycho Circus. There is no doubt that Dillon will continue to turn heads as he pushes forward in his effort to reshape the face of modern dance music.

YUNG GRAVY the Twin cities; Minnesota native has come a long way to finally stepping up on stage performing singles like “Mr. Clean” and “1 thot 2 thot red thot blue thot”, which were hit tracks in the past years and a major collab with Lil Baby. His new single “GRAVY TRAIN” has now been released with almost 250k views on Youtube and his core audience are jumping on the comments that they need more of the track and are already saying that it is an immediate hit. YUNG GRAVY is on a roll with single after single slowly and steadily growing his fan base.
YUNG GRAVY has also utilized Maxine Nightingale's "Right back where we started from" as a perfect example as how this trap artist still reflects back on the soul and oldies from the 50's and 60's in his "GRAVY TRAIN" single using for posterity and new generations.
Shayna McHayle, better known by her stage name Junglepussy, is an American rapper and actress based in New York City. "Trader Joe" is her fantastic new single and this long form video Directed by Vincent Martell of VAM Studio is hilarious.
I can hear the faint sounds of the NYC-based rapper munching on healthy snacks. She’s fresh off the release of her third studio album, JP3, and the just-in-time-for-summer rendering doesn’t disappoint: There are shoutouts to nourishing your heart and body—from the food you eat to the company you keep—laced with her signature vivacity, sex-positivity, and heaps of Caribbean vibes thanks to her Trinidadian-Jamaican roots. How complex feelings spurred by trips to Trader Joe’s inspired the album’s first single, and the new addition to her skincare routine that has her feeling like Angela Bassett.

Omar Apollo is an interesting case and most notably has an amazing angle being first generation Mexican, breaking out as a solo artist. Apollo grew up listening to the Beatles tremendously as child, he also paid close attention to Mexican artists, like Pedro Infante and a lot of Vicente Fernandez. His songs have that immense soulful, psychedelically singer style to them and Omar has received plenty of success in Spotify already being Play listed. He toured around the country when he first released his EP, Stereo, which indeed was a bilingual homemade Psych-pop. His brand new album "Friends" takes it to the next level with the same components with psychedelic-pop/ soulful sounds that circulated the entire album in a breeze. His single "Ashamed" in the Friends album will likely be your favorite repeat song.
Our interview guest, Amanda Jones, got called in to a last minute scoring session and DJ Spectrum had a tantrum in a bagel shop when he found out. We filled the tub with artists to interview and learned some things about Sophie and Boogie Whip. Sophie Strauss played catchy organic pop. Jakey Heartbreak & The Bad Skulls played, the music of rock n' roll and were joined by DJ Spectrum for a song. Dirty Lovely Creatures played their brand of scary truths rock. Indica got us lifted on his hip hop. Nandes brought was a powerful positive rap official and the night closed with our famous Hunnypot Dance party courtesy of Hot Tub Johnnie. (7/22/2019)
Sophie Strauss is a 25 year old musician from Los Angeles. A rare person actually from here. She used to be a butcher but now she's just a singer with correct opinions. She released her first full-length record Hard Study in December.

Jakey Heartbreak and The Bad Skulls are living humans who play loud rock music meant to excite and incite wonderfully terrible behavior amongst its listeners. If you enjoy feeling like you want to hug a stranger or tackle a friend, we’re here to meet your needs. Faces may melt, heads might explode, but one thing for sure is it will certainly be a good time. Sing, shout, scream, do a back flip. We got you. With song releases earlier this year and packed shows at some of LA’s more well known establishments, Jakey Heartbreak and the Bad Skulls are creating a buzz from more than just the alcohol. We know it’s only rock n roll, but we are the walrus…walruses? Anyway, let’s party.

DIRTY LOVELY CREATURES is an odd mix of sounds. It’s influences range from Germany’s Boozoo Bajou to SoCal’s own Fu Manchu. Chris Brann’s Ananda Project and Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra are also heavy inspiration’s for this unusual act. The lyrics center around human secrets, and “the things that people do, when they think no one is watching...” The majority of the songs are written by the group’s frontman, Boogiewhip, aka; lead singer of the Cabaret Rock n’ Roll Show, HOT SAUCE HOLIDAY. And they (mostly) chronicle the thoughts and opinions he carries towards the situations (and people) he witnessed during his “cult” upbringing in Northern California, circa, the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Cynical and sexy, vulgar and articulate, DLC is a one-of-a-kind music experience you’ve got to hear AND see to believe.

austenyo invites us to visit his shop on his new music video.
Combining a song with his merch advertisement was a genius way to release his new single “commercial”. Being closer to his fans is an important factor for austenyo, the laid-back hip-hop song expresses his will to give back to his audience with his awesome merch including T-shirts, hoodies and stickers.
