They hit the stage afterwards to perform a guitartastic, bombastic, glitter and heels rock n' roll revue. Binx made an African Bee-Line back to Hunnypot for another amazing bug eyed pop and dance extravaganza. In an era of computer-made, beat-driven music, Grand Canyon is the antithesis of modern pop music. However, focusing on classic sounds and arrangements and drawing on the inspiration of 70s musicianship and timeless songwriting, it is the kind of music that will be wafting through the canyons for a long time.
The Los Angeles based rock and roll band, fronted by Casey Shea (guitar/vocals) and Amy Wilcox (vocals), and driven by Joe Guese (guitar), Darice Bailey (keys, vocals), Jon Cornell (bass), and Fitz Harris (drums) has self-recorded a debut album that is out now on Bodan Kuma Recordings.

Shield your eyes, mortals - Blame Candy has landed. The extraterrestrial, FUTUREGLAMROCK quartet has descended upon Planet Earth with a guitar-heavy rock and roll mythos guaranteed to twist human nature on its head and thrust it into the outskirts of the stratosphere. Whether they’re dazzling concert-goers with lightning-speed instrumental virtuosity, gyrating in flawless synchronicity, or subverting social norms with gender-bending sartorial irreverence, Blame Candy leaves a glittery trail of destruction wherever they roam.
The band’s bedrock is built upon its dynamic and flamboyant live performance, which ringmaster Chris Greatti describes as a “reckless and animalistic release of primal energy. Dressed to impress!” The rambunctious opener “Sweet Tooth” muses on addiction to “rock and roll symphonies” amidst winding, neoclassical guitar flurries, while the choreographed “Pathetic” dutifully illustrates the bands knack for earworm melodies and penchant for onstage theatrics. Citing classic influences like Van Halen, Queen and Prince, as well as modern kinfolk Radiohead and Tame Impala, Blame Candy’s entity is undoubtedly eccentric and eclectic, and its live show is a must-see hard rock phenomenon unlike any before. In Greatti’s words, “Blame Candy’s music is music for the 2020’s and beyond. The future of rock and roll is staring you in the face in matching red vestments. Take my hand and join us.”

Jude Rose is a singer and music producer based out of Chicago. His music is a unique brand of R&B that pulls you in and lingers in your consciousness even moments after its end. The 27-year old multi-instrumentalist produced a record layered with dark, moody sounds, pulsating synth, heartfelt melodies, and lyrics about personal experiences. In that regard, his artistry is comparable to recording artists such as Joji and Blackbear. With a sensual essence and captivating stage presence, Jude Rose has already begun to garner the attention of major record labels.
The emotional scars of the young songwriter’s past have provided a vivid backdrop for his sentimental subject matter and his introspective lyrical content. That notion is the very foundation that Rose used to create his upcoming single, Lose . “ Someone that I love had depression and anxiety. It got really bad to the point where she had thoughts of hurting herself or committing suicide. I was anxious and I didn’t know how to process it, ” said Jude Rose. “So (Lose) was just me being able to process it. The song is my promise to her. I will lose my mind and my touch before I ever lose her.”

Glowie's new single "Body" is making an impression. A self-confessed ADHD loner with a lot of emotions, Glowie was bullied at school, which resulted in an unhealthy relationship with her body. Today however, Glowie displays makeup-free selfies on Instagram and t-shirts proclaiming, “a woman’s body is her own fucking business!”
Knowing the importance of taking care of yourself both physically and mentally, proud feminist Glowie is conscious of spreading not just body positivity, but pure honesty both on social media and with her music. “Art is not supposed to look nice, it’s supposed to make you feel something. I’m tired of trying to look nice for other people and being a certain way to make people like me. This year I am not going to be flawless, I’m going to be me, happy, emotional. I will paint, sing, dance and work my ass off.”
The track, which was written by Julia Michaels along with Justin Tranter, Mattias Larsson and Robin Fredriksson, is available now at all digital retail providers via Sony Music U.K./RCA Records.

Live life loud!
New Year, who's with? Oh, the things we've seen in 2019. Our first Hunnypot Live of the year, #407, dropped serious balls. Hot Tub launched a no-baloney DJ set tp start everyone off. Emmy nominated music supervisor Jen Malone returned to the tub to fill us in on what she's been up to in film and TV and "Ghost'd" us with an award winner of a DJ set. Jesse Palter Old Lang Sang her heart out for us with pop and soul panache. Baby Fuzz put rock, pop and pomp hairs on our chests and bandleader/songwriter Sterling Fox got a few minutes of soak time to bring us up to speed on the band. The Songery was the Baby Nuke Year and irradiated us with song and dance. Rae Khalil "repped, spit and chilled" with mindful music and Hot Tub Johnnie closed the first night of many this year with another historic dance party set. 01/07/2019
Jen Malone is an Emmy Nominated Music Supervisor based in West Hollywood.
Credits include: Creed II, Atlanta, Baskets, Step Up: High Water, The Resident, Are You The One?, Lady Dynamite, Shelter, Noisey, Vice Guide To Everything, Video Game High School and many more.
Jen Malone started her career in the music industry as a publicist at Formula PR, working for Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy and many more. While living in Boston she formed the boutique publicity agency, Black & White and represented several artists and labels including The Hellacopters, The Hives, Backyard Babies, The Wildhearts, Gearhead Records and Hydrahead Records to name a few.

By the time she officially signed to Artistry Music and began honing the setlist for the release of her debut EP The Paper Trail, Jesse Palter had written an astounding number of songs. Every time she sidles up to the piano to pen a new one, the Detroit born and bred, Los Angeles based singer/songwriter commits herself to the discipline of perfecting her craft. Strengthening her creative muscles and figuring out what melodies, lyrics and chord changes work best, she allows herself to be vulnerable, brave and brutally honest at the same time. .
Helping Jesse develop her sound and overall vision is producer Doug Petty, who came into her life as a fan of her vocals and songwriting before she had signed her record deal with Artistry Music. Petty, also a veteran keyboardist who has worked with the likes of Nick Lachey, Celine Dion, Audra McDonald, Britney Spears, Lisa Loeb and Shawn Colvin, agreed to produce her material whether she had a label or not. What Jesse calls his “meticulous, mad scientist approach to production” allowed her to keep the integrity of her songs from demo through the many layers and textures he brought forth. Testament to Jesse’s artistry is the caliber of studio musicians who were invited to play on the project – including bassists Tim Lefebvre and Alex Al and drummers Matt Chamberlain and Aaron Sterling.
Jesse grew up a multi-instrumentalist (piano, trumpet, etc.) with parents whose passion for an eclectic array of music inspired her to deeply respect the art of great songs and songwriters, from Carole King and Joni Mitchell to Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and The Beatles. Her multitude of talents as a vocalist and songwriter of strength and depth are showcased powerfully on the five tracks of The Paper Trail EP.

Baby FuzZ, the latest project from songwriter Sterling Fox, is an alt rock/glam pop band with a rotating cast of contributors, band members, and characters. Baby FuzZ's music fuses a number of styles from emo to rock and roll to strange ballads, while the live show is theatrical and absurd.
Described as “one of the most slept on acts in music” by Hillydilly, Baby FuzZ has released a litany of singles and bizarrely brilliant videos in 2018 and is dropping a full length album Plastic Paradise at the end of January. In the past, Fox, the frontman of the group, produced “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey and has written songs for the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, and Avicii.

Writing songs that deal with every color and nuance of life, The Songery aims to push mental boundaries through genre-bending pop and theatrics. The concepts, ideas, and messages behind the songs are more important than the songs themselves and every move, every sound, every visual is developed with care and intent in a final attempt to peel back the mask that humanity can so easily wear.
When asked why one person would decide to call herself “The Songery” she replies, “The Songery is more than a persona. It is a call to arms, a spearhead signaling for spiritual awakening, symbolic of an ideology that the world seems to be lacking severely and yet constantly surrounds us. For this reason, my project is grounded in story-line, integrity, concept, and character. I feel very secondary- as if I am the one driving the car, and it’s my car… but I am not the car. The Songery is a name I feel very intertwined with, I feel it so perfectly encapsulates the whimsical world I strive to show people. I’m not quite there yet. I’m still developing, completely on my own, so it is a process… but I’ll get there.”
-I also feel the name gives me freedom to play with all these abstracts and to adopt such a wide range of tones and subject matter. Some very light, some very dark, ranging substantially in color yet all unified within this world. I have been writing songs and performing since I was a little girl, and never really had the belief that I could or should be trying to make a career out of it… until The Songery came along. It sparked a purpose within me. I believe in The Songery with such passion that I want to keep fighting until I see it realized. The Songery comes with power to me. It is more than me. It is bigger than me. If I forfeited the name, the music would not feel the same. Nothing would feel the same. It would not be the same.
The Songery loves Jonsi, Sigur Ros, Regina Spektor, Danny Elfman, Queen, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Beethoven, all the random hits of the 80s, and pretty much any film score.

Hunnypot Aprroved!
The motto at Hunnypot Live is "Smock 'em if you got 'em". We sure did that on Monday night. Show #406 was our winter holiday party and last show of the year and we did celebrate. Our true love, Hot Tub Johnnie, gave to us an opening set of good tidings music. (Christmas) Tree Adams hung and stocked us with care with an interview about his career as a band guy and a film and television composer. Then he jumped right down the chimney with his band Dagnasterpus and funked the audience right in their faces. Trishes brought us to musical ecstasy with multiple....personalities electronic pop/ Everyone got Heather Cole in their stockings and it was an amazing pop music gift. Mt. Vrnon rose just like an empress above the mid city and h2the fueled the dance party with a set that could have lasted for 8 days. 12/10/2018
Recap: J. Gray Photos: J. Gray, R. Taalbi, Juice
Tree Adams approaches the sound of a wooden spoon mashing potatoes, church bells tolling in Corsica, or air pushing through a tube mic pre with equal interest. Any of these could inspire a fresh way to tell a story with music, which is what he does. Equally at home conducting a large orchestra, programming beats in the studio, cranking out loud guitar solos in an amphitheater or arranging vocal parts with a gospel choir, Tree lives to create original and unique work for his every project.
Over the past 20 years, Tree’s adventures in film and television have given him the opportunity to collaborate with great talent in diverse styles. Current projects include an epic scifi score for Jason Rothenberg’s The 100 (CW), which is rife with dark soundscape, Middle Eastern colors and orchestral themes. Warner Bros/Water Tower has released 3 soundtracks of Tree’s score for The 100. For NCIS: New Orleans, Tree layers contemporary high energy procedural pulses and textures with New Orleans inflected blues/jazz ensemble elements and voodoo. The Freshman series‘Lethal Weapon called for him to score hip-hop-driven car chases, comedic cop banter and tender moments underscoring a range of relationships. Ken Biller’s international espionage thriller, Legends (TNT) featured a more minimalist approach combining solo celo and electronic soundscapes. For the John Hertzfeld’s redemption film Reach Me (Millenium Films), a traditional orchestral score. A gritty rock score for Californication (Showtime), an urgent cerebral score for the crime drama, Perception (TNT) a high energy electronica score for action/thriller Run (Millenium Films.) A dusty western score for Swelter and gritty hip hop grooves for Denis Leary and Bob Fisher’s comedy Sirens (USA).
Tree was somewhat reluctantly immersed in classical piano training at an early age. When he was around 10 years old, he heard Hendrix, at which point he picked up the guitar and found his love o’ the sport. He spent most of the ‘90s on the road as the frontman for a rock band called The Hatters, who released several records on Atlantic. They were road warrioirs, touring with bands like The Allman Brothers, Tribe Called Quest, King Sunny Ade and Jimmy Cliff. While in the studio recording the band’s last album, Tree had the opportunity to produce an end title song for a studio feature film and he had his first taste of music as an applied art. He found the process of working to picture exciting and intriguing and when his band dissolved later that year, Tree set out on a new course as a composer.
Since then, Tree has enjoyed collaborating with filmmakers to craft music with storytelling, where he employs an expansive musical palette in his adventures in film and television.
A true raconteur, Tree unveiled the first of his six issue graphic novel series DUSKRIDERS in spring 2017. The story chronicles the perils and pursuits of a three-man renegade army fighting to save a dying Earth and avenge the murder of protagonist Dublyn Stinson’s father. The comic was released digitally, along with a self-titled soundtrack, and is available at DuskridersComic.com.
Born in Berkeley, raised in New York City, Tree lives on the east side of Los Angeles with his wife and kids.

Trishes is a project by Trinidadian native Trish Hosein, created to express Freud's constructs of self (the primal, conscious and spiritual) through spoken word, live looping and vocal effects. Her undeniably original songwriting, fleshed out by hip-hop beats and pop hooks, examines human struggle through an anthropological lens.
Hosein began touring the U.S. and abroad after graduating from the Berklee College of Music, and has opened for acts like Damian Marley, Vic Mensa, K. Flay, Neon Hitch and Gavin Turek. Her dynamic live show awes audiences as Hosein takes them into her museum-like mind and creates a sonic blanket with her unique sound. After seeing Hosein perform Marie Claire, Allure and Cosmopolitan writer Shyema Azam called it "Enchanting," continuing, "It wasn't hard to see that this one woman show was super talented, making her own music and expertly layering her voice over catchy tunes as she went along."
Hosein's upcoming album "Ego" focuses on the entities that define humanity while addressing the current cultural and political climate. Each focus track on the album will be aided by art collections and personal essays. When not working on music, Hosein helps resettle refugees in the Los Angeles area, volunteers with Rock n Roll Camp for Girls, and is on the board of the Elder Entertainment Organization. She is also a brand ambassador for American Express and Discover LA.

Emerging pop artist, Heather Cole teams a compelling vocal talent with heart, passion, and ability to connect and move a room full of music listeners. Heather explains, " What I love most about music is how it connects people through shared experiences. Making and sharing music is like a group therapy session. Sometimes it's just letting loose and dancing, and sometimes its admitting a mistake, sometimes its declaring to choose yourself over a relationship. No matter what it is, we all have personal experiences we want to share. The best way for me to do that is through my music."
The Los Angeles based Alaska native is influenced by powerhouse pop artists, such as Katy Perry. Justin Timberlake, and Demi Lovato, Cole's music portrays her ability to balance a soft and vulnerable side with sultry confidence.
In 2015, Cole released her first co-written track a song called "Not that Smart", which is a duet with fellow Belmont classmate and former American Idol finalist, Rayvon Owen. Soon after she released "Hearts Will Break" to radio. Gaining attention from iHeart Radio's "Most Requested Live with Romeo," Cole visited Top 40 stations across the country, being touted for her engaging and authentic personality, along with her ability to capture an audience. Cat Thomas, VP of Top 40 at Cumulus, bragged, "[Heather Cole] is a real artist. When you meet her, you know she has the 'IT' factor.
Earlier this year, Heather released her debut EP entitled "One of Our Hearts," which is also a visual project. Cole tells the story of one relationship, beginning to end through music and film. Cole created the concept, wrote the script, co-choreographed the dancing, and was the overall creative director for this video project.
"Everyday Lover" is the first single from her new project. "When I wrote this song with Abe Stewart and Rhett Fisher, I was happily in a relationship I wanted to hang out with everyday."

Mt. Vrnon is an indie folk project born in Los Angeles, CA. Their music blends layered harmonies, retro synths and acoustic sounding programmed beats, to create a sound that transcends genres. The sound and songs have a dreamlike quality disguising ardent, introspective lyrics in trans-formative textures and expansive reverb.
“Brilliantly blending 80’s synths with an new cutting edge sampling style, rising hip hop/experimental producer h2the released his debut single titled “Taste Of The“, a teaser/cut-up off his new beat tape exclusively available on cassette!” – UGHH
URB Magazine wrote that “[h2the] is something else…in a profound kind of way,” calling his sound titillating and “juicy for the ears,” while The Village Voice described his productions as “adventurous and banging.”
2DOPEBOYZ and Vibe Magazine’s allhiphop.com have also noted h2the’s rap flips of 80?s inspired sonics. It’s the producer as auteur as every track takes you through the emotional space of the artist, like Kanye or Godard.
Laroussi’s vocals are beautifully rich and well produced. I’m not really sure what is supposed to be attached to her beautiful face. Is it a face sucker from the movie Alien? Its eye catching whatever it may be and for that reason perhaps makes it the focal talking point of the music video which has a visual similarity to Adele’s “Send My Love (To Your New Lover).” The slow motion shattered glass at the end is certainly a metaphor for the psyche. The lyrics repeatedly stressing the fact that she gets lost sometimes and perhaps we are left with the feeling that with this explosion she is finally becoming free from any of her inhibitions. Lost somehow manages to be reminiscent of late 90s introspections like Alanis Morisette’s "Thank U" and Madonna’s “Ray Of Light.” The video ends with what sounds like a child talking about bullying which within the context of the video makes the whole song a possible look at the inner child that just wants to be loved. Lyrically the song seems to deal with themes of loneliness in the face of personal challenges. In the end I think it is a good anthem for being brave in spite of fears and perhaps the mask on Laroussi’s face is just hiding her vulnerability and protecting a joyous smile beneath.
