What do you do get when you bring together 9 bands, 12 acts, two great stages and 3 dj’s? Well only the legendary Hunnypot Radio #322 edition could be the answer to that question. Sounds crazy, well it was.
The water temperature was just right in the tub that Hot Tub Johnnie couldn’t help but to start early on the interviews and delivering the listeners a golden set list with Lily Hayden’s single Sea of Gold opening it up. Mid-set Interviews with Sarriah and RJ Comry, the artists opening both stages, gave insight on both of their journeys in the industry and what they would shortly present to the Mint and Mid Stage lounge. Following both lead performers, Peppina jumped in the hot tub next. She was basking in excitement about performing while reminiscing on her 2 year anniversary of her first large performance at the Orpheum Theatre .
Succeeding Johnnie's set was an informative two on one with Music Supervisor Johnathan Baker. Highlighting some prime moments in his career, Baker shared his moment of truth where he realized that music supervising was exactly what he saw himself doing. Immediately after the brain picking Johnathan introduced his Dj Set and took us back to the 90’s hip hop era starting with Montell Jordan’s hit “This is How We do it”.
The packed night continued as the stages started coming to life. In the main room Sarriah’s electric- pop style had the viewers on their feet as she sung her single “All about sex”. All Hunnypotters welcomed her to the stage with great vibes especially Miami Heat’s very own Chris Bosh and family that came to support.
Simultaneously, on the second more acoustic feeling stage at Mid- City lounge, RJ Comer started his amazing set with a smothering love song. Both artists giving a fantastic show set the mood for this chaotic Hunnypot.
Shortly after Sarriah, Madeline took control of the Main stage with her eccentric style and fantastic band. The audience fell in love with her lyrics and vocals immediately. The second act on the mid-city stage was the impeccable Peppina with her soulful sound. Utilizing both guitar and Ukulele she mesmerized the packed audience with her set and had everyone singing along to her single “We can go Back”.
While things was getting pretty hot in the shoulder to shoulder madness in the mid-city lounge The Gabrielz put a spell on the viewers in The Mint with their opening piece . The endemic ballad with the blindfolded lead singer created a mysterious welcoming to the musical world that the Gabrielz live in. After their set Luna Aura kept everyone on the dance floor with her electric pop stylings.
Meanwhile at the second stage the last act of the night was representing for the millennial generation. This Boy That Girl had the perfect blend of soul and hip hop featuring “That Band “ which included a guitarist and percussionist keeping them in line with the acoustic theme in the mid-city lounge. Their patient fans were ready for them to hit the stage and were singing along to the very first song.
Closing out the Mid-City Lounge was easy due to all the anticipation The Chimpz had brewing up around there set in the Mint. From the awesome tour RV to the high-energy Electronic Rock that poured out there performance was every reason to be excited about The Chimpz experience.
Ending the Live bands of the night was never the least Mind Plow. A band full of Veteran touring band members created magic at the mint as they performed musically ingenious compositions that ended the live music segment of Hunnypot #322 perfectly like a dessert drink after a wild night in the Hot Tub.
However the True cherry on top was our final guest DJ 6ix Seven who kept the party going as he mixed together various genres including house, electric pop EDM and many more. Every element of chaos was splashing in the hot tub creating the most exciting and talent packed show that won’t be forgotten any time soon. 08/10/2015

"All About Sex" was her second hit with the endorsement of Perez Hilton, she has traveled Europe and the U.S and has had over 300,000 views for the Youtube music video.
She has also worked with Jeff Franzel to create a live band experience with a cabaret theme which ended up being performed at The Cutting Room, Hard Rock Cafe, The Bitter End, and 54 Below. Sam Tsui recorded a rendition of Pharrell's "Happy" with her and within 48 hours it had more then 200,000 hits.
She is an artist, songwriter, and producer. Some would say that Madeline is an old soul with her heart-swelling vocals and powerful lyrics. Looking up to Edith Piaf and Ella Fitzgerald really help her sculpt her music into her own. She evokes defiance and grace with her lyric choices that create dominating images for the listener. For her, its about what believing in how you can change the world.
‘The Gabrielz’ is a progressive folk electronic group that combines percussive dance beats with a back porch flavor. This hybrid creates a fun, carefree and happy attitude which embraces and shines light on the theme of the first EP, “a man who never grew up”. Having never owned a suit and never wanted to, the writer and vocalist of the project (Beau Hirshfield) embraces his Northern California roots - digitally organic. This juxtaposition in style contributes to the vast diversity of ‘the gabrielz’ sound with musical influence that span the likes of Paul Simon to Imagine Dragons. The first EP, “CARE FREE” carries an eclectic awkwardness, yet seamless assortment of sounds and lyrics. Centered in a declaration of finding your own way, self-discovery and personal freedom, this freshman EP is a call to action. If you confront yourself, state the facts and accept your flaws, success is unavoidable. Simply stated, “You be you, I’ll be me, and together we can journey as the Gabrielz.”
Luna Aura is a singer, songwriter, and producer of cosmic dream-pop electronica. She found her love of music at a very young age and started writing when she was 10. Her teens were filled with live performances and it soon became her life. She mixes a variety of genres together to create songs that have pop melodies, with a trap beat and trippy synths. She is the perfect mixture of the Top 40 hooks with an indie sound. Lyrically she mainly writes about youth, pop culture, feminism, self-identification and bold proclamations.
Her music has been on MTV, VH1, and other Viacom networks. BMI distinguished her as one of BMI’s Indie Spotlights of 2015. She has performed with Aloe Blacc, K. Flay, Steve Aoki, Avid Dancer, and The Ting Tings. Aura aims to motivate and inspire people all over the world by spreading love, courage, and truth through art and music.
The Chimpz consist of 5 guys who grew up on the streets of Los Angeles, and have been able to turn the hustle and flow of LA and create a memorable and catchy hook. We have Artimus Prime on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Chuck P as MC/vocals, Scary Cary on lead Guitar, Shawn “Sonic” Lyon on Bass, and Sean Topham on drums. Together they released their latst single “California” and their self-titled EP came out last September.
THE CHIMPZ’s music has been heard on several episodes of FX’s "Sons of Anarchy"(new song “Right To Left” was used in episode 2 on 9/16 of in Season 7 of “SOA”), every episode of MTV's "Bam Margera's Unholy Union", The Challenge”, MTV’s “Real World”, Fox Sports, Animal Planet’s “My Cat From Hell”, Action Sports TV show “Adrenalina” and a host of other placements. The Chimpz have honed their always entertaining live act by performing consistently for years, building a loyal and growing following by playing shows including Rocklahoma three times (2013, 2014, 2015), Rockstar Uproar Festival, Seattle Hemp Fest, Orange County Fair, Whiskey a Go Go, House of Blues, The Viper Room, and Venice Summerfest and just recently completed a 25 date U.S. Tour. The band has an enviable roster of sponsors & touring partners including Jagermeister, Sabian Cymbals, Schecter Guitars, Sullen Clothing, Equation Audio, Bogner Amps, Curt Mangan Strings and Bone Custom Drums.
With an uncanny resemblance to Tom Cruise and musical comparisons to Radiohead, Waylon Jennings, and Led Zeppelin, Nicc Angeles is a tour de force onstage. Along with his band Mind Plow -- formed of veteran touring musicians -- Nicc performs his complex, well-crafted yet organic songs, melding county, rock, and R&B influences.
Nicc is the composer of the Mind Plow catalog. His music is a language of its own, comprised of the elements that bring true and unapologetic feeling into communication. The band came together when bassist Justin Smolian introduced guitarist Yogi Lonich (Chris Cornell, Buckcherry, Fuel, the Wallflowers) to Nicc. Drummer Andreas Brobjer (Lady Gaga) and keyboardist Matthew Jordan (Sabrina Carpenter) joined the group effort, and together they are Mind Plow.
Alternating between contagious melodies and patentable rhythms, Mind Plow has not failed to deliver in their lives shows in LA, Las Vegas and at SXSW. According to one newly converted fan, “They Blew the Roof Off of Austin. No One Ever Saw this RAW ENERGY! Ranked right beside RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and/or RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. You can't put them in a Box.”
Also known as Kevin Potts, 6IX SEVEN will lift you up in to the cloud just so they can immediately land you with a drop you won’t forget. His multi-genre sound consists of Deep House, Minimal, Techno, Bass House, and Tech House. He loves to draw out the story line in his songs then give you the drop that will slam you back into reality; it’s one of his favorite things to do. He will keep you dancing all night give you some to hum on the way home.
RJ Comer is a Los Angeles city boy with swamp water in his veins who started out singing in church and around the campfire, but ended up in a lot bad places at wrong times. His brand of Americana & Blues reflects the kind of man he is and was – a tough guy with a tender heart, a lover, a fighter, and a joker, a man who confesses “I should be dead or in jail instead of living a life so good.” From downtempo gritty songs that cut deep with self-deprecating humor and jagged memories to upbeat songs that swagger even when they swing, RJ’s music is both meaningful and entertaining.
RJ’s powerful voice, his captivating live performances, and his infectious songs have been attracting attention. Talents as diverse as A.J. Croce, C.C. Adcock, and Matt Hyde have produced tracks with RJ. He’s toured with Steve Forbert and toured the American Southwest playing dates with Sara Hickman and Guy Forsyth. After a show in Albuquerque, representatives from the New Mexico Americana Music Society described RJ as “refreshingly manly.” John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard) asked RJ to write the title track for John’s horror comedy “Smothered,” which is set in a Louisiana trailer park. Deering Banjo Company includes RJ on its list of featured artists alongside Bela Fleck, Dom Flemmons (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Detroit Brooks, Scott Avett, and Scotty Morris (Big Bad Voodoo Daddy).
Words are a funny thing. There are a select few people who can do something much more than simply speak or sing with them -- they craft them to make magic.
Peppina is that kind of artist. Give this gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist a phrase, and she'll turn it unexpectedly on its head. And that's just the beginning – this wise 19-year-old is as playful with music as she is with words. When Peppina puts them both together something special happens: an emotional alchemy that’s making people stand up and pay attention.
"I think one of the greatest things for people to feel is that someone understands you," she says of her strikingly original songwriting. "I always want to make that kind of connection, if I can. But if someone hears one of my songs and gets angry, that's great too -- it’s a powerful emotion that makes things happen."
Big Dream recording artists Alec and Becca King, known as the dynamic Pop/Hip Hop duo This Boy That Girl (TBTG), not only sing and rap, they also write and produce their original music – an increasing rarity in today’s mainstream music scene.
As a vocalist/rapper duo, TBTG’s collaborative musical offerings call to mind hit-makers such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, or Rihanna and Eminem. And while that’s great company, TBTG’s refreshing musical approach has helped them create their own niche within the pop/hip-hop music genre. Their latest 7-song release (“Breaking Bad,” now available on iTunes) features infectious harmonies and gritty verses, merging the best of both worlds while showcasing their individual talent.
Most recently, TBTG have opened for world tours such as Kalin and Myles’ “Chase Dreams” tour, Aaron Carter’s “Wonderful World” tour, and sold out their own headlining shows in their hometown of Los Angeles. They’ve just released a new video for hit single “Turn The Night Down,” their second video to be picked up by MTV Hits, and are already generating widespread buzz in the pop culture media scene.
Have a Good Time listening to this "feel-good" summer single. Kiki and the Cool Million brings you back to a disco feel and a fun video. This electric drummer/vocalist Hailing from the lush, green rural haven of the “Carolinas”, partnered with a 80's synth influenced funk band, founded by danish songwriter Frank Ryle, Cool Million birthed a great sound that's HunnyPot Approved.
Hunnypot’s 321st edition of the radio show was one party after another and it all started with Hot Tub Johnnie’s eclectic set. Starting out smooth with Topher Mohr and quickly getting everyone’s toe tapping with artists like Alessia Cara, Meek Mill, Big Sean, PHASES, Jill Scott, LA Priest, Bully, Big Sugar, Sirens of Lesbos, and many others. This was just the warm-up of what the night had to offer. During the set he spoke to Survival Guide and Sleep Machine about their individual journeys pursuing what they love.
Well-known producer Warren Huart joined this episode of the Hunnypot Radio Show and discussed how music influenced his younger years and the music he was worked on. Having produced artists of many genres and social statuses, his insight was knowledgeable and intriguing. Coming from a rock n roll background, he started off his set with the first Queen song he had ever listened to, “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Playing music from The Damned, John Lennon, Neil Young, Supertramp, The Undertones and a few others set the tone for the night.
There were a few words that came to mind last night when this beautiful girl with a flower crown walked onto stage and it was ‘this will probably be very calming music’, but how wrong we were. The only word anyone could think of to describe Madlyn was fierce. Having influences like Whitney Houston, Ella and Ella Fitzgerald, you could hear how strongly passionate she was about her music. We couldn’t have asked for a better opener for our live portion.
While CloudTalk was setting up, we were able to speak to Mansions on the Moon about their musical adventure since they got together a few years ago. Afterwards CloudTalk started the dance party with their mix of influences ranging from Maroon 5 to Coldplay to Temper Trap. These four guys were energetic and got the crowd moving. We can’t wait to see where they will end up!
Mansion on the Moon afterwards continued the dance party with their pop/electronic/indie rock sound. No one was standing still at this point in the night. They performed some of their hits including “Somewhere Else Tonight”, “Don’t Tell”, and “Where You Are”. They were radiating with energy and enjoyment, and the crowd couldn’t get enough of it.
Moving further towards the edgier side of things, Sleep Machine reminded us how it felt to feel bad but in all the good ways. Alisha Zalkin was a total knockout with her powerhouse vocals and Dan Kalisher shredding on the guitar right next to her was a sight and sound not to be missed. They performed “Wild For You” which was their first song they had ever written together.
To close out the show, Survival Guide drove to Los Angeles to give her fans a performance to remember. Emily Whitehurst, Survival Guide herself, was captivating with all the multitasking she did on stage. Her voice was bold and beautiful and her instrumentation was nothing short of flawless. She was the perfect ending to a night full of dancing, excitement, and live music.
The 321st Hunnypot Radio Show was a huge success and it couldn’t be done without its phenomenal performances and the audience! Come out every other Monday and join us at The Mint and find out what you’re missing! 07/27/2015

WHO - CloudTalk is a four member alternative pop-rock band from Northern Los Angeles, who have begun to get some notice on the local scene (105,000+ followers on Vine and counting). With guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocal harmonies, TJ, Gabe, and Jordan are ready to bring their unique chemistry to any size venue.
SOUND - By combining a knack for catchy melodies (think Maroon 5 or One Republic), chasing a big sound quality (think Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, fun.) and infusing a little rock edge (a la Killers, Temper Trap, Neon Trees), you’ll get some idea of the recipe for success that CloudTalk is ready to take to the masses. They also draw inspiration from other artists, and it’s easy to imagine them touring with bands as diverse as Young The Giant, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club, Foster The People, New Politics, the Naked and Famous, Walk the Moon, the 1975, Passion Pit and The Neighborhood.
WHAT’S NEXT - Despite wearing their various influences on their sleeve, CloudTalk has a sound that is all its own, thanks in part to TJ’s distinct lead vocals and a gift for crafting hooks that stay with you after the final note lingers. With two full album’s worth of material they can play gigs of various lengths and are ready to explode onto the music scene in a big way.

These guys come from Virginia, Tennessee, California and Iowa. Formed in 2011, Mansions on the Moon hit the ground running. Their band name comes from the concept of turning a dream into a reality, and thats what they are accomplishing with their music. Their first release Paradise Falls was produced by Diplo and DJ Benzi and gained attention from everyone. They went on the Green Carpet Tour, which also included Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller and performed at the Snowball Music Festival. Sleep Machine is a Los Angeles-based rock duo of powerhouse vocalist Alisha Zalkin and guitarist Dan Kalisher. Soul and swagger combines with screaming guitars and thunderous drums on the band’s debut EP, COVER ME IN GOLD, out March 3, 2015. With the exception of the drums, which were played by Kiel Feher, Dan Kalisher played all instruments on the album, as well as produced it. Cover Me In Gold was mixed and mastered by John Spiker (Tenacious D, The Killers).
Born from a need for a new creative outlet, Sleep Machine set off to see what collaboration might sound like with each member’s opposite influences. Dan grew up playing in rock bands and listening to artists like Led Zeppelin and ACDC, whereas Alisha was influenced by female singers with big voices like Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. While song structure is definitely considered in Sleep Machine’s craft, they don’t get hung up on the traditional side of things. “Sometimes you’ve got to throw a verse or chorus away, and just play a guitar solo because you want to,” says Sleep Machine. Their straight up, take-no-prisoners attitude allows for a wild, high- energy live performance that oozes the kind of vibe that rock ‘n roll was built on.
The band’s debut EP, Cover Me In Gold, includes the single Wild For You, which was chosen as the promotional song for TV Land’s newest original comedy-drama series, Younger. Written, executive produced and directed by Darren Star (Sex and the City), the show stars Tony Award® winner Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor. Wild For You was also the first song Alisha and Dan wrote and recorded together, even before they were Sleep Machine. “We were just experimenting with sounds and seeing what came out. We wanted to really exaggerate the combination of loud guitars with loads of fuzz and this sexy, swaggery female vocal, and see how it mixed. After we finished it, we knew we were on to something cool.” The song’s accompanying music video was co-directed by cousins Michael Gladis (actor, Mad Men) and Coleman Gladis (production, Mad Men).
Additionally, COVER ME IN GOLD, the EP’s title track, was recently featured on MTV's Finding Carter, and is now available on iTunes. Later this year, Alisha and Dan plan to take their live band on the road with Will Herrington on keys, Kiel Feher on drums, Andrew Perusi on bass/vocals, and John Spiker on guitar/vocals.

Between Hot Tub Johnnies set a Hilarious interview with the The Ooks of Hazard gave all listeners the insight of the band, how it was founded and how they gained the perfect eye candy for the band that not only looks amazing but has fantastic vocals and accordion skills.
Following Hot Tub Johnnies segment the legendary Andy Ross answered a few questions and updated all the viewers on his upcoming project. As our guest DJ Ross had an impressive set prepared for the Hunnypot Followers. The Ooks of Hazard finally graced The Mint's stage and showed every viewer what ukuleles are all about. Boom Shack took over on the turntables and directly after, Ryan Amador lit up the stage and became an easy crowd favorite by putting on an amazing show and ending it with his latest single “wierdo”.
The well anticipated Hunnypot Original J*Labs and Johanna Phraze had a memorable set featuring a new buzzing single “Pop That Trunk”. Attendees at The Mint had no choice but to hit the dance floor when J*Labs was mixing. This fact left a great audience for Carmella, who not only prepared an impressive set of bending cinematic electronics yet also had the musicianship to match this duos special effects.
Finally ending a musician lovers dream edition of Hunnypot , Lou Pine brought all Hunnypot supporters back to earth with this trio’s set of sultry rock. His band is the epitome of quality over quantity and created a rich sound that was perfect for the closure of this memorable edition of Hunnypot Radio. 7/13/15
Twenty five years ago Andy Ross strung up his microphone and sensibly accepted a job with Courtyard Management (Radiohead, Supergrass) running their indie label and publishing company, which in turn led to artist management (Keziah Jones, Psapp) and a relationship with sister company ATC management (Nick Cave, PJ Harvey). Thanks to this and a stint as Head of Music at pioneer film music acquisition company Cutting Edge, Ross now controls an address book that covers the World. Ten years ago with the disintegration of the music industry Andy moved to LA and immersed himself in the film and TV world of Hollywood.
Previous to winning the 2015 Guild of Music Supervisors' award for ‘best music supervision under $5m’ on the three time Academy Award winning movie ‘Whiplash’, Ross cut his teeth licensing, pitching and creating music for 80+ commercials (NFL, Audi, VW, XBOX), 30+ television shows (Grey’s Anatomy Theme Song, CSI) and over 40 feature films. Working with directors such as Damien Chazelle (Whiplash), Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, 13), Taylor Hackford (Ray, An Officer & A Gentleman) and producers Judy Cairo (Crazy Heart, Stuck In Love) and Ed Saxon (Silence of the Lambs, Adaptation), Andy has established a strong reputation as a passionate music creative with extensive knowledge and experience working with artists, lawyers, agents, composers, managers, publishers, record companies, film distributors, movie producers and directors.
Exit Strategy Productions his new music services company formed with Ex SVP Business Affairs at Cutting Edge Chaz Barsamian is committed to forward thinking, great scripts, film and music fusion and above all decent human beings with bold, original creative ideas who’ve checked their ego’s at the door, next to their coats.
The Ooks of Hazzard were formed in March of 2010 at a local open mic jam session in Venice Beach CA . Gathering local musicians, they recorded a live video cover of MGMT’s “Kids” in April 2010. The video went viral almost immediately and continues to get many views on You Tube. The Ooks can be seen performing at various local venues, festivals and charity fundraiser events nationwide. The Ooks perform Originals and covers of songs you wouldn’t expect to hear on ukuleles. Ed Marshall – Tenor Uke also plays bass in a electric band DEVO.
You know Ryan (you can call him Ryan). His single "Define Me" reached almost 300,000 views on Youtube and earned Ryan ASCAP's Robert Allen Award for songwriting in 2013. You may have caught him when he toured in festivals in New York, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Brisbane, Australia. Well he's now back with his fourth release, his trademark visuals with a voice, and a newly-coined genre, which suits him like a glove.
After spending the summer of 2014 in New York and traveling to Abu Dhabi, Cambodia, & Australia (where he headlined Brisbane's Pride Festival, named "Define Me" after Ryan's song), Ryan was itching to hit the studio and release a new collection of work to his fans. In only three weeks, “4S” was born, Ryan's first collaboration with producer/instrumentalist Daniel Weidlein. Ryan calls “4S” a “short reflection on nature's influence over human behavior, be it in regard to love, sex, and mother nature herself”. The album features instrumental work by some of LA's best musicians including Kyle Crane (drums), Brandon Bae (guitar), and Miller Wrenn (bass). It also features collaborations with vocalists Jo Lampert (of Ryan's youtube hit "Define Me") and LA-native Julia Harriman. In October 2014, Ryan toured the Pacific Coast to promote “4S” in Los Angeles, San Francisco, & Seattle. Ryan Amador & Daniel Weidlein are currently at work on a full length release.

way to go Survival Guide is the compelling artistic endeavor featuring California vocalist and keyboardist Emily Whitehurst. Her music falls somewhere between indie rock and electronic, always with descriptive, storytelling lyrics, strong vocals and a sprinkle of pop. After supporting Joan Jett, performing at First City Festival 2014 (Beck, The National, Phantogram) and recording a freshman full-length album, Survival Guide was named one of the Top 12 Bay Area Bands of 2014 by San Francisco's premier rock radio station, Live 105. Her recent album, entitled "Way to Go", conjures feelings of a dark modern fairytale and showcases Whitehurst's vocal range and talent, following two previously released 7" vinyl singles, "Hot Lather Machine" and "Wildcat", released on San Francisco's Side With Us Records.
Survival Guide released debut LP Way To Go on May 15th, 2015. Catch them on our Hunnypot night at The Mint July 27th,
Hunnypot’s 319th edition of the radio show brought a wide ranged variety of genres to the stage. Hot Tub Johnnie started off the night with music from Major Lazer, Icona Pop, Mochipet, Galantis, Chloe Riley, Bobbie Gentry, Polyenso, PHASES, and much more.
Tony Von Pervieux stopped by for the night as our music industry guest and did a DJ set that included Justice, Same Dew, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves, Beck, Rivvrs, Big Data, SonReal, and Cyucas. We talked to him about his music choices for the set and what’s going to be going on in his future.
Tamarind Free Jones started our live set with her mix of Indian, pop and folk. She began her set with a harmonium and a tradition Indian vocal melody. As she continued she told a story through her lyrics and created powerful imagery. Her music was filled with peace and enlightenment.
Paper Pilots amped up the crowd with their set. They performed both of their hit singles “Arrow” and “Free Ride” and everyone went wild. They say they are influenced by pop and alternative rock and that is exactly what they delivered. No one was just sitting down and watching during their set.
Coming back to more of a relaxed and acoustic sound, Topher Mohr started his set with an original called “Red Line Express” and it slowly graduated to a killer guitar solo in his last song “Mirror in the Bathroom”. Everyone was picking up his or her jaws by the end of his set. He has traveled the world and managed to incorporate everything he has experienced into his music and it radiates when you watch him perform live.
GOBI closed out the night with their mix of indie and electronic. They has incredible energy on stage and no one was standing still. They mixed live performance and electronic music and created this perfect combination. Chuco Phil, the vocalist, created powerful visuals through his lyrics that kept the audience captivated and wanting more. We couldn’t have asked for a better closer for the radio show.
A HUGE THANKS to everyone who joined us for the Hunnypot Radio Show! Join us every other Monday night at The Mint to hear these underground artists that are rising fast to the top of the popularity! 06/29/2015
Tony began his career in music management working as an assistant for Aaron Walton Entertainment; an entertainment company specializing in management for a variety of talented artists. He then transitioned over to independent music supervision by working as an assistant to Dawn Soler. Dawn has been supervising Film and TV for over twenty years, working on such movies as Dumb and Dumber, Princess Diaries I & II, Catwoman, Dead Man Walking, Hollywood Homicide, Enchanted and more. Tony co-supervised some films with Dawn and a few on his own before making the jump to TV as a music supervisor for the hit series Ugly Betty. He independently supervised Ugly Betty for the first season and simultaneously was hired by ABC Studios to work as Creative Director for the TV music department. ABC Studios has produced many successful on-air shows for multiple broadcast and cable networks. Some of the series shows include Army Wives, Castle, Cougar Town, Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Happy Endings, Nashville, Once Upon A Time, Private Practice, Revenge, and Scandal. Over the course of six years at ABC Studios, he oversaw all aspects of music for their shows and assisted with providing music for the ABC Marketing & Promo department with their TV campaigns.
Currently, Tony is supervising several shows under creator Bill Lawrence including Cougar Town, Surviving Jack, UnDateable and Ground Floor.
He also manages the artist Rivvrs who will release his first EP in August.
Oh ya, we're also celebrating Tony's Birthday!
After a hiatus to record and tour the world with artists such as Mayer Hawthorne and Alice Smith, Topher Mohr returned as a solo artist in 2013 with the release of his second studio album, “Phlotilla”. Songs off the album began finding their way onto other non-commercial stations such as the storied KCRW in Los Angeles and was a featured “My Morning Download” at WXPN Philadelphia. He was also featured on Vice Magazine's Noisey music blog.
Mohr, an Ann Arbor, Michigan native, grew up absorbing the diversity and culture of the university town as well as the rich musical history of nearby Detroit. He spent his teenage years touring regionally with a funk and soul outfit and was recognized as "Outstanding Instrumentalist" on several occasions at the Detroit Music Awards.
Lately Topher has been working with fellow Ann Arbor native, Mayer Hawthorne. Topher appeared as a musician on Mayer Hawthorne’s critically acclaimed "A Strange Arrangement" and “How Do You Do” released on Stones Throw Records and Universal Republic, respectively.
Armed with years of world traveling and musical collaborations, Topher is once again back in the studio working on his upcoming LP “Phlowers” to be released early 2015.
Tamarind grew up on a small island in Fiji, where she studied ballet, yoga, and Indian singing. At the age of 17 she left to study Indian Classical music with Ali Akbar Khan at his college in California. She soon became very dedicated to the intricacies of Indian music and stayed for many years becoming one of Ali Akbar Khan's advanced students, eventually performing and teaching.
While at The Ali Akbar College, Tamarind also toured with UK-based ariel dance company "Fidget Feet" where she sang and danced suspended in the sky from a crane above crowds of thousands. She has performed in many countries including Ireland, England, Italy, Fiji, and across the United States. And through out her travels she has collaborated with artists from a variety of genres including Loop Guru, Talvin Singh, Jack Irons, Alex Gibson, Facing East, Nick Milo, Gawain Mathews, and Sammy Chand.
Tamarind's recent album, "Hansa" is a beautiful collection of ancient Indian prayers and poems set to original music using a variety of Western and Eastern instruments, arrangements, and production. Recorded and produced by Gawain Mathews (Mickey Hart, Ben Lee, Zion I, Ben Leinbach, Tim Hockenberry, Lara Johnston) and Tamarind.
GOBI's debut release "Gold On Black Ice (Deluxe) LP", takes the Austin-based trio's indie-dance style and adds new depths, allowing the bass and beats to drive fans to the dance floor, but also creating images of fading dreams and a nostalgic yearning for the past. It is rare to find this type of dimension from a band known for turning Texas clubs into blazing dance floors, but GOBI has achieved the balance of meshing dark, sometimes cinematic beats, with the mosaic of imagery that vocalist Chuco Phil delivers through tight rap inspired flows and melodic choruses. GOBI's newest single "Dream With Me" seems to rise from a place that is both comfort and pain, a landscape that soothes with swooping synth tones, and haunts with a touching grace.
On the LP, Justin Dillon accomplishes the majority of the heavy electronic emphasis in the production, using analog synths and modern plug-ins, taking cues and inspiration from the likes of Deadmau5 and Nero, but the band is far from pushing play when it comes to their live performance. Though GOBI presents itself on record as an electronic heavy group, drummer Matthew Kevin Dunn adds a live element that is a spiritual awakening for percussion enthusiasts.
In a city known for music, the band's energy fueled live show has gained them Austin Music Foundation's artist of the month, and last summer the mayor of Austin declared June 6th as GOBI day. GOBI has shared the stage and opened for acts ranging from: G-Eazy, The Cool Kids, and Chiddy Bang, to Dj's such as MSTRKRFT, Treasure Fingers, Z-Trip, Paper Diamond, and new dance groups Big Gigantic, Future Rock, and Nobody Beats the Drum. GOBI has showcased and performed at Insomniac's Nocturnal Fest, Neon Desert Music Fest, Bacardi+ Fest, Red Guerrilla Music Fest, and the Pachanga Music Festival. The band's re-release of their debut LP "Gold On Black Ice" will include 5 unreleased songs and will be available February 10, 2015.
Los Angeles-based Paper Pilots release two new singles August 12th combining elements of Britpop aesthetic and melody with the vibrant characteristics of current alt-rock and pop production.
“Arrow” begins with a riff that hints at The Zombies before steadily driving into a wall of guitars and flaunting explosive drums of the early-90?s UK dubstep, later honed by Tame Impala. The second single “Free Ride” offers contemporary indie pop with reference to The Jam, Julian Casablancas’ solo work, and the tight electronic dance rhythms of Ratatat.
Paper Pilots recently made an appearance in the Season 6 finale of HBO’s True Blood, performing three songs from their self-titled EP. Both “Arrow” and “Free Ride” have been heard on KROQ, KCRW, and KCSN, showcasing production work from Sean Walsh (Neon Trees, Chromeo), Ülysses Nöriega (The Wedding Present, The Mars Volta), Angelo Caputo (Lana Del Rey, Imagine Dragons), and John Girgus (Aberdeen, C.A.G.E.)

Our guest for the night was Grammy Award-Winning music industry executive and personal manager Vicky Hamilton. She played her own set tonight consisting of David Bowie, Artic Monkeys, Ana Cristnia, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and of course the Daniel R Instrumental of Patience by Guns N Roses.
Opening for our live music segment was Diana Meyer. After hearing her on Vicky Hamilton’s set, we were able to listen to her in a very intimate and acoustic setting. She has been playing guitar and writing songs every since she was a little girl, and is currently working on her second EP.
Next were long time friends 222, and their special guest Tasha Jones on drums. Their set was electric with Jade on vocals and guitar, and with Dennis on bass.
Jasmine Jordan truly is an emerging artist we should all be looking at. She has the gift of a voice and beautiful songs that bring out certain emotions you forgot you had. With her passionate storytelling, and her soulful performance, she took the audience on a journey.
Bringing to the show something salty, sweet and a little bit of everything else, Hot Sauce Holiday captured the crowd with their skits, outfits, and lets not forget about their dancers. The Dishrag Burlesque dancers got the crowd involved and loving it. Hot Sauce Holiday blew our collective minds with their supercharged Rock/Cabaret hybrid live performance. Truly Spectacular, Hedwig and OK Go's drunkin' party offspring.
Closing out the night was Unpredictable R.E.D. and that he really was. Representing Watts, California he brought to life his lyrics and has a voice that he turns into an instrument. Everyone in the room was captured by his stage presence.
BIG THANKS to everyone who came out to the 318th Hunnypot Radio Show! Join us every other Monday night at The Mint and help us bring these underground artists to the surface so everyone can hear their talent. 06/15/2015
Long time Grammy Award-Winning music industry executive and personal manager, featured in VH-1s Behind the Music, Driven and the Biography Channel's on Guns 'N' Roses, Brett Michaels, and Mötley Crüe and the BBC series Born To Be Wild, The Golden Age Of American Rock.
Considered one of the most successful music executives in the industry, Vicky has discovered, developed or managed the careers of Guns 'N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Faster Pussycat and many others.
In 1988, David Geffen hired her as A&R executive at Geffen Records, where she stayed until 1992. She has also worked with famed manager Elliot Roberts at Lookout Management/ Vapor Records, before moving to Capitol Records as A&R consultant with longtime friend Gary Gersh.
At the House of Blues after watching Johnny Cash perform, Rick Rubin (Def Jam, American, Columbia Records) suggested she make a record with June Carter Cash. Hamilton shopped June's demos around to all the major labels but there was a reluctance to sign this country legend. This is when Vicky started her own label Small Hairy Dog and gave June a label to call home. Her CD, Press On was released in 1999 and earned a Grammy Award in 2000. As Hamilton later stated, “I didn’t plan on starting a record company, I just knew that June’s music needed to be heard.”
Currently, Vicky owns and operates Aesthetic V management and productions, which represents and develops bands, artist and special projects. Her new documentary, Until The Music Ends is currently in production, and features Slash. Her two feature length scripts, Metal Maven and Gothic City are also complete and currently being shopped. Glitter Beach, the glam rock surf musical is in development, and has secured Hollywood "It" boy director, Daniel Henning. Glitter Beach had it’s first reading in Spring of 2011 and is set to workshop in 2013.
Hamilton is currently managing Diana Meyer, Hillbilly Herald, Talk Like June and her autobiography co-authored by Iris Berry, is in process.

There are not enough words to describe Diana Meyer. Growing up she didn’t fit in at school and she didn’t fit in at home. With nowhere to turn she found comfort in music and the freedom to express the feelings she tucked inside. She was especially intrigued by punk rock and through it she soon found a connection to others like her. At a very young age she had an impeccable ear for music. Her mother being her very first and number one fan knew she had a talent. Without anyone’s approval she gave Diana her very first guitar. Diana then spent many school days at home in her bedroom learning songs by ear. She always dreamed of fronting a band; rocking out on a Les Paul and sharing her words to express what others like her might be feeling, but can’t let out.
Her fans were estatic over her first solo EP released in June 2013 called A Place Where The Sun Never Goes Down. She released an amusing yet polished music video for the first song off the EP called “Wake Up” to share her playful side as well as a dramatically emotional video for her song called "Say That You Love Me".
Diana is consistently writing songs and is currently working on a second EP.

Formed in 2014 in Los Angeles, 222 met in the early 2000s after relocating to LA (Jade from Tucson, AZ, Dennis from Cincinnati, OH). In 2006 the 2 started a sound company for T.V. and film and has worked on some of the most reputable music documentaries to date such as "Troubadours", "PJ20", and the Oscar Award Winning "Twenty Feet From Stardom". Most recently they filmed the recording of Lost On the River: The new Basement tapes in which modern artist interpret songs from recently resurfaced Bob Dylan Lyrics.
Although longtime friends they only recently discovered their musical chemistry. 222 live is Jade on vocals and guitar and Dennis on drums, vocals, and live sequencing, switching up instrumentation and bringing in special live guests from time to time.
The song "One Night Stand" was put out as a pre-released single on 12/14/15 from the two's debut album, "Libretto" and first aired on KROQ's Rodney Bingenheimer's show "Rodney on the Roq" along with a second pre-release "Fair Weather Send-Off".
On 2/21/15, the band gave a rousing live debut performance at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA, a prelude to the release of their debut album "Libretto" released on 2/22. The whole album being homegrown was written, recorded, performed and produced by Jade and Dennis at their studio in Encino, CA.

Jasmine Jordan explores the different facets of love coming from a strong, confident, yet still imperfect person, to create rich stories that are heartfelt and empowering. Incorporating the soulfulness of Groove Theory, the sweetness of early Mariah Carey, and the sexiness and edge of Aaliyah, Jasmine stands out in the trending alternative pool with her timeless lyrics and sound.
Breaking into the music scene summer of 2014, already the Olympia, WA-raised songwriter has been named by urban tastemakers, including DJ Booth, Singersroom, and You Know I Got Soul, as an emerging artist to watch.

Hot Sauce Holiday is for everyone that wants to kick over their office desks and start dancing. We are for the eccentric outsiders, the burners, and the lovers. Join us in taking on the banality of convention.
Hot Sauce Holiday is a four piece cabaret rock band from Los Angeles. Their live shows emphasize crowd participation and a great deal of improv. Bongo-solos, skits, poetry, and dance numbers have been known to break out. They have been known to feature burlesque dancers, hula hoop artists, and scandalous routines involving Playboy playmates. Genre-wise the sound varies from song to song drawing influence from 60's psychedelic and folk, to early punk, 80's electro, disco, and even a bit of barbershop. The song lyrics are surreal and rely more on wit than vulgarity. Every band member trades off on vocals or sings in harmonies. In addition to over 20 originals the band has a variety of party cover songs they are able to play ranging from George Michaels to Motorhead. The band goes over with a variety of age groups and has won over even the most cynical critics. They've opened for metal bands, comedians, singer-songwriters, and electronic acts.
So leave the outside world behind you for a couple hours and come experience the originality, joy, and chaos that is Hot Sauce Holiday.
