If you missed last weeks 214th Hunnypot Radio show at the Libertine…here's how it went down.

We want to start with a Congratulations to Paul Enriquez for winning the Guitar and give Special Thanks to Schecter Guitars for donating to the give away!

Hot Tub Johnnie kicked off with his usual set of the top tastemaker music out. His set featured new music from… Eddie Vedder, Bag Raiders, The Rassle, The Kings, Hunnypot artist Gzus Piece and more! For complete the track listings, check the  playlist on the left hand column.

Our first guest was LA singer-songwriter, and former Human Drama front-man Johnny Indovina. Johnny's beautifully arranged songs, were performed brilliantly and his soothing, airy guitar blended perfectly with his honest, caring vocals. Be sure to check out his performance of "Wind Of Change" and his latest single "The Poisoning".

Next on the docket was renowned music supervisor, Lindsay Wolfington -  the gatekeeper for all things music on the hit TV show One Tree Hill and Ghost Whisperer. Lindsay played a mixed set full of her latest favorites and classic 90's jams! The key focus tracks in her set, were "Equestrian" by U.S. Royalty Mirrors, "Jeroboam" by Branches and her classic 90's selection "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears locked to One Tree Hill this upcoming season to see what gems Lindsay selects!

Our last guests were local LA indie, rock quartet The Tender Box. They may have played a stripped down set, but these guys completely rocked out and stole the night, as they performed songs off their latest release Reverence. Check out the acoustic live versions of "Rooftops" and "Signs Of Fire" and be sure to stay updated for their latest shows and happenings this summer.

The night was closed out with a short but sweet set of new music, handpicked by DJ Boom Shack. Boom Shack featured new cuts from Deep.sea.creatures, Martin Solveig and LA rockers SUDDYN and their new single "Nothing Lasts Forever".

Our first featured musical guests are LA based indie rock quartet The Tender Box. Their latest release Reverence (Swing House Music) features the high energized alt rocker "Signs of Fire" and popular "Crashing Down". Already with a publishing deal through Cobalt and various music placements with Budweiser, Sony Pictures and a theme song to Marvel's "The Spectacular Spiderman" expect to hear big things from this rising taste-maker act.

Also joining us in the Hot Tub will be Johnny Indovina, singer-songwriter and frontman for underground 80's new wave goth band Human Drama. The band was a central figure in the 80's L.A. downtown scene which revolved around the now legendary SCREAM nightclub and released the '92 landmark album The World Insidethrough Triple X Records. Indovina is now heading his latest musical project Sound Of The Blue Heart, an alternative, pop rock quintet that features thought provoking insights and infectious rhythms.

Our 213th Hunnypot Radio show was a flippin' good time! Hot Tub Johnnie kicked it off with a brand new set of tunes…including "Sun of a Gun" by Oh Land, "The Morning" by The Weeknd and "How To Do That" by Cali Swag District (A Tribute track to M-Bone - who will be missed by all) and many more.
 
Our first guest was upcoming hip hop, producer/MC, E-TRAIN. Coming back for his second dip in the hot tub - E-Train and Blingstein previewed and performed tracks off his latest LP Wrath Of Roxane, including the hit single "Glow So Hard" which is available on iTunes now. We can expect a lot from this hot new talent - as he is prepping for a new album and also new projects with various artists.
 
Our 2nd of 3 musical guests on the night was LA based folk, singer-songwriter Amanda Jo Williams. She performed 3 tracks off her latest album Mary's Big Feet, which is a collection  front porch styled, folk rock tunes. The highlight of the night had to be "The Bear Eats Me" an uptempo country folk rocker. If your in the LA area keep an eye on this Amanda Jo Williams, who shows lined up this summer.

All the way from Arizona is where our final guests Peachcake came from - These electro, indie rockers rounded off the night of performances with a high energized set, comprising of new tracks "Speaking Of Handouts, I Got You Something" and the uplifting "Don't Panic, It's Organic". We welcome to the Hot Tub highly talented LA based hip hop, artist/producer E-TRAIN by way of Chicago, who is making his second appearance on the show. The last guests of the evening are Phoenix based electronic, indie, pop rock band Peachcake. This eclectic trio is currently on tour in support of their latest EP titled This Wasn't Our Plan featuring the upbeat, electro dance single "You Matter". Don't miss what is sure to be an ever-evolving force of exuberance and uplifted aspiration and positivity!

Last weeks Hunnypot Live radio show was an extreme surge of excitement. DJ Hot Tub Johnnie kicked it off right, with a banging track from LA's own Skull Tape "Anon Anon" and featured select cuts by The Shivers, The Chemical Brothers, Lil B and more. A Hot Tub set to definitely take note of!

Inglewood's 16 BARZ, set the tone perfectly and completely rocked the airwaves with a banging set of new cuts off his soon to be released LP 2000wHATevER. Check out the club banger "Imma Do It Better"and listen to his raw freestyle rhyming ability on "Look At Me Now".

Next on the decks was Hunnypot's DJ Wool, a producer, artist and also a member of The Glass came on and ignited the show. His set was dynamite and left you wanting more. Check out the DJ Wool's "Proof (Remix)" by Stuffa and "Strobelight".

Our last performers on the night were Furious + The Static Shock, comprising of both Furious George and acclaimed producer The Static Shock. Their performance was electric and the energy provided from Furious George will go down in Hunnypot lore. The LA electronic, alt pop duo has a new mixture mixture out titled 'Prince Furious Mixtape' featuring the signature tracks "Future Pop" and "Fiire".

The night was closed out with a solid set of hand picked selections by DJ Boom Shack, featuring hot new Miami hip hop, brand new completely exclusive Yael Meyer "Fire" and more. We also had a couple surprise special guests, Phil Rich came in with his hot new single "Shucky Ducky" and Shinobi Ninja premiered their new single "Brooklyn To Babylon".

Special DJ set by Hunnypot artist, producer, DJ Wool (The Glass). Wool comes from Ireland via New York and lives in Berlin, but has been in Cali and will be making a special appearance on the show. Expect to hear some killer electronic, dance remixes and blazin' new productions. Wool also a member of indie dance duo The Glass, have had their music in TV series such as Gossip Girl, CSI Miami, Lie To Me and more.

We welcome the new LA based electro/pop duo FURIOUS + THE STATIC SHOCK. Consisting of acclaimed producer 'The Static Shock' (Yo! Majesty, Raspberry Cocaine) and nineteen year old wizkid 'Furious' George Griffin. The duo's music is described as "tough pop", as heard by their first single "Fiire" – released on the latest, 'Prince Furious Mixtape'.

We will also have a fresh new hip hop artist Siqsteen Barz (pronounced 16 BARZ) out of Inglewood, coming on to preview his latest hotness and performance. Described as versatile hip hop, 16 BARZ practices the art of “obstacle rap”. Check out this latest banger "Imma Do It Better".

Hunnypot Radio last week was insane! We had 2 live performances from F.L.O (Flyest Lyrics Overall), Josie Cotton and a special guest host Kii Arens.

The night was kicked off with a brand new set of music from DJ Hot Tub Johnnie. The set included new tracks from… The Rassle "Full Speed Ahead", The Knocks "Something I Can Dance To",  The Weeknd "Glass table Girls", Big Sean "Big Nut Bust" and more. For a complete listing, check the playlist on the right.

Kicking the night off for performances was a brand new up and coming hip hop duo from Grenada Hills, F.L.O. (Flyest Lyrics Overall). These 2 16 and 17 year old rappers came and completely stole the show with a high energy set that left everyone shook. Highlight of the night was "This Generation". Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this hip new act that is sure to break soon.

Next, was a special guest DJ set from Kii Arens (La La Land Posters). Kii who is no stranger to the Hunnypot fam, was in full form. He displayed a loud rousing set that included cuts from LA rock band Tarantula "Devil Inside My Head", Tame Impala "Lucidity", brand new Beastie Boys "Non Stop Disco Power Pack" and the latest jam from Ziggy Marley "Forward To Love". Our final guest of the evening was none other than Josie Cotton. Miss Cotton, who is well known for her 80's hit "Johnny, Are You Queer?", came on to promote her new record Pussycat Babylon and also stood in for a featured interview with Hot Tub Johnny. However, the highlights of the set were by far her striped down performances of the title track "Pussycat Babylon" and "Super 8". F.L.O (Flyest Lyrics Overall)

We will also have another performance on the night from F.L.O. (Flyest Lyrics Overall), a hip hop duo based out of Granada Hills, CA. Bio and Skinny (F.L.O.) ages 16 and 17 will be on for a live performance and interview from the Hot Tub. The duo brings a fresh new sound, that will end the dance movements and bring real Hip-Hop back.

It was an incredibly, fantastic night at Hunnypot Radio – Live at Libertine last week!

The night was ignited by another tastemaker, selected musical adventure by DJ Hot Tub Johnnie. Featuring new tracks from – Johnny Ringo “Got Bass”, Egyptrixx (feat. Trust) “Chrysalis Records”, S.C.U.B.I. “Tech-Etu” and more.

Our first industry guest DJ was Jonathan Parch of Last Gang Records. Coming in with a wide variety of selected tracks to choose from out of the Last Gang catalogue, Jonathan featured new cuts from Chromeo “Hot Mess”, Crystal Castles “Not In Love (feat. Robert Smith)”, MSTRKRFT “Beards Again (Exchange Master Mix)” and much more! Check out the full set and interview at the link after the drop.

The irresistible, Lindi Ortega out of Toronto, Canada left her mark on Hunnypot Radio with a killer taste of her hip alt. country sound. Playing for a jammed pack Libertine crowd Lindi, featured new tracks off her forthcoming album Little Red Boots due June 7th, on Last Gang Records. Check out her raw, roots rock performances of her songs “Angels” and “Black Fly”. “You will know her by her Little Red Boots”- out June 7th, so keep an ear to the ground.

Our final DJ set was provided by multi talented, industry professional, DJ, producer (The Arbiters), music supervisor – Thomas Golubic’ (The Killing | Breaking Bad | The Walking Dead). Featuring his patented sounds and tastemaker quality music, his choice selection of Kenny Dope’s “Get On Down” was the highlight of an amazing night of music and lifestyle! As always Hot Tub Johnnie started the night off with some nice freshly picked jams for all of us. A few of his highlighted picks were… The Knocks "Dancing With The DJ", South Rakkas Crew (feat. Our first guest DJ was music supervisor and industry tastemaker Andrea von Foerster (Firestarter Music). Andrea always known for a great creative mind and musical taste, shared some killer new music. A few key selections were Russo "Fool (Hard Mix)", Niki & The Dove "DJ Ease My Mind" and Young Dreams with "Young Dreams". Andrea touched on some industry topics with Hot Tub and also a little insight into her job as one of the most sought after music supervisors. It was a great set, we highly recommend listening to the show to hear this great music!

Piney Gir was our featured musical guest of the night. Piney who was in town for recording sessions and a show at Silverlake Lounge, stopped by for a wildly fun country throw-down set. Playing songs off her most recent release "The Yearling" and even throwing in a brand new song off her forthcoming LP due out later this year. The performance of "40 Days and 40 Nights" will give you the best idea of how rocking the night was!

DJ Boom Shack closed out the night with a brand new set of tunes, which included a fresh conscious hip hop track from Van City rapper KAI Sky Walker "Whatever", a jam you all need to check out.  04/04/2011

Last week's 208th Hunnypot Radio show featured a great rockin' set of music from guest DJ Tim Stephens (Chopperhead Records) and a killer stripped down performance from LA country rockers Alvarado. Including a great Hot Tub Johnnie recap from SXSW.

We started the night off with a brand new set of tunes from DJ Hot Tub. Hot Tub Johnnie premiered a new track "Conversation" from Hunnypot's own Victorian English Gentlemen’s Club, also SXSW performer Lindi Ortega w/"Black Fly" and a brand new jam from the bay area's Prince Sole with "My Baby" and many more.

Tim Stephens of Chopperhead Magazine one the top 'Outlaw Lifestyle Magazines' entered the hot tub with a classic yet smooth and aggressive set of tunes. He took us back with his first cut from Dwight Yoakum "Long White Cadillac", he featured a couple new acts including Chopperhead Records' Fuelhead "Turn It Up Loud (feat. K.O.T.) and Oakland heavy metal outfit A Band Called Pain with their own rendition of "King Of Pain" by Police.  

LA's own smoking' country rockers Alvarado dipped their guitars into the hot tub and made a big honkey tonk splash. John and Nelson featured and performed tracks off their latest EP  including the driving rocker "No More Tears" and a highlighted performance of "Moving On".

Resident DJ Boom Shack featured a brand new set of musical goodness. The latest set included new Boom Shack approved cuts from Alex Winston "Locomotive", NewVillager "Lighthouse" and The Luyas "To Beautiful To Work".

The show was closed out with a full on sing-a-long performance of "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie!  03/21/2011

Alvarado will be our musical guest of the evening brought to us by our first guest Tim Stephens. This country/roots rock/americana band out of LA is fronted by singer/songwriters John Michael Knowles and Nelson Blanton to create Alvarado - honky tonk from the West Coast.... like it used to be and the way it should be. Hunnypot Radio #207 welcomed the return of DJ Hot Tub Johnnie who was absent during our last broadcast. Hot Tub returned with a banging' set which featured new music from The Strokes "Under Cover Of Darkness", LA favorites Grouplove "Don't Say Oh Well", new music from Mic Terror "The Real" and some killer indie/pop from Skull Tape "Max Boot".

REASON

Our last guest and musical guest of the evening was rising new hip-hop artist Reason from Orlando, FL now based in LA. Reason, well known for his killer high energy performances' did not disappoint. Usually performing with his live band Reason still brought the heat, with DJ Addict providing the beats we heard new cuts off his latest release The Social Network incl…"In Retrospect" and "Go Reason". He closed the set with smooth, upbeat "Glass In The Air"off his The Cool Graduate EP. Check out Reason live at The Roxy, March 27th will a full band… it'll blow you away!


In classic HP style we closed the night with a sing-a-long of Lou Rawls - "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" it was epic!  03/07/2011

Hot Tub Johnnie returned with a bang for our 205th Hunnypot Radio Show! DJ Hot Tub featured a killer set of his latest goodness and spoke on the his time at Sundance. Be sure to check out these choice tracks played during Hot Tub's set..."Bounce" (feat. Hollywood Holt) by Gzus Piece, Cali Swag Districts' latest "Kickback" and the brand new "Do It Again" by Holy Ghost!

Rob Roy was our musical guest and completely stole the show. He performed brilliantly including his break-out track "Fur In My Cap" and previewed of brand new song "Axela" that will be released on his forthcoming Dim Mak Records debut, due out in either later this year. If you don't know him yet, you will soon!

Our special industry guest DJ set was provided by Ian McPherson (dubFrequency). Ian was filling in for fellow dF member Jesse Lee. Ian provided an intense set of up-tempo electronic/hip-hop and dub step with remixes by RAC, RTU and others. Be sure to follow Ian on the dF site

DJ Boom Shack closed the night out with a slamming high energy set. Featuring the latest music from artists Mac Miller, Ray Black, Alex Winston, Adele,Hollywood Holt and more!

ROB ROY

We will be welcoming L.A.'s multi-talented rapper/singer/producer Rob Roy (Dim Mak Records). Rob Roy had the internet buzzing last year with the release of his video for "Fur In My Cap", which eventually got him signed to Dim Mak Records this past Fall. He is from Florida but now resides in L.A. and is currently working on his brand new full length album due out soon! Rob Roy will be joining the party in the Hot Tub with a interview/performance that will turn the show into a frenzy!

 

 


 

IAN MACPHERSON

Our special guest DJ of the night is Jesse Lee (dF). Ian is coming in representing dF (dubFrequency), which is a music & lifestyle tastemaker blog. Ian also represents the Creme De La Creme music party series which currently hosts parties at the House Of Blues in many major cities across the country. Jesse will be on for a featured interview and DJ set. Look to be introduced to some of the hottest new music that is out now!

DJ Hot Tub may have been in Park City, Utah for the Sundance Festival, but the Hunnypot Radio went on with a bang!

DJ Boom Shack started the night off with a soothing new track "Soak It Up" by Houses out Chicago, which lead way into the brand new single "On/Off The Ledge by ROBOTANISTS. The highlights though were Starfuckers "Bury Us Alive" and LA hip-hop newcomer Reason with "Life Of A Star (feat. Raz)", as well as "Keepin It Gangsta" the latest from Gzus Piece. Our first special guest was none other than Jerry Davis of Fox Sports. The 28 year music industry veteran and pioneer came on the show and shut it down. Jerry spoke on his great career touching on his work at ASCAP where he helped guide some of today's most well known hip-hop artists like Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Too Short and more! Jerry's set list was a compilation of the music that he says played a huge role for him as he was learning the game. His set included classics from Run D.M.C., Megadeth, Earth Wind & Fire and more. 

Our final guest DJ was DJ Broadway straight out of Pasadena. Broadway came in with some pounding bass, spinning some classic old school hip-hop, r&b/ soul. A lover of hip hop, DJ Broadway began at Loud Records working A&R bringing us the likes of The Alkaholiks and Xzibit. The highlight of the night was "Bonita Applebum" as Broadway's bass had the room shaking with bottles hitting the ground! 

We closed the night out with a classic sing-a-long from The Walker Brothers "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)".  01/24/22011
