Sharing content is easy. Creating content is not.
For far too long we've sat idly by as the owners of intellectual property have been exploited through new media. What started as a unique platform to share ideas has grown into a virtual delivery system precise enough to accommodate individuals across land, air, and sea - all at the push of a button.
"Free At What Cost" is more than a documentary; it is a movement created by creators, for creators - for if we refuse to stand up for ourselves, who will?

Our special industry guest was none other than Billboard Magazine's, PHIL GALLO. Phil also curated an exclusive Hunnypot DJ Set which featured songs from JAMES BROWN, FIRST AID KIT to NINE INCH NAILS and many others.
Our live music segment was stacked with talent last week. LA's own, BONUS DRUTHERS artist collective, THE MOST BEST kicked things off into high gear with a dynamic set of electronic, indie-pop jams. Highlighted by their brilliant performances of songs like "Deanie Petty", "Ryan Gossling" and "Bitchy Beats." We expect big things to come in 2015 for Bonus Druthers and The Most Best. Be sure to stay up-to-date with all the latest releases on Soundcloud and Twitter and peep their latest single "Gold." Next up was LA based indie rock band, POLARIS ROSE. This LA duo packed the house at their first appearance on the show, so inviting them back was a no brainer and they once again rocked out with a heavy dose of alt-rock tunes. Maddie and Peter stormed thru a blistering set of songs off their brand new EP, "OCEANSONGS", including the new single "Perfect View" and "Hurricanes." Head over to http://polarisrose.com to stream their new EP and be up-to-date with all their latest shows. Joining us all the way from St. Louis was none other than buzzing, female, hip hop artist, MZ 007. Fresh off the release of her smash single, "Important", MZ 007 brought a massive crowd to the Mint and dropped a hard hitting in your face set of hip hop bangers. This self-proclaimed #FatFlyChick is set to take the music world by storm as we head into 2015. So with that don't be late to the party and follow her on Twitter @mz007music. Closing out the night, but certaintly one act not to be missed was Van City based rockers, ONE BAD SON. This Canadian quartet brought the house down with an explosive hard rock set that showed them pounding out tunes off their latest album, "Black Buffalo." We highly suggest heading over to http://onebadson.com. 11/03/2014

Our special guest was industry tastemaker and artist manager, LAUREL STEARNS. With a career that started at Red Light Management, Laurel now holds head executive role at Dilettante Management. Joining us for her first-ever Hunnypot DJ Set, Laurel shook The Mint with a stellar mix of classic artists and her current favs like RODRIGO, BABES, JENNY O., PPL MVR and many more!
Our live music segment was loaded with spectacular talent. Kicking off was LA based r&b, singer-songwriter, MARCIO DONALDSON p.k.a. MARCIO. With a sound that resembles that of Frank Ocean, Marcio left everyone in awe with his strong falsettos and emotional lyrics. Highlighting the performance was his single "Superman". Next up was LA based singer-songwriter, REHYA STEVENS and her backing band featuring top players who have toured with Joe Cocker, Lenny Kravitz and more. Rehya, dropped some serious pop and r&b songs with major crossover appeal. Check out her standout performance of "Good Man" and be sure to grab a download of her album, Vintage Love. Turning the night up to 11 was LA based (via UK) rocker KAV. Bringing a gritty, rock n' roll sound, KAV turned heads with his unique vocals and heavy guitar licks. Closing out the night was the stunning LA based singer-songwriter, VICTORIA RENÈE. With some major collaborations under her belt (Ray Dalton, Jazze Pha, Boy Rekless and more) and having shared the stage with Ariana Grande, Victoria performed a high energy pop set infused polished dance beats, combine that with her beautifully, talented dancers and we had ourselves one hell of a show. 10/20/2014
Laurel Stearns is currently rocking the music business as a manager at Dilettante in Los Angeles, California. Coming from the Palm Springs area, she has had her fair share of industry experience. Laurel spent time in the A&R department of Records and later moved on to Red Light management. An artist she currently works with, Jenny O., introduced her to George Augusto, with whom she founded Dilettante Management. She is currently working with local band No, Linda Perhacs, Jenny O., and Red Fang.
Marcio Donaldson is a local unsigned artist with talent out of this world. His sound almost reflects that of Frank Ocean, with a strong R&B drive. His falsettos leave the listener in awe, expressing emotional lyrics many can connect to.
Rehya Stevens is a Pop R&B Crossover artist with meaningful and intelligent songs, matched with undeniable commercial appeal. Her music is a not so guilty mainstream pop pleasure, like her latest album “Vintage Love,” released last June.
Rock ‘n Roll music comes alive in KAV, a musician backed his band currently centered in Los Angeles. With gritty tunes and a unique, rich vocal center, KAV is bringing catchy musical value to the area with every release.
After only being in a LA for a short while, new buzzing artist, Victoria Renée has shared the same stage with Arianna Grande, new super girl group GRL, collaborated with hit Artist/Songwriter Ray Dalton (Macklemore’s “Ceiling Can’t Hold Us” over 7 x platinum, Thrift Shop, etc) and already worked with hit music producers and writers like Jazze Pha, Boy Rekless, Lars Halvor and Deekay, Young Yonny, Lil Eddie, Nate Walka, Klaus Derendorf, Cut Father, The Senate, Optimus Prime, Tracie Hale, Sam Salter, Jaden Michaels, etc. She also has recorded songs written by hit artists and songwriters: Jason Derulo, Jaden Michaels, Tacie Hale, Fran Hall, Poison Ivory, Kyle Christopher, Steve Diamond, KC Livingston, etc.
We're beyond sad to learn that after a long fight with cancer, Joanne Borgella has passed on. The music she left the world is fun, playful, and representative of her sassy spirit. We hope you enjoy her brilliant irreverence as much as we do.
no hype, no fashion, no logo, no corporation, no war, no hate, no lies, no flies, no greed, no spies.
From Sydney, Australia. Shout out to Silverback Music.
Big thank you to Beth Martinez danger village for heads up on this dope pick
There is a fragile balance to Astronauts, etc. - an attempt to reconcile contradiction. Harmonious conflict rolls through mastermind Anthony Ferraro's uniquely soulful compositions with a struggling duality innate in each note. A classically trained pianist with French composer Hector Berlioz tattooed on his arm, Ferraro approaches his songwriting with both a disregard for his 15 years of focused lessons and a respect for the skill those studies have afforded him.
It was as a bystander that Ferraro first began exploring popular music. Growing up in a conservative household, he was exposed to little outside of the classical world until his late teenage years, when Napster played co-conspirator to his latent curiosity. What followed was a period of near academic immersion into the world of pop, soul and indie rock, resulting in a deep appreciation for the delicate crafts of songwriting and arranging. When chronic arthritis derailed his classical pursuits, Ferraro turned to bedroom production to fill the gap, exploring musical avenues outside of his traditional background.
After a serendipitous meeting with Chaz Bundick of Toro Y Moi, the two developed a creative friendship that eventually led to a spot in Bundick's touring band. Meanwhile, the piecemeal release of Ferraro's early recordings found a quick following online, topping Hype Machine with tracks "Mystery Colors" in 2012 and "Coldboy" last year, and spawning an audience curious for more from the young musician.
