Relix Magazine describes The Eiffels' "sleek dance rock" as "contagious." Yahoo Music raves, "Los Angeles buzz band, The Eiffels, has the music scene in a swirl with its catchy '80's synth pop." And PureVolume calls their songs, "shimmering electro-pop anthems."
The week of its release, their debut EP was hailed by Baeble Music as an “opening salvo that any band would dream of,” and was the 15th most added record on U.S. college radio. They’ve since received support from major radio stations from Los Angeles’ KROQ and KLOS, to San Diego’s 91X and Z90.
After an ambitious United States tour, continuous buzz, and seeing their music featured in hit television shows like MTV's Are You The One?, and The Only Way is Essex, The Eiffels are ready to release their new EP, complete with the same diabolically catchy hooks and an even bigger sound.

Born in NYC and recently relocated to Los Angeles, the Basement Beat Revival is a band whose sound lives somewhere at the crossroads of The Black Keys and David Bowie - next door to the Clash and Lenny Kravitz. Call it "GlamWave", the modern love child of glam and new wave with a healthy dose of psychedelia and soul.
Formed in 2015, BBR immediately began playing the local club scenes in New York, Philadelphia and Boston. Their mission has, and will always be, to keep the torch lit brightly for a bedrock of influences that inspire their sound. Influences such as The Arctic Monkeys, White Stripes, The Doors, The Killers, The Cure, T Rex, The Strokes, Slade, Television and The Beatles - to offer but a few examples.
Driven by deep lyricism, their sound is built around vintage guitars, classic synths and deep rhythms. From the dreamy lyrics and instrumentation of numbers like "Stars & Scars" to their rock-meets-Motown homage to the 70s club scene "New York Doll" and the haunting ballad "Time Stands Still", BBR takes their musical experimentation in endless directions.
Be on the lookout for their upcoming EP release "Heavy" due in early 2018.
Latino gay bar, “Club Chico” located in East LA is the home of SCUM, a monthly queer punk night for “queerdos” and anyone else in search of a punk, new wave, trash, and house dance party. SCUM was started two years ago by Rudy Bleu and Hex-Ray, who are both inflectional figures in the Queer Chicano Culture. Rudy Bleu and Hex-Ray asked one of Queercore’s founding fathers, Limp Wrist to help celebrate their success and appreciation of the Hispanic punk community, with a sold-out 2-year anniversary show. The band was founded in 1998 by Martin Sorrondeguy, lead singer of Los Crudos and Mark Telfian of Hail Mary. Limp Wrist recently celebrated fifth album “Facades” (2017) staying true to their hardcore sound that covers themes apropos to the LGBTQ community. This can be heard in their lyrics. Limp Wrist shows are known for outrageous fan participation, like naked stage diving, kissing band members, and running around on stage. Martin is unfazed by the unique ways fans show their love. He sometimes even participates by sitting on fans’ faces during live performances. The band is also notorious for their onstage attire, or lack thereof. For a performance, Martin wore his best thong cut jean shorts to show off his red jock strap and suspenders with a classic leather Daddy motorcycle hat. SCUM’s regular partygoers did not fall short in providing the known Limp Wrist crowd experience, with pant-less fans being chased on stage by security for making sexual gestures to bands members out of love and respect.
Often live shows follow a formula. The openers sharing a similar sound and fan base as the headliner, they did things a little differently. SCUM delivered the true meaning of a variety show, kicking off the night with a performance by drag host Lady Forbidden followed by other local drag performers. Two heterosexual men I spoke to during the show admitted to this being their first drag show; SCUM parties have a way of bringing together least likely pairs. In addition to the drag show there were performances by queer hardcore band, Causa, Destruye Y Huye, and the all-female mariachi band La Victoria, who covered Selena’s “Como La Flor”.
Within the sea of leather studded painted jackets, Doc Marten's, bullet belts, band tees, and Mohawks there was still a strong presence of the LGBTQ community. It was as if someone dropped a hardcore show in the middle of a 1980’s new wave gay night club. Some show goers were dressed in full drag as if it was a regular night at SCUM. The punk/hardcore scene with many Scum first timers and outsiders did not compromise the vibe frequent SCUM’s attendees are accustom. Once Limp Wrist hit the stage the room became a place of unity and support. It was clear no matter how any individual identified, everyone shared a love of queercore.
This session of Hunnypot Live started with Hot Tub's brand of party music to celebrate birth and departure. Brooke Trout is a singer/songwriter known for her polyphonic blend of rock, blues and surf tones. Her latest musical project Brill is an indie-alt-acoustic duet with former band mate and Flat Cat Radio host, singer/songwriter Dave Strauss. The group has just released their debut album Fish Out Of Water on CDBaby as well as on iTunes. The album’s first single “O Song” was featured on several programs including JVonD Radio in Boulder, CO, MuseBoat Radio in Las Vegas, NV, The Soupy Gato Show in The Netherlands with syndication in the UK and The Daily Dose on The Insomnia RadioNetwork. Fish Out Of Water has also been featured by Slacker Radio and Muzoic.com. You can check out music videos for Brill’s O Song and Shine on Youtube.
Brooke Trout’s previous albums include the 2012 release Chasing Windmills with The Red Herring which was recorded at Musician’s Institute with Dan Hughley (Manley Laboratories) as well as at the historic 4th Street Recording studio in Santa Monica with Sejo Navajas (Cold Blue Rebels, The People’s Party) and Denise Barbarita (The Roots, Stevie Wonder). Trout’s sophmore album Networth (M-Pire Recording Studio, 2009) features mixing engineer Chuck Wilson (Andre 3000, Dr. Dre) and mastering by Grammy Award winner Nancy Matter (The Who, Ray Charles). Her debut album Bittersweet was recorded with Timon Marmex, creator of Rhythm Core Alpha(SoftEgg Studios, 2006).
These albums achieved airplay on several radio stations and podcasts, as well as positive reviews in the press where Trout was compared to alternative artists like Souixsie Souix, Exene Cervenka and Sinéad O’Connor. Networth featured the musicianship of two bands, The Treble Hooks & The Anchor Men, capturing a sound that was compared to Siouxsie & the Banshees, The B-52s, and X. The title track was awarded “Most Original In Alternative Rock” on Garageband.com. The Red Herring was also compared to The B-52s and Siouxsie & the Banshees. You can expect a dark surf rock sound from this fish! As music critic Billy Sheppard writes, “This level of music pain, in varying tempi, is a serrated cut of raw Souixshe, left in the sun near the mayonnaise for too damn long.”
Chasing Windmills achieved radio play coast to coast, making playlists in major markets including WPPJ in Pittsburgh, PA, WRNR in Annapolis, MD, WRUW in Cleveland, OH, KUNM in Albuquerque, NM, WXDU in Durham, NC, WEFT in Champaign, IL and KMNR in Rolla, MO. The album also showed strong support from New York, charting for two weeks on WPNR in Utica, as well as getting play on WHRW in Bighamton, WMVL in Purchase and WCVM in Morrisville. Chasing Windmills also received great support in Massachusetts on the world famous WUML, getting airplay on a variety of the station’s programs including Moustache For Men, Junk & Stuff, Smith…Brings Only Nice Goods and the heralded program Live From the Fallout Shelter which has been featured in SPIN Magazine. The Red Herring made the Los Angeles indie rock charts for The Deli Magazine and were also finalists in the Eventful.com Battle of the Bands to perform at The Roxy Theatre on the historic Sunset Strip.
Brooke Trout was nominated for All Access Magazine’s 2007 Music Award Show for best female guitarist in a rock, melodic blues category, best female guitarist in a pop, alternative category and best songwriter. In 2008 Brooke Trout was made a Member of the Month for singer/songwriter organization Songsalive and included in Music Connection’s Annual Directory of Artists & Bands. Brill’s Fish Out Of Water was honored with the SongNet Award for 2016.
Brooke Trout is the stage name of Brooke Mason, an experienced journalist and former editor for The Santa Maria Times, Martin Literary Management and Mahoganygirl.com. Born in France, currently living in the US and having traveled all over the
world–including a month living and making music with indigenous people on a small
South Pacific island– Sidney B. has explored and immersed himself in almost every
genre of music there is. From the house beats of Europe through the funk of Latin
America to the lyrical rap of the US, each area has imparted its unique music influence on Sidney, who now brings these styles together into an irresistible pop package.
At the tender age of 25, Sidney expresses himself as not just a singer and songwriter but as a filmmaker and artist too, but has always, in his heart, been a musician first and foremost. Having had his first taste of the industry in a rap group named Hors du Com 1, Sidney has since hosted radio shows in France, written soundtracks for short films and even composed for theater.
The appreciation not just from fans but from other musicians and the music industry as a whole has always been consistent for Sidney. From winning the Best Emerging Artist award at the European Indie Music Festival in 2008, through working on projects with Universal Canada and Warner Music to sharing the red carpet with Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars at last year’s Much Music Awards in Toronto, the accolades continue to roll in with increasing pace.
His slick, club-ready tracks are accompanied by self-directed fast paced videos, making this artist a double threat that’s ready to take centre stage. An award-winning first single,a full length album that’s ready to be released and a video that was the most watched video on YouTube after a Justin Bieber track mean that Sidney B. is on the brink of much-deserved US success–but you can be sure that he won’t stop there.

Hope Springs Eternal, unless you work for the government or it's hardly spring weather in Los Angeles. Last night Hunnypot Live! sprung in to action when Hot Tub hit the decks and opened the show with an eclectic set of bangers. Carla Clark got in to the hot tub and mapped out her music journey with tales of brave utility and tunes of grave electricity. The Songery performed and brought beautiful broken heart songs and dance-able beats, Nekeith stopped in to the tub for a minute to talk about his career before his hype as hell set of future rap classics, Scilla & No:Carrier engaged with electro dark and stormy atmospheres, Selling L.A. delivered catchy riff rock and Morgan: DJ True Savage unleashed a curated DJ set without any regard for how tired our dancing legs would be the next day. Recap and Photos by J. Gray 03/05/2018
How did Carla end up working in the music business? Good question. She has a long history of being a music nerd, starting piano at 5, viola as a teenager, and majoring in music in college. After college, Carla moved to Los Angeles and after working a few odd jobs, she decided to attend the music business program at Musicians Institute in Hollyweird. And, weird it was. But, they had a great internship program. The day of her meeting with the head of the internship program, she walked in to find her grumbling about nobody wanting this internship at NBC Music Services, as everyone wanted to be at a label! Carla asked what this internship was about; it was helping out their department which chose and cleared music for all NBC shows and promos. TV & Music? Carla thought that sounded really cool, and decided to go for it. And, lo and behold, she got the internship and was lucky enough to get a recommendation when a Music Licensing Coordinator position opened up at Rhino Entertainment, part of Warner Music Group, handling clearances for all of the WMG labels. After many years at Rhino, the synch departments at Rhino, and at WMG’s publishing arm Warner/Chappell, merged, so, she was lucky enough to get hands on experience handling publishing clearances too!
After over 11 years at Warner Music Group, Carla decided she needed to broaden her horizons, and left WMG for a mobile app. company, handling clearances for over 200 songs for a musicbased game. It was an organizational nightmare, but, Carla soon had it under control, thanks to Excel and extensive color coding. After leaving the mobile app. company, she was hired at Yep Roc Music Group as their Sync Manager, working with music supervisors, pitching songs and handling clearances.
So, it was pretty ironic that Carla’s career in music business all started with an internship no one else wanted! And, here she is, 14 years later, working at a really amazing label and publisher, Yep Roc Music Group. You never know where life will lead you!

Writing songs that deal with every color and nuance of life, The Songery aims to push mental boundaries through genre-bending pop and theatrics. The concepts, ideas, and messages behind the songs are more important than the songs themselves and every move, every sound, every visual is developed with care and intent in a final attempt to peel back the mask that humanity can so easily wear.
When asked why one person would decide to call herself “The Songery” she replies, “The Songery is more than a persona. It is a call to arms, a spearhead signaling for spiritual awakening, symbolic of an ideology that the world seems to be lacking severely and yet constantly surrounds us. For this reason, my project is grounded in story-line, integrity, concept, and character. I feel very secondary- as if I am the one driving the car, and it’s my car… but I am not the car. The Songery is a name I feel very intertwined with, I feel it so perfectly encapsulates the whimsical world I strive to show people. I’m not quite there yet. I’m still developing, completely on my own, so it is a process… but I’ll get there.”
-I also feel the name gives me freedom to play with all these abstracts and to adopt such a wide range of tones and subject matter. Some very light, some very dark, ranging substantially in color yet all unified within this world. I have been writing songs and performing since I was a little girl, and never really had the belief that I could or should be trying to make a career out of it… until The Songery came along. It sparked a purpose within me. I believe in The Songery with such passion that I want to keep fighting until I see it realized. The Songery comes with power to me. It is more than me. It is bigger than me. If I forfeited the name, the music would not feel the same. Nothing would feel the same. It would not be the same.-
The Songery loves Jonsi, Sigur Ros, Regina Spektor, Danny Elfman, Queen, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Beethoven, all the random hits of the 80s, and pretty much any film score.

The Habits met each other in the blue-collar town of San Pedro, just far enough away from the glamour of the Hollywood glow to be isolated. Comprised of singer/guitarist Wolf Bradley, pianist Chance Famighetti, and drummer Andrew Macatrao, The Habits ground their music in bite size melodies that are impossible to get out of your head. Their music is accompanied by slightly melancholic lyrics that tell a story of love, loss, and everything in between. Their alt/pop sound is unique to them but stems from incongruous avenues of inspiration. From Maroon 5 to Cage the Elephant, The Habits’ music makes you wanna dance and hits you hard in the feels. The three of them have grown up together in Southern California and are more like brothers than band members. Playing pretty much every bar, club, basement, and alleyway in LA, they’ve honed in on their live show skills, giving their audience a lively and fun show experience.

Frak’s newest album, Limewire '03 which dropped this month, has a cohesive feel, as it mostly sampled early 2000's R&B, slowed down, reversed, and transformed into head-bopping bangers. The album attempts to sketch the millennial condition, and how our technology addiction can manifest itself in the nooks and crannies of our days, months and lives.

The YeahTones is the tenacious rock ‘n’ roll brainchild of bandleader and frontman Jake Pinto. Born of a natural healer and a business schemer (read: Florida man), Pinto’s deep-rooted lust for “peaceful” resistance has been long in the making. In 2012, Jake graduated from private university with a degree in music, thousands of dollars in debt and an ample angst for the injustices of the world. Plagued by the typical anger and isolation of a 20 something New Yorker, Jake set aside his pricey jazz education in search of a new more liberating form of expression, enter The YeahTones. On stage The YeahTones explode with punk energy to deliver the straightforward anguish of Jake’s unassuming songwriting. The band makes audiences thrash and scream then hands out a goody bag of catchy riffs and melodies to take home for later. They do all of this while wearing matching outfits. The Brooklyn-based band are supporting their debut record, Eviction Notice, the first presentation of their fearless, unpretentious rock ‘n’ roll.

Combining the lush richness of a film score, the rhythm section of a rock band, and the introspective storytelling of underground rap, Memento is a hip-hop artist from the San Francisco Bay Area.
He loosely categorizes his music as “hip-hop with an indie rock sensibility” — meaning that he uses live instruments and records his vocals within a few takes to capture raw, genuine emotion. Memento avoids the use of studio trickery in order to achieve authenticity, and always believes that less is more.
He approaches his music with the mindset of a composer: he wants the instruments to say what the words are saying, without the words. In order to do this, he pays great attention to detail while crafting his melodies and rhythms. Once the instrumental can express the emotion on its own, Memento paints a picture through his stories, his emotions, and his observations, all while maintaining a brutal honesty.
Juicy J’s video for the song “We Can’t Smoke No Mo” of his latest mixtape, “Shutdafukup” came out last Tuesday. In the song he comes with that classic flow we know him for! Content of the song is a party anthem drizzled with some lyrical content as usual which he always delivers with lines like “To understand you gotta know what I be going through
You think you know but tell the truth if you only knew“ so there is lyrical content as he talks about how weed is what he used to deal with the pain he has been through. As for the video, the video has psychedelic graphics to simulate intoxication. The video also has bright and dark colors that light up the screen It has Juicy J doing what he rapping about smoking good weed and drinking good Activist. We at the Hunnypot would love to hear and see more of Juicy J, go check out his new mixtape “SHUTDAFUKUP” on DATPIFF.COM.

"When They Go Furlough We Get High Though" Hunnypot Live has been accused of shutting down governments before; Last night was a "'buster" Show #383 got off with Hot Tub's bubbling set of music. Tiffany Anders got in to the tub to talk about her career as a musician and music supervisor and dropped a set of forward feminism and just good jams. Little Monarch molted regal music on stage, Power Trip reconstructed hits into power gifts, Trubdr. Adam Road gave us international beats and blessings in a rock band, Lauren Lakis broke hearts (and almost gear) with her dark details, Alessandra Altieri pop'd and locked us in with her songs and performance and h2the closed the night with a super set of dance party music. A Los Angeles native, Tiffany Anders grew up with a lust for music, seeking out bands and attending live shows at a very early age. Her young enthusiasm eventually led her to a recording career of her own, singing backup at the age of 17 on Dinosaur Jr.’s album Where You Been, submitting a song for the heralded soundtrack to Allison Anders’ 1996 female singer-songwriter pop narrative Grace Of My Heart (for which she was also a music consultant), and cutting her 2001 solo debut album, Funny Cry Happy Gift, which was produced by rock icon PJ Harvey and released to critical acclaim. As a music supervisor, she’s worked on such films as Drake Doremus’ Like Crazy, Breathe In and Equals Michael James Johnson’s All The Wilderness, Malik Vitthal’s Imperial Dreams, Ry Russo Young’s Nobody Walks, and James Ponsoldt’s films Smashed, The End of the Tour and The Circle, as well as working on the critically acclaimed FXX television series You’re The Worst, and the upcoming period piece “Everything Sucks! for Netlfix.

A child of Baltimore, Lauren grew to embrace the fatalistic spirit of the city with an ever-present & fearless approach to her work & art. The hand-crafted rawness of her sound bellows deep & true, unscathed by the prevailing winds of today's polite rock. Lauren's persistence & growth in the Los Angeles scene can be attributed to her previous bands Hobart W Fink (vocals), Slow Coda (vocals & keys) , & LA Nova (vocals, keys, bass, programming). She's performed in such LA staples as The Echo, The Satellite, & The Mint; as well asEcho Park Rising & Make Music Pasadena.
Most recently, Lauren mounted a solo-performance in a 2017 SXSW showcase in Austin, TX. Her track Lead Us On has been featured on the M:M Music Meeting Volume 43 compilation album. She is currently playing shows locally in LA with her full band.
FEROCIOUS, her first full-length solo album, is a product of passion & experience folded with a recent personal tragedy. In collaboration with her Producer-Engineer Billy Burke, Lauren explores the full spectrum of the grieving process against a backdrop of shoe-gaze inspired guitars, haunting synth swells, deep-driving beats, & lyrics imparted with true candor. All instrumentals were written & performed by Lauren with the exception of AJ Brown on drums & additional guitars by Chris Garcia & Alex Stills. Mixing tasked to the talented Chris Kasitch (Adele [Grammy-winning], Phantogram, Cee Lo Green). Artwork by Alyssa Burke

h2the merges 80s synths and layered beats from producer Erez ‘Diwon' Safar (Bonhom, Dreams in Static, Tyrone Gosling, etc.), brought to life through dynamic visuals and sound.
URB Magazine wrote that “Safar is something else…in a profound kind of way,” calling his sound titillating and “juicy for the ears,” while The Village Voice described his productions as “adventurous and banging.”
2DOPEBOYZ and Vibe Magazine’s allhiphop.com have also noted h2the’s rap flips of 80?s inspired sonics. It’s the producer as auteur as every track takes you through the emotional space of the artist, like Kanye or Godard.
Hunnypot Live! always has more action and simian behaviour than any gorilla channel. Last night's party was a zoo! Hot Tub Johnnie opened up the party without monkeying with the party format. Oliver Hild brought a strong playlist of party music and spoke to us about his past, present and future in music. Jeshua brought the R&Boy music, Hayek & Young did that duo pop, Wehri & Young did the duo pop with fiddle, Blue Midnight shook the rafters with their hard rock music, Calamity The Kid funked the place up, Spicy Gringo was white hot electro pop and we finished the night with a truly world famous all inclusive dance party. 01/08/2018
Somewhere in the early nineties Oliver picked up a sax. He blew on it for a while. It was fine. But then he picked up a bass. Oliver’s head exploded. He learned how to play all the grunge songs he was hearing at the time and then his mom played him James Brown. More head explosions. He studied the instrument privately and played in pit orchestras for the musicals at his uptight private school that didn’t really have much other outlet for those “raucous electric” instruments and, clamoring for a release of true low end freedom, realized, “if I’m going learn how to be funky as f#@k on this thing, I’m gonna need to learn that on my own.” So he did. He played in lots of bands throughout high school and then later in college at USC, where he obtained a degree in their Music Industry program. Jam bands. Rock bands. Nu-metal bands. Then, college ended. Being broke was real. His bands thought he was lame for “getting a job,” but he did it anyway. Having a job AND being funky as f#@k on bass is very punk rock.
He got a job working within UMe, Universal Music Group’s special markets division, learning basic HTML, web graphics stuff, and music marketing 101. As part of a small team, he worked to drive net traffic to what was, at the time, an upstart concept manning the online Universal Music Store. There you could buy physical product direct from the label instead of through brick & mortar record stores or through Amazon, or this newish thing called iTunes. Oliver had a fro at the time and was mostly just trying to make ends meet, still playing in bands. Then UMG canned that whole division about a year later.
Oliver cut his hair and finagled his way into working with the NBCUniversal TV music department. He still couldn't shake the bands thing and also discovered record production and became obsessed with that. Behold. The world now had yet another bass-playing, producing, music supervisor on its hands. Great. At NBCUniversal, Oliver currently music supervises projects such as The Sinner, Suits, Damnation, & Imposters. He toured with and played bass for the band, Races, and co-produced their record, Year Of The Witch (Frenchkiss). After leaving the band, he focused mostly on producing recordings, some recent examples of which are for artist, Kaely, and co-writing/producing with fellow musician and writer, Rie Sinclair.
Jeshua is a native southern Californian boy with a soulful voice. Training as a dancer, and singing in his church choir, led Jeshua to begin performing professionally at the age of 16. After years of singing in church and dancing on tours, Jeshua soon felt the desire to create music of his own. His musical stylings are influenced by his afro-latino heritage and his time spent singing in the gospel choir at church as well as sounds picked up from his travels. With a mix of soul, pop, folk, funk and dance music Jeshua blends together the influences to create an eclectic musical experience. With his debut EP on the way (slate for early February 2018) Jeshua is a force on the verge.
HAYEK & YOUNG bring their midwestern roots to the pacific ocean, blending multiple genres to create a unique California sound. WEHRI & YOUNG are an indie music duo with a fresh California sound. Featuring Alex Wehri on viola and vocals and Kevin Young on guitar and vocals -- join these two on there are many adventures…
Blue Midnight (Justine Glaser) is a singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and fashion designer from Los Angeles, CA. She began performing music at the age of 8. Her powerful music is a blend of alternative rock, symphonic metal, and grunge. Her influences include Nirvana, Bjork, Evanescence, Muse, The Cure, Kate Bush, Linkin Park, Led Zeppelin, Mozart, and Alanis Morissette.
Blue Midnight has the rare gift of synesthesia, the ability to blend sound and colors in her mind, resulting in her vivid musical imagination. She is lead vocalist and also plays piano, guitar, and harp. She plays acoustic shows solo as well as concerts with her full band, which includes noted musicians in the Los Angeles metal scene.
She is in the process of recording her debut album, Eternal Wish, with producer/composer and cousin, Sam Glaser. The album is slated to be released February 2018.

Born and raised in NYC, then dragged to Vegas, where he discovered rock and roll. He toured the world, struggled with mental health and addiction, but he conquered it all. Spicy Gringo will conquer your ear drums with the sweet sounds and grooves he emits.
