It is also called Sirius Prime – a secret star chain between Sirius A and Sirius B. He currently resides in the Tristix Province. Ryan A. Wallace

Ryan Wallace

Introducing Ryan A. Wallace, a visionary at the young age of 30. Hailing from the vibrant city of Mount Vernon, New York, with Jamaican roots running deep.

Ryan's journey is a testament to his pursuit of knowledge. He holds an Associates in Business Administration from San Diego Mesa College, another Associates in Applied Sciences and Applied Technologies from Central Texas College, and not to forget, a Bachelor's in Management Information Systems from San Diego State University.

But it's not just about academics for Ryan. In 2015, while stationed in Spain during his final years in the United States Navy, he and his best friend, Lovans Florial, dreamt up an idea that would change the game. Lonely Floater, born in 2016, started as an apparel brand for creatives searching for unique self-expression.

However, they soon realized their magnetic pull toward music and visual artists. Thus, Lonely Floater transformed into a Multimedia Marketing Agency, firmly rooted in Arts & Entertainment, with a special focus on Hip Hop, Electronic Dance Music, and Rock & Roll.

Their community is a haven for creative souls seeking unconventional ways to express themselves. They thrive on individualism within the crowd and proudly defy adversity. You can join their movement by snagging some of their innovative clothing at www.LonelyFloater.com.

Their mission is clear: provide a stage for those who feel left out of the mainstream and unite them with something inclusive to share. They're rewriting the script on today's artists, pop culture, underground events, and music festivals.

Ryan's journey doesn't stop there. He teamed up with an ensemble of talented individuals – Matt Wallace, Max Wallet, Zach Heinrich, Jake Moats, and Johnathan Mackie – to create The San Diego Unified Bass District (SdubD or The Bass District). It's a grassroots multi-genre musical and artistic movement that shines a spotlight on emerging musicians from Southern California and beyond.

What sets them apart is their commitment to breaking free from genre constraints, giving artists from diverse backgrounds the chance to connect and collaborate. Their success stems from sheer determination and the boundless creativity of their diverse team.

Every year, they host the legendary Moonlight Mirage music festival, where House, Bass, Hip-Hop, and Rock and Roll artists come together on two mind-blowing stages. It's a genre-blurring experience you won't find anywhere else, and it's a must-attend event.

But that's not all. Aux & Mic is one of the experiential offerings created to expand and fortify the Lowbtk Floater, The Bass District, and Moonlight Mirage collectives.

Aux & Mic is a groundbreaking live performance freestyle collaboration event that brings together the finest artists and producers from the realms of HipHop, Rap, RnB, and electronic sounds. JESSICA CARTER ALTMAN

JESSICA CARTER ALTMAN

Raised in Potomac, Maryland, Jessica Carter Altman was surrounded by a strong and supportive family. Her mother, the legendary Lynda Carter, helped build a steadfast sense of self in the singer and her father, Robert A. Altman instilled a love for law and philanthropy. Wrapped in an insatiable well of creativity and public service, Jessica followed along in her father’s footsteps, starting a law career after graduating from the University of Michigan Law School. Her desire to help others and be a voice for those who are often silenced propelled Jessica into a successful and impactful imprint at Gibson Dunn — only to realize in 2020 that she felt like her actions spoke louder through the words she’d lace together in song.

Understanding Jessica’s childhood passion for music is another key to understanding just why, despite her profound respect for the legal profession, she had to shift gears and pursue her career full-time. She has fond childhood memories of listening to everything from popular bands of the 90’s to Nina Simone, Etta James, The Rolling Stones, Mary Chapin-Carpenter and Trisha Yearwood and pulls from an eclectic catalog of musical influences including Billie Holliday, Amy Winehouse, and Boygenius to name a few.

Jessica’s music exposes some of the deepest and most difficult human emotions but does so wrapped in warmth, allowing the listener to approach these feelings head-on and embrace them alongside her. The singer evokes the feeling of having a private conversation with her audience, bridging the gap between artistry and humanity that resonates with the many layers of living that exist.

If you were to ask him, Tricky would call himself a “citizen of the American underground”, a place that isn’t so much one location but many, and a wide network of communities that he has existed in since he was a teenager. “The basement show, the warehouse rave, the generator show under the bridge, the art show in some abandoned building with a stage built in it and 20 people living there,” Youth says. “That’s where I got my upbringing, around brilliant artists in the worlds of punk, noise, and hip-hop, freely expressing themselves as outside of capitalism as they could and forming communities that sought to live by an ethos that rejected the dominant culture. I carry that through the art I make today."

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by the 21st Century. Anyone? Anyone? Those of you too cool to raise your hand, don’t worry. We’ve clocked your shifty side eyes, recorded your scoffs and gave them to Doll Machine to synthesize your discontent. Just kidding. She did it all on her own. Bleep blooped her power buttons, tapped in Body Bagg Jonez and barfed out “Weirdo”, a DGAF protest anthem dedicated to the true art of the indie record.

Hopefully that description didn’t conjure up a scenescape of muted, psychedelic lo-fi bass addled by placid, oversaturated distortion currently corporatizing the ‘indie genre’. Of course, there really is no such genre and no metadata tag can catalog indie music according to its sound. Though a euphemism for a low-budget production, as the take-it-or-leave-it sibling of punk, the true spirit of an indie record implies de facto authenticity, which Doll Machine carries in spades.

Weirdo’s apathetic production, coupled with equally lethargic vocals, communicates the soft aggression of an eye roll. The lyrics get to the point - a middle finger to the social trends, priorities and trappings of the social media mood du jour. Flowing between contradictions and criticisms of beauty standards, winks to crypto and mental heath hacks, "Weirdo" boasts a resentful awareness of what’s cool, or maybe even more accurate, what’s profitable.

The chorus croons, “we don’t need your advice to be something/ we don’t want to believe/ we’re not gonna do what you want /no one said we could be bought”. If buying into the pressure is what makes someone cool, then rejecting that pressure must make someone a weirdo. But weirdos need friends too and Body Bagg Jonez’s welcomed feature serves as positive reinforcement to Doll Machine’s attitudes, putting a friend and some chill vibes in her corner.

The video, though unequivocally low-budget, showcases our two weirdos just hanging no place special. It looks like it was a good time to shoot and offers something so oft missing in music videos of any scale: personality. The asides and impromptu dialog enhance how intimate Doll Machine and Body Bagg Jonez are with the setting and adds a fun, potentially parasocial element to the production. These weirdos are our friends. Hunnypot Approved.

#491 One word, EPIC!

The night was ablaze as Hunnypot residency Fencer took the stage, unleashing an explosive performance that matched the intensity of the grandest festivals. Their high-octane energy was unparalleled, making it a must-see show before festival prices come knocking! The excitement surged as queer, alt-pop sensation X. Ari rocked the crowd, leaving everyone on their feet and wanting more.

But the surprises didn't end there! The closing act, Electric Lecture, brought a special twist with none other than Hunnypot's own Jeff Gray joining in for a groovy collaboration. Their 70's style Americana music had the entire room swaying and moving, while their thought-provoking songs on crucial cultural topics struck a chord with the audience.

A heartfelt thank you to Tara Finegan from Cutting Edge for co-hosting this magical night and sharing her vast industry knowledge. With each show like #491, we're inching closer to the momentous milestone of #500. ELECTRIC LECTURE

ELECTRIC LECTURE

Electric Lecture are the combined creative forces of Greg AnsinBronson Taalbi and Anthony J. Resta The story of Electric Lecture started in 1991, in Massachusetts. Before Bronson was even born., the third member of the group, produced a record called “Secede” for a band called Sleight of Hand. Greg played guitar in that group. They have been friends and making music since that time. Fast forward to 2019, at a Los Angeles club where Ansin asked Bronson “if he had rehearsal space?” Bronson said, “No.” So the journey began in what would become Electric Lecture and their debut album due out this fall. Compelled by impossible forces, guided by convictions of indifference, the three musicians are about to give a lecture... and it's going to be....... ELECTRIC.

This single “What If,” off the forthcoming self-titled album, out this fall, started from a guitar riff Anthony played one night and recorded on his phone and is a tongue-in-cheek look at conspiracy theories and the terror of “What if....” it all actually worked out. “We try to not take ourselves too seriously,” Greg explains about the songwriting process. “But it's hard not to sometimes. We just want to speak up. So we try to keep the words light with an underlying message.”

The music is a mix of XTC, Tom Petty, and Beck. Each member of the group plays multiple instruments. Bronson handles the lead vocals while Anthony and Greg lend in the background. Recorded at their practice space in Lawndale and Laurel Canyon where there is always music in the air.

The diverse backgrounds of the three musicians are the key ingredient in what gives Electric Lecture its unique flavor. Resta is a multi-instrumental musician having earned twelve RIAA-certified gold and multi-platinum awards for bands such as Duran Duran, Collective Soul, and Shawn Mullins. Ansin is a prolific songwriter and film producer, having produced numerous documentaries and horror films including Drive-In Horrorshow and Infinite Santa 8000. Bronson is a multi-instrumentalist and master guitarist. He along with his brother, Preston, are the “Taalbi Brothers.” Their energetic music has been featured in shows such as Dancing with the Stars, and has been the musical narration in of the most iconic scenes in Breaking Bad.

“ I grew up listening to the Beatles, Tom Petty, the Beach Boys, especially Pet Sounds,” says Resta. I love adventurous sonic innovators like Beck and Bjork. I feel like Electric Lecture is a wonderful vehicle for me to express myself in the purest musical way I can. It's all a dream really.”
