Bay Area duo The Limousines,  debut LP, Get Sharp, was first released and played on the Hunnypot Radio show in 2010  featured the fun, self-reflective single “Internet Killed the Video Star” (The track hit a million views on YouTube and brought the band an international fan base). ”Love Is A Dog From Hell”— is the new single we’re excited to premiere from their sophomore album, Hush. The track is an ’80s-inspired New Wave gem about the temptations of falling in love. Interestingly enough, the song’s title is borrowed from a book by poet Charles Bukowski that discusses the darker side of love. Heady stuff! The track’s shimmering, dream-like synths are paired with lyrics about cigarettes, kisses and heaven, and it’ll surely leave you reminiscing about the one who got away.

The opening track to the band’s wildly infectious debut album Lovers. This band is truly something else. The band members have an amazing ability to wrap vocalist Nicole Boudreau’s flirty and lovelorn lyrics with a fierce rock and roll sound that is both luscious and explosive at the same time. I also really enjoy that this video comes back with the same layout: skip the plot and fancy editing, focus on the music. And with that spotlight set on the song and performance, listeners are quickly introduced to the song’s simple theme from the first line:“I’m in love with the bartender…

The ever-shirtless Cazwell (of 'Ice Cream Truck' fame) and Luciana released their latest single 'Guess What?' The song is the first single from Cazwell’s highly-anticipated full-length album Hard 2 B Fresh, being released through Peace Bisquit in August. Produced by up-and-coming Russian duo Fagault & Marina, and directed by J.B Ghuman, marks a new direction for the rapper, best known for blazing up YouTube and VEVO with his hip-hop rhymes. This latest is a gnarly, horn-ridden electro anthem with contagiously catchy lyrics and a hard-pounding beat

PRIMA DONNA

Is a five-piece rock band from Los Angeles, may be the best garage band of all time, street-smart sounds with a modern twist. The single, Feral Children, was mixed by Grammy winner D. Sardy (Jet, Wolfmother, Slayer, Noel Gallagher, many more), and sonically calls to mind his most successful achievements.”If you see Prima Donna’s live show, by the time it’s over, I guarantee that you will walk out the door knowing that, by god, you’ve just seen a rock ‘n’ roll band. Odds are good that you’ll also be humming a new favorite melody and grinning from ear to ear too, all while still digesting the rock ‘n’ roll spectacle you just experienced. And that, my friends, is always an exhilarating feeling”.–John Anderson, Twangville

Hot Tub Johnnie and the HP Radio crew once again delivered an outstanding show for all who attended The Mint LA and/or listened live online. Johnnie kicked off the 266th radio show with a smokin’ set featuring gems from Oliver Tank, Brøthers, Here We Go Magic, Peachcake, Kasey K., The Cataracs, 5150 Squad and much more.

Our special guest of the night was none other than 25+ year music industry veteran, Andy Ross (Cutting Edge Group). Andy prepared an exceptional set that paid tribute to the punk years or “Thatcher Years” that shaped and pioneered the early punk music scene in Britain. Andy’s set was loaded with classics from Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Clash, Jilted John, The Smiths, The Specials, and Elvis Costello.

The first live performers of the night were LA based indie-pop duo, Blazing Hips. Playing only their second official show together, the boys came out with a groovy edged, retro pop set that featured their standout singles “The Wolf” and “Cheetah” a quirky uptempo synth-pop, dance gem.

Our second performer of the night was LA based indie rock, singer-songwriter, Inch Chua. Quickly establishing herself as one of the must-see acts in the LA scene, Inch and her extremely talented band completely stole the show; taking it to a whole new level. Inch’s guitar skills and vocals were explosive, especially while premiering new material from her forthcoming sophmore album, due for release later this year. Be sure to stay tuned to Inch Chua on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest happenings.

Coming back for an encore performance was none other than LA based (London bound) sister DJ duo, Le Twist. This was a very special performance, as it was Le Twist’s final LA show before they treked across the pond to London town. It was the perfect send off for the girls who prepared an exposive dance set loaded with many of today’s top hip hop, trap, pop, house and electro bangers. Briana and Dani will be hugely missed, but we wish them all the best on their musical dance journey. Be sure to stayed up-to-date on all of Le Twist’s latest dance mixes at http://mixcloud.com/LeTwistLA.

Officially closing out the night was Hunnypot fav and LA based (via Chicago) MC/producer, E-Train. Joining us for a brief exclusive performance, E-Train and Blingstein premiered 2 new unreleased trap bangers that we can expect to be dropping very soon.

Huge thanks to everyone that came out to support, perform, and both the The Mint and Hunnypot crews. We couldn’t make it all happen without each and every one of you!  06/03/2013

Blazing Hips

BLAZING HIPS

Blazing Hips is an indie-pop duo from Los Angeles with a curious fixation on the animal kingdom. Formed in 2013, The group has already produced two fauna-pop favorites; “Wolf” and “Cheetah” Employing a veritable zoo of sounds- fuzzy vocals, groovy bass, bombastically retro synths, drum machines and tambourines, Blazing Hips makes 4-minutes-and-under safaris into the jungle of retro edged pop, emerging as a final earworm chorus brings things to an almost too-soon close. Blazing Hips is Nicholas Tashjian and Kelvin Stewart. Nick goes to bed at a reasonable hour and always wears comfortable shoes. Kelvin likes weak tea, saltines, and a warm bath. UNFORTUNATELY OUR MICROPHONES GAVE UP ON US DURING THE INTERVIEW SEGMENTS, APOLOGIZES TO JOE AND FRANK. :(

Last week's Hunnypot Radio Show was a blast and as always we packed the house with some of today's top music tastmakers and musicians. Kicking off the night in classic fashion was Hot Tub Johnnie, whose opening set featured some classic artists like Little Richard and the newly polished single from Jimi Hendrix "Hear My Train A Comin'". Johnnie also premiered new cuts from Hunnypot favorite Mic TerrorCapital CitiesG-Eazy as well as slammin' singles from CHVRCHESDjango Django and much more.

This all lead way right into our first guest DJ of the night, longtime music professional, Joe Berman of MediaHorse. Joe has been a highly regarded tastemaker in the business for well over 20 years and he showed his musical prowess with his ode to classic punk rock in his set. Joe brought us all back to the roots of punk rock playing classic tracks as well as deep cuts from BlondieThe ClashThe Jam, BuzzcocksRamones and many more.

Our next guest was one of today's top rising tastemakers in the business, Music Supervisor, Frank Palazzolo. Frank is the right hand man for Liza Richardson where they handle music for many of today's top TV shows like Parenthood, The Following, Hawaii Five-O and much more. Frank took us on a little journey with his set as he sequenced tracks that were major influences on his life. He started with one of the first singles he ever purchased, George Lamond's "Bad of the Heart" and then playing hits from CakeVan Halen and into new cuts by KongosLittle Daylight and much more. But the crowd pleaser had to be MC Yogi's "Hanuman".

Opening up our musical performances of the night was the extremely talented LA based singer-songwriter, Audra Mae. Audra who recently released her album Audra Mae & The Almighty Sound, performed an exceptional stripped down set with just her amazing voice and guitar. Her songs told many stories of her life and none were more amazing than her performance of "Old Italian Love Song" a beautiful song which is a standout amongst many of her fans.

Our next guest was UK based roots, soul, folk, singer-songwriter, Jon Kenzie. Jon has been traveling all over the US and Europe and we were very lucky to have him join us for a special stripped down acoustic set as he performed new tracks off his debut album Not Much Technical Stuff.

Our final performers of the night were British born brothers and blues rockers, Bite The Buffalo. These guys know how to rock and were playing their second show of the night in LA as they closed out their 40 night tour of the US. Nothing better than a hard rockin' blues duo who knows how to get down and dirty. The boys stormed through a gritty high energy set as they treated us to songs off their newly released LP Blue Lips, as well as their 2012 EP Bromigos.

All in all, it was another amazing show put together by the incredible Hunnypot Unlimited team. Huge thanks to everyone that came out to support, everyone that performed, and both the Central SAPC and Hunnypot crews. We couldn’t make it all happen without each and every one of you!  04/08/2013

In addition to his transformation in to film, Dolby will be gearing up for a US tour later this year in support of his critically acclaimed album A Map of the Floating City - which features stellar collaborations with Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap and Mark Knopfler. You will not want to miss this exclusive interview with one of the true electronic music pioneers. Big thank you to Lisa Kline Moberly of OpTic NoiSe, who helped immensely in putting together this special appearance.

ROCKY BUSINESS

ROCKY BUSINESS

Brooklyn born and LA based indie, rap, punk rock duo Rocky Business will be joining us for a special live performance. The duo is made up of Bed-Stuy MC, Strictly Business and musician/vocalist/producer Johnny on the Rocks, together the two have created an original blend of rock, hip-hop and electronic sounds that break genre distinctions, leaving you with pure musical energy. Coming from two very different backgrounds, Jonny is a Toronto native while SB hails from Bed-Stuy Brooklyn. Effortlessly mixing their styles, together they bring you something you can’t label, so they call it Gangsta Galaxy Music. To make the introduction a little more formal we wanted to share the video for their 2011 single “Heath Ledger“, taken off their free mixtape White People Deal Drugs Too.

Joachim Garraud

JOACHIM GARRAUD

World renowned French DJ/Producer, Joachim Garraud will be joining us for a very special interview/DJ set to close out the night. After having perfectionned his piano and percussions for seven years at the conservatory, he decided to move toward electronic music. Along with Laurent Garnier, he started as a DJ at the Boy, the Parisian club that first initiated the discovery of the techno phenomenon in France. He then successfully tried some music production with Maxximum radio station, number one national 100% dance radio station (CTL group). Becoming the pioneer of numerical music, he created his own recording studio in the middle of Paris, which allowed him to remix, compose or produce artists such as David Guetta, Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Johnson, Deep Dish, David Bowie, OMD, Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer, Cassius, Ceronne, Moby, Robbie Rivera… and many more. Joachim developed a new concept, blending Deejaying and musical improvisation, thus giving a true concert, a unique live performance which soon gave him the opportunity to perform all over the World. Today, he is surrounded by a big community with the Space Invader mascot. We highly recommend checking out his Dim Mak Records released single "Hook" featuring Alesia.
