Our 232nd Hunnypot Radio Show was a doozy! Hot Tub Johnnie kicked off as always and had a killah set of new tunes for us to hear. Kicking off with one from his latest favorites "Elephants" by Blaudzun transitioning right into the brand new single "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us" by The Darkness! Award winning author and music publishing guru Randy Poe (President, Leiber & Stoller Music Publishing) was our special industry guest DJ of the night. Randy came on the show in support of his new book titled Stalking The Red Headed Stranger. Randy spoke sharing some great stories and tips from the book – where he chased American icon Willie Nelson across Canada, in his attempt to pitch a single song to the Red Headed Stranger. The book is a guide to the art and history of professional song plugging - not one to miss! So given that Randy put together a Willie Nelson tribute DJ set in honor of his book. he featured classics like…"Truck Drivin' Man", "Pancho and Lefty", "Bloody Mary Morning" and superb rendition of Willie covering Coldplay's "The Scientist".
LA electro, dance pop duo Das Tapes provided a energized set of hard rocking electro dance beats. Before killing it live we opened the set with their latest single "This Party" (if you haven't seen the video -check it out!). The boy's officially started the party with an absolute dynamite performance of their songs "Black Ferrari" and "Neon Boots" which you can find on their latest self titled EP which is available on Bandcamp!

Last week's Hunnypot Radio Show was insane fun, as we celebrated Hot Tub Johnnie's B-Day with a blowout celebration!
Hot Tub Johnnie tapped into his party zone and blew the night open with dance party jams. The set featured - YG's "Bitches Ain’t Shit (feat. Tyga & Nypsey Hustle)", Azealia Banks' latest with Machinedrum "NEEDSUMLUV (SXLND)", Das Tapes' "This Party" and HP favorites Dr. Hollywood's slamin' new jam "Pack Up and Go"! He even squeezed in new tracks by special guests who were in attendance Kosha Dillz "West Coast Flavor" and Chi-town MC Keith Master's fresh new single "Gary Busey".
Unfortunately special guest, music supervisor Frankie Pine (Whirly Girl Music) was unable to attend. However saving the set in her place was Frankie's right hand lady the wonderful Mandi Collier (Whirly Girl Music). Frankie handpicked a fun set country rockin' tunes including the brand new Jane Dear Girls song "Good Good Girls Gone Bad" which is the Theme Song to their new ABC show G.C.B. which premieres Sunday, March 4th.
Our first musical guest was LA Hip Hop artist Roshawn Dollars who performed a couple smoked out bangers off his latest mixtape Dead Roses including "D.I." and "Shake". You can download the Dead Roses mixtape for FREE.
DJ Boom Shack's set featured new tracks by 3x Grammy Award winner Skrillex with "My Good Bye" and also Grimes' latest single "Genesis" off her album Visions. Boom Shack also spun Jo LuQ's exciting new single "LA Girls"!
To close out the night in style - we had a special guest performance by rising LA hip hop MC Kosha Dillz who is fresh off his latest Super Bowl ad placement for his song "Cellular Phone". Hot Tub Johnnie & Gil Goddard rocked out last week as he broadcasted live from Casa del Popolo in the heart of Montreal!
Johnnie played some hot new tracks from the ole catalogue including "Closer" by Silver Starling, "Go Berserk" by Mark Sultain and also new cuts from Lindi Ortega "A Little Bit High" and Dru "Give Her What She Wants".
The first guest DJ was music supervisor Jeremy Blechet from Ubisoft. Jeremy had a killer set - which included jams like The Nerves' classic "Hanging On The Telephone" which was made famous by Blondie and also the latest cuts from AM & Shawn Lee "Different Forces", Birdy Nam Nam "Defiant Order" and much more that you should check out!
Michael Rault performed an amazing solo acoustic set - playing tracks off his latest album MA-ME-O. Including...the garage, blues rockers "Let Me Go" and "Call Me On The Phone".
Guest DJ Ghostbeard from (Ninja Tune / Third Side Music) closed out the show with an insane energized set featuring cuts from DJ Food "Giant", Wiley "Boom Blast", !!! "Dear Can" and many many more!

Another classic night at Libertine on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood CA! THE KINGS (MISTER ZERO & DAVID DIAMOND "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide" surprised us with a quick interview. Longtime music publisher and veteran tastemaker Jon Rosner (JR Music) will be joining us in the Hot Tub for an interview and DJ set of some of his latest favorites. Rosner, formerly of The Bicycle Music Company has a deep musical mind and an appreciation for great songs. We all are very excited to have him with us.
Our 3rd and final guest of the evening is California raised hip hop emcee Jo’ LuQ. His songs focus on the culture of Hip Hop and celebrate the spirit of life. Our first guests are LA indie, pop rockers Mr. Downstairs. The group is the brainchild of Dani Artaud formerly of widely popular electro/pop dance group the Millionaires and Asia Whiteacre. Their infectious new single called "Legendary" has created quite the buzz on YouTube sparking many people to offer their own renditions of the song. Be sure to check out the official "Legendary" video on YouTube as we expect a very busy 2012 for this group.
2012 kicks off with a bang!! Hunnypot Radio opened up with its first show of the New Year at the Libertine. Thanks to all who came out it was an incredible night!
Hot Tub Johnnie's first track of 2012 was Charles Bradley w/ "Heartaches & Pain". His set would get even better with tracks like "212" by Azealia Banks - one of Johnnie's top artists to watch for 2012. With new songs from Mic Terror, Dru, Ke$ha and Hunnypot favorite Far East Movement who will be releasing their sophomore album later this year.
LA pop, rock, soul singer-songwriter Jason Hemmens performed a brilliant 2 song set featuring his top single "Kissing, Dancing, Singing" and the instrumental jazz masterpiece "People of the Street" which included a captivating saxophone solo by Hemmens. His live performances have been creating quite a buzz in LA and we expect even bigger stages this year and possibly a national tour - we'll keep posted.
Top industry tastemaker Carter Smith (founder/owner, Rollo & Grady Music Blog) made a special guest appearance on to play some of his current top rock gems. Highlighted favorites from the set were - Analog Rebellion "Father Abraham(Demo)", the exclusive premiere of King Khan & The Shrines' "Bite My Tounge", The Owsley Brothers' "Pure Lust" and Cheerleader "Do What You Want". Sum-in-1, the rising LA hip hop producer/MC took over the air-waves to perform 2 bangers "Venga Venga" and "Listen To The Beat" off his latest full length LP And Then Sum. The album is a collection a finely crafted hip hop, pop, rock, reggae and dubstep songs including the golden nuggets "Launch Pad", "If I Fall" and "Underground Anthem" whose video was last week's pick of the week. Sum-in-1 has new videos in the works and is preparing for a 3 concert tour in Japan - big things on the way!

LA hip hop MC Azad Right made his first Hunnypot Radio appearance in support of his new album The Time Is Right which is available for FREE! His fast rising single/video "The Fire" has already eclipsed well over 700k views and is quickly putting Azad Right as one of the top artists to watch in 2012. Due to a vocal illness he was unable to perform, but we promise to have him back in the new year!
Our industry special guest was Gwen Bethel Riley (Disney Mobile/Tapulous), a true music tastemaker who is in charge of all things music for the #1music game app in the world Tap Tap Revenge. On the verge of releasing the 5th installment of TTR, Gwen played her top tracks featured in the game over the past year, featuring music from, OK GO "The Muppet Show Theme", Awol Nation "I've Been Dreaming", Kidstreet "Birthday Boy" and much more. We also had a special performance by LA/Chi Town hip hop MC/producer E-Train. Who performed two unreleased tracks including the hard banger "Wreck The Discotech". E-Train is set for a big 2012 with a video release for his single "Glow So Hard" set to drop early in the new year!

Our first industry guest DJ was Robert Murphy from Universal Music Publishing. Coming from Universal and their massive catalogue, Robert featured all his favorite gems. Including monster cuts like PNAU "Something Special", S.C.U.M. "Days Untrue", Montee's "Faith" and his rocking' opener "No Easy Way Out" by The Duke & The King.
DeLaZoo the upcoming hip hop beatmaker/MC out of Kalamazoo MI made his first Hunnypot Radio appearance and performed 2 cuts live including the swaggering "Calm Cool Clean" and the tender smooth jam "Moon By Moon". The Reverend Bud E. Love from the Cannabist Church Of Christ was our next guest to hit the hot tub and probably one of the most anticipated guests. The Reverend gave a highly regarded sermon in front of a huge crowd on the importance of legalizing marijuana. It may have been the Reverend's first Hunnypot appearance and will definitely not be the last; as it was a perfect match for Hunnypot who has been a long time advocate for Prop 19. So get out and vote and help support The Cannabist Church Of Christ.
