Sisters Holly and Coco Chant are Xylaroo, an alternative duo with a relaxing, inspirational, and positive sound. The group combines a thought-provoking, socially conscious musical message with harmonious vocal melodies that seemingly only siblings are capable of. Their second single ‘On My Way’ out now via Sunday Best/ PIAS is an upbeat melodic number which highlights their beautiful harmonies and songwriting skills, this is sure to be another smash. Similar to many bands, the pair (Holly aged 25, Coco 23) are a product of their own environment. What makes them totally at odds with everyone else, however, is that their environment has been constantly shifting since day one. You could say they've been “on the road” their whole lives, growing up in Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, The Philippines, United Kingdom, Switzerland and finally Sri Lanka before returning to London, where they are now based out of. This constant travel in addition to being siblings has, without a doubt, affected the band. “It's only in the last couple of years that we've considered ourselves a proper band,” says Coco. “When you're sisters you don't take yourselves as seriously. You play around in your living room.”
Xylaroo don't want the messaging of their songs to be set in one timeframe. Rather the themes they care about – love, humanity, philosophy, “conspiracy theories” – are ones that pervade every generation, not just theirs. While Holly's scholastic past makes her aware of political upheaval and social consciousness, she doesn't believe in using Xylaroo for preaching. “We want to write songs that make people think without telling them what to think. I'll read an article about racism and police brutality in America, for instance, and then we'll write about it. But it will be subtle" says Holly. 2016 Will be a big year for this upcoming unique act!

Hunnypot party alumni YG drops a brand new single featuring Drake and Kamaiyah. LA rap artist Keenon Jackson (also known as YG or Young Gangsta) began to develop a following through the internet. The tracks "She a Model" and "Aim Me" were successful online and led the rapper signing to DefJam in 2009, right around the time he played our Hunnypot party at The Highlands. Everyone knows Drake, but also working with YG for the first time is Kamaiyah a rising Oakland MC.

Fronted by Elkhart, Indiana’s Jimmy Herald, Hillbilly Herald is rock ‘n’ roll for those starving for a break from fast-food,radio-repeated, sugar-shock pop. Influenced by the late 70’s rock of AC/DC and Aerosmith, their hard-hitting songs like “Shame on Me” and “Sucker Punch” pull concert-goers into a world of gritty, no-frills, in-your-face attitude that Slash calls “One of the most kickass R&R bands around” and KISS’s Gene Simmons calls “The future of rock and roll.”
True to their hard-working, blue-collar roots, Hillbilly Herald is a working-class band for everyone hungry for an honest, pull-no-punches rock experience that is the genre at its finest. From their initial eponymous release “Hillbilly Herald” in 2009, 2013 EP “Sunday’s Best” to their upcoming 2016 EP release, Jimmy is backed by Adam Wolf on bass, Louie Riel on drums, Tommy Peacock and Ben Leroy on guitars.

A little rough...a little raw...but here's an awesome #throwbackthursday of Far East Movement! Composed of the members Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif (not featured), and DJ Virman, Far East Movement is a Hip Hop-EDM group based in Los Angeles. The group is probably best known for their hit single "Like a G6" which made them the first Asian-American group to to earn a #1 on the Billboard Top 100. The clip is from one of our old Culver City house parties back in 2009. We've always had great artists! Check it out!
Check out SWMRS with their video "Figuring It Out"! Based out of Oakland, CA, SWMRS (formerly "Emily's Army") is currently on their second European Tour, this time with FIDLAR. In fact, their new album Drive North was actually produced by FIDLAR'S Zac Carper. The band is made up of brothers Cole and Max Becker on guitar and vocals, Joey Armstrong (son of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong) on drums, and Seb Mueller on bass guitar. The genre Rolling Stone labeled "angsty garage rock" never sounded so good!
