Philadelphia rapper Tierra Whack will blow your mind with her just released 15-minute visual album Whack World. Tierra's 1 minute song format takes us on a journey that leaves you hungry for more. Hunnypot Approved!
This week’s video pick comes from HONNE with their track Me & You ◑ and it’s giving us all the feel-good summer vibes and is sure to kick start your summer feeling; even if you’re more of a June Gloom person, you definitely won’t be able to get this tune out of your head once you’ve heard it.
The British duo outdoes themselves this track they made in collaboration with the always smooth Tom Misch and feauturing him on the guitars. The smooth synths, hooky guitar and funky bass come alive with the lively dance moves of South Korean dance company ¡NTRO Dance Company, who landed the gig after the duo saw them dancing to another track of their earlier this year.
The track comes off their single Me & You ◑ / I Just Wanna Go Back ◐, all gearing up towards their next album Love Me, Love Me Not, which is out on August 24th. They’re currently on world tour this album, be sure to catch them live on Sept. 20th, 2018 at the Novo by Microsoft in Los Angeles.

This video pick is a no-brainer: Straight-up Rock and Roll - check, a song to have on repeat - check, badass music video showcasing the band’s personality - check! Enjoy music from Them Evils with their song Got Me Rockin’, off their latest EP Rollin' Stoned and Livin' Free.
It’s no mystery why Them Evils has been endorsed and supported by rock icon Zakk Wylde, with rock and roll that’s as iconic as it is fresh. The influence of acts like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Queens of the Stone Age can be felt but you can’t call them derivative; Them Evils is a sound for this generation but rocks every bit as hard as their predecessors and they’ve been proving it on tour with acts like Zakk Wylde’s Zakk Sabath, Pretty Reckless, 10 years and Alter Bridge for the past 4 years.
And you don’t have to look no further than the next Hunnypot Live at The Mint, on June 25th 2018, to see what this tour proven live act sounds like; just be ready to rock as hard as they do.

Looking back over the years, there may not be another band more influential on my own musical DNA than Depeche Mode. I can recall as a high school student how popular the band was, but never imagined at the time how important they would be to me personally 30 years later. As for many, Depeche Mode’s lyrics were real, meaningful, and relevant. Combined with cutting edge visualizations (courtesy of none other than legendary photographer Anton Corbijn), Depeche Mode sparked a firestorm in my creative soul that has endured over the years and ultimately transformed into my passion for live music photography – one that to this day shapes who I am as a person.
Walking up to the Honda Center on Tuesday night, I took a moment to reflect on Depeche Mode and how influential they were not just to me, but to music as we know it today. Now I’m not just speaking of dance or alternative genres, but all music. Bands like Nine Inch Nails, Lady Gaga, and Muse all cite Depeche Mode as powerful influences on their music, and it should be no surprise with the success they have had since their humble beginnings in Basildon in 1980. Since that time, they have released 14 studio albums, topped the charts with countless top-10 singles, and have sold north of 100 million albums worldwide. It’s not a stretch to put Depeche Mode among my top five bands of all-time, and it shouldn’t be for you either. This band is the real deal.
Opening for Depeche Mode was San Francisco trio, the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (or B.R.M.C). While many in attendance had little exposure to this killer rock band, I had heard them on a few previous occasions and was excited to see what they could do opening for one of the biggest bands on the planet today. Expectations were high and am happy to report that B.R.M.C delivered on all levels. Their set-list (although limited as an opener) was tight and helped to showcase what an incredible band this is. I highly recommend picking up a copy of their latest album, 2018’s Wrong Creatures, and giving it a spin. It’s incredible.
As Depeche Mode was ready to take the stage, a near-capacity crowd at the Honda Center began to work themselves into a frenzy as The Beatles classic, “Revolution” rocked the massive amps located throughout the arena. Fans immediately jumped to their feet as the song came to an end signaling that the show was ready to begin. As dim lights went black, a massive video screen flickered on with Depeche Mode’s trademark Spirit Feet animation and captured the attention of a now packed arena. Touring members Christian Eigner and Peter Gordeno were the first to take the stage, followed by original band members Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher. Then, from a catwalk high above the stage, Dave Gahan appeared. Wearing his trademark sunglasses, he spun around a few times before throwing his fist into the air and launching into 2017’s “Going Backwards”. With all of the political turmoil taking place around the globe, it seemed like the perfect choice to open Tuesday’s show.
Over the next 2 hours, Depeche Mode’s fans (known affectionately as Devotees) from all over the world celebrated with one another as Depeche Mode cranked out an amazing 20-song set list spanning their entire catalog. From classics such as “Everything Counts” and “Stripped”, to more recent releases such as “Where’s the Revolution” and “Wrong”, there was something for everyone at Tuesday evenings performance. My personal favorite of the evening was “The Things You Said”, off 1987’s Music for the Masses. I feel this could be one of their most underappreciated songs of all-time and was super excited to hear it live (The first time since 1988). I am thinking the 10,000+ in attendance probably felt the same way I did. The show came to a spectacular end with a killer four-song encore that consisted of an acoustic version of “I want You Now”, “Walking in My Shoes”, “A Question of Time”, and probably the most popular Depeche Mode song of all-time, “Personal Jesus”.
As the crowd began their long walk back to the parking lot, I took a few moments to speak to several Depeche Mode fans regarding their take on the evenings show. One fan who had flew in from Germany said that this was her first time attending a Depeche Mode show in the states and was blown away by the hospitality of fans in America. Another from Los Angeles had said this was his 15th Depeche Mode show and couldn’t have been happier with their performance and setlist. Comments like this were common amongst fans pouring out of the Honda Center, and validated what I had already came to realize – This was an incredible show!
Overall, I think that Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andrew Fletcher scored a “hat-trick” on Tuesday night at The Honda Center (Home of our Anaheim Ducks). Depeche Mode’s setlist was diverse, the bands chemistry was spot on, and the crowd was fully into the show from start to finish. And when you consider that Depeche Mode has been selling out shows for over 35 years, it’s no surprise that this band is just as solid musically as they were back in the day. And seeing well over 75 live shows this year, I think it’s safe to say that Tuesday's performance ranked #1 for me in 2018. Bottom line, Depeche Mode will continue to put exclamation points on every show they perform this year in support of their 2018 Global Spirit Tour. If you have a chance to see them live this year, please do. This is a "bucket list" type of show that cannot and should not be missed. The blokes from Basildon are at it again, and continue to provide incredible Music for the Masses, even after all these years.

I always thought a Hand So Low was just masturbation. Hunnypot Live #392 rode the coat tails of a Star Wars Story opening weekend and we might have done better numbers. . . . Hot Tub Johnnie took off from an intergalactic music space port and hardly smuggled in some song gems with his fist DJ Set. Our celebrity guest Mason Reese brought imperial force of talent and personality in the hot tub to talk about his acting, overall entertainment career, and played a super funk fest DJ set. Pacific Radio set our dials to stun with an over the top rock n roll spectacle, Old_Sport got their jolly's rodgering us with their brand of anthemic music, Dead Poet Society brought life, lyrics, melody and rhythms to their musical performance (and were enthusiastically forced in to an encore), Kevin Michael & The New Jack Twang were in "country" at Hunnypot to entertain us, JackEL created a people magnet that crowded the dance floor for his electronic music extravaganza and Hot Tub finished the night off with more dance party music for America. 05/28/2018

Mason Reese was a child star of the 1970s. His television commercials and appearances, combined with talent and a unique look, catapulted him to pop icon status.
Between the years of 1969 to 1984, Mason was everywhere you looked. Being a veteran of over 75 commercials, seven of which won Clio awards, including the coveted best male actor Clio. Mason was a guest on countless variety and talk shows, his charm and sense of humor made him a fan favorite on the Mike Douglas Show of which Mason appeared over 25 times and Co hosted three separate weeks. Mike dedicated many pages to Mason in his autobiography, and claimed that Mason received the highest ratings in the history of the show. Mason also graced the covers of every major magazine including the ever popular T.V. Guide. When Mason was 7, he was hired by WNBC, in New York, to be a contributing field reporter and present family oriented pieces for the newscast.
Mason went on to film a sitcom pilot for ABC, called "Mason" in 1977, and was a regular guest on Howard Cossell's variety show. Mason then went on to be a regular contributor to Howard Sterns first television show, and was a frequent radio guest as well.
Over the years Mason has been a "go to" guest for panel discussions and talk shows, when the subject matter was favorite commercial or child stars, including the Today Show, Good Morning America, Jenny Jones, Midday Live, A.M. New York, A.M. Los Angeles, Dick Cavett, People Are Talking, Wonderama, the Regis Philbin Show, and Phil Donahue, and Leeza Gibbons.
In recent years Mason has been featured on VH1, Child Star Confidential on E!, and was a guest presenter on TV Lands first award ceremony.
“You know those bands that the moment you get to the first chorus of their first song you realize, holy f*ck, they are gonna be HUGE. Introducing, Pacific Radio. With a penchant for big freaking hooks, thundering bass lines and singalong choruses, they remind me of The Killers, Weezer, the Airborne Toxic Event, Eagles of Death Metal and early Foo Fighters all poured into one flaming mojito.”
~Keith Creighton (Pop Dose)
Pacific Radio is a sonic collision of energetic garage rock with L.A. heartbreak. It's origins can be traced back to when Joe Robinson (singer/ guitar) and Joe Stiteler (bass) left L.A. punk band The Ringers in search of a more dynamic sound and space. The duo grew to a quartet with the addition of Kyle Biane (Guitar) and Hyke Shirinian (Drums). Stiteler, Biane and Shirinian created the perfect backdrop for Robinson’s catchy melodies.
After the release of their debut EP, 2017 saw the band hit the road with their wildly charismatic live show. From their home base in L.A. to Austin to Seattle to Napa’s Bottlerock Music Festival, the band began winning over fans from festivals to dive bars.
Between tour dates, the band retreated to the studio with Grammy nominated engineer and producer, Eric Weaver, putting the finishing touches on their upcoming full length album “Pretty, but Killing Me”. They diligently transformed their songs from wild rock show crowd-pleasers into a meticulously crafted record inspired by their heroes.
"Pacific Radio is a band that listeners will fall in love with from their Pop Rock to Punk Rock tempos and upbeat sound. Even with a theme around heartache and love each song has its own sound and style.” ~Alexis Coleman (Side Stage Magazine)
"...even though I hadn’t heard a single song from this band, their performance had me dancing like a maniac before the first song even finished" ~Kylie Banks (The Music Court)

OLD_SPORT is a five piece folk-grunge rock band forged in LA with roots to NYC. Formed to create the soundtrack for the award-winning independent film ELSEWHERE. They have played multiple headlining shows over the past 6 months on both coasts including: The Troubadour, Hotel Cafe, Pianos, and Mercury Lounge. They’ve just completed a 3 song EP with Steve Kille of Dead Meadow producing. "Burning Cigarettes" is the 1st single. "Ain't So Crazy" is the next.
DEAD POET SOCIETY are an unlikely group of wierdos who like to make noise together; A punk on bass, a U2 lover on guitar, a kid who used to listen to nothing but Bob Dylan on vocals, and an absolute percussion nerd on jazz flute (we know its weird but he’d rather play flute then drums). And our hometowns are as different as our interests, from all over the country serendipity brought us together drinking beer on the same couches in college, in Boston MA. Nothing more then acquaintances at first, a disastrous first tour made us brothers for life. Now we try to just make whatever we want and stay inspired by new things everyday. Books, history, the macabre, art, foreign films, skating and surfing, video games, and shenanigans stoke us out to make music. Stay tuned for a new album in 2018.

Tech N9ne is arguably one of the most prolific artists on the planet today. Known for his signature chopper style of rap combined with insanely intelligent lyrics, Tech has clearly set himself apart from others in the rap scene today. On top of all of his individual successes (including a record setting 19 top-ten albums on Billboards Top Rap Albums Chart) , Tech N9ne has also developed legions of talent which he showcases on his independent record label, Strange Music, Inc. Artists like the King ISO, Joey Cool, Mackenzie Nicole, Just Juice and Krizz Kaliko have seen their popularity skyrocket as a direct result of their collaboration with Tech N9ne.
On Friday May 11th, hundreds of fans (known affectionately as Technicians) lined up early at the House of Blues – San Diego to participate in a one-of-a-kind Meet and Greet opportunity with Tech N9ne and other artists on the Planet Tour – 2018. At the ridiculously low price of $175, attendees received a show ticket, a ton of Strange Music swag, and one-hour artist meet and greet. Few artists allow the type of VIP access that Tech does, and it showcases the incredible relationship he has with his legions of followers all around the world. And when you consider the thousands of additional fans that were also lined up (and ready to rush the barrier), there was no doubt in one’s mind that this show was going to be something special.
The first Strange Music act to take the stage on Friday evening was none other than King ISO. To say these guys weren’t solid rappers would be an understatement. This dynamic-duo from Omaha, Nebraska whipped the pit area into a frenzy that would set the stage for the rest of the evening's acts. After a raucous 20-minute set, Kansas City native Joey Cool took the stage. As if King Iso didn’t set the bar high enough, this guy literally took it up a notch with smooth songs from his 2018 self-titled release. This was a super fun set from the Swagmaster General and laid additional groundwork for what was about to come over the next few hours. Whether you like rap or not, Joey Cool is the real deal. Smooth, personable, and humble coupled with an amazing stage presence that easily takes over a room. Watch out for this guy in the years to come.
As fans were just beginning to catch their breath, Strange Music’s own Baby Girl, Mackenzie Nicole, took the stage and amazed the sold-out crowd with a powerful set that that literally rocked the venue to its core. Definitely a different sound that the previous two artists, but one that had the near-capacity crowd mesmerized from her very first note. Then when you think it could not get any better, Boston native Just Juice strutted on to the stage. As he saluted the crowd, Juice dug deep into his bag of tricks and captured the crowd almost instantaneously. He carried himself with a certain 80’s type of swag, and he brought it to life in each song he performed Friday evening. I think a fan I spoke with summarized his set best, “Juice brought the flavor to beautiful San Diego on Friday night. He’s making old-school new all over again!” Truer words could not have been said.
As the clock approached 9:00pm, the now capacity crowd seemed primed and ready to go. Chants of "Tech N9ne, Tech N9ne, Tech N9ne" echoed through a now packed house. Most in attendance were brimming with a childlike excitement rarely seen at concerts these days. As house lights dimmed, a fog began to fill the stage and as strobe lights began to flash. Then, a large reflective ball (donning the iconic Strange Music logo) swung around and Tech N9ne appeared in what seemed to be a Strange Music throne. Flanked by two full sized video twins, Tech N9ne launched into Planet’s 2018 smash, “Fresh Out!” and the fans went ballistic.
Over the next hour and a half, Tech N9ne put on a near-flawless show that seemingly blew the roof off San Diego’s House of Blues. Technicians were treated to a massive set consisting of 25 mind-blowing tracks such as “Einstein”, “Worldwide Choppers”, and “Caribou Lou”. And if that wasn't enough, the mind-blowing Krizz Kaliko joined Tech on stage for a handful of songs that took it to a whole new level in the Gas Lamp District. From the first note of "Anxiety", energy in the house jumped to a whole new level. It's like someone hit the accelerator and didn't tell anyone it was going to happen. That type of energy is a testament to Krizz Kaliko and his talent as a rapper and entertainer extraordinaire. Definitely a highlight of Friday nights show.
Tech N9ne’s monster set finally ended around 11:00pm with an all-out lyrical assault courtesy of fan-favorite “Stamina” and “Hood Go Crazy” - off 2015’s Special Effects. Fans of all ages were out of their seat, off their feet, and rocking to the beat as the show’s encore came crashing to a screeching halt. The show started just as it ended - with passion, energy, and heart. What an incredible way to end what many said was Tech’s “best show of the 2018 tour so far”.
To paraphrase legendary football coach Lou Holtz, “For those who have seen Tech N9ne perform live, no explanation is necessary. For those who have not, no explanation will suffice”. Tech N9ne slayed the San Diego crowd with a near-flawless performance that transcended time and space for those in attendance. And if you take a moment and really listen to the substance of Tech’s lyrics, you’d understand just how talented this man is. He’s not just a rapper, but an incredible storyteller that shares his personal autobiography every time his pen hits the paper. Tech N9ne shows are a culmination of this work and will probably be some of the most real performances you will ever see live.
If you have an opportunity to see Tech N9ne on his Planet Tour - 2018, make the call now and grab your tickets today – you will not be disappointed. Tech N9ne is an absolute genius – combining flawless vocals, relevant lyrics, and non-stop energy to every show he headlines. On top of that, he plays with a reckless abandon that takes what would already have been a solid performance to incredible new levels each and every show. Tech N9ne brought it on Friday evening and showed America’s Greatest City why he is one of the most incredible artists on the planet today. No brag, just fact.
