Fans of Canadian deathcore Brand of Sacrifice have dropped an incredible new single entitled "Enemy" and it fails to disappoint! This one features Underoath's Spencer Chamberlain and has quickly become one of my favorites since its release on August 5th. Accompanying the release is a cinematic short film, devised and scored by the band, that serves as a prequel to the epic story line featured in video for the band's previous track, "Animal". Super cool cinematography if you ask me and definitely brings context to an already amazing song.
Speaking on the new track, guitarist and producer, Micheal Leo Valeri shares - “We wrote Enemy as a standalone release, expanding on some of the more melodic and metalcore moments on songs like ‘Animal,’ ‘Foe of the Inhuman’ and ‘Vengeance.’ The possibility of getting Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath) on guest vocals was electrifying. We were already excited about the song, but his ability to elicit emotion by leading into his screams with tormented talking brought it to the next level. He perfectly complemented our goal on the song. We’re also releasing two remixes of Lifeblood songs, like full-on electronic bangers that retain the musical motifs but present them as entirely different styles and moods. We’re beyond proud that our music can transcend boundaries like that."
Speaking on the inspiration for the "Enemy" Manga comic, frontman, Kyle Anderson adds - "It’s no secret that we have drawn many of our lyrical themes—and even our name—from Berserk, the dark manga masterpiece by Kentaro Miura (RIP). As we move further away from Berserk as a direct reference point, we wanted to expand on the lore on our album art in the best possible format: manga. We’re very proud to expand the Brand of Sacrifice universe and hope our fans like it too, which would allow us to continue telling our own story.”
If you don't already follow this band, you definitely need to. Their definitely on the rise and "Enemy" showcases their incredible metal chops. They will be a force to be reckoned with in the not-so-distant future!
Our industry guest host, Robert Messinger, had to reschedule for a later date.
Hot Tub Johnnie stepped up with party tunes to step up and down to.
St. Bodhi (from Hunnypot intern to superstar) sang, rapped and rocked therapy wrapped in hooks.
Mad Circuit also has the "mad notes from god herself". LG Team Genius and Sereda partied, popped, and locked us in with music and moves.
Hot Tub kept the after party lively with the big beats. 8/9/2021
Saint Bodhi’s music is eclectic and bold because it had to be. The Los Angeles singer and songwriter dives deliriously between expansive sounds and styles?—aquatic R&B, dreamy rap, and avant funk, among other genres?—as a way of conveying the complexity of her history and emotions. She looks to both past and present with unflinching honesty on her acclaimed 2020 debut Mad World, which digs through the traumatic memories of a tough childhood and toasts the hard-won success of her recent years. On 2021’s vibrant Antisocial, she continues to enjoy the blessings of her rise, preserving a peace that took decades to attain by both turning up and looking inward, making kaleidoscopic songs that feel deeply meditative and quietly anthemic.
After growing up in South Central L.A., Bodhi parlayed her early love for an eclectic mix of powerful songwriters—Nina Simone, Nirvana, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, Eminem, Stevie Wonder—into a burgeoning songwriting career. Her talent and tenacity carried her into writing rooms with the likes of Cortez Bryant and Teddy Riley. Her hustle paid off when she landed a publishing deal, and quickly became an in-demand writer, collaborating with top-tier artists like A$AP Rocky, Jaden Smith, and Kevin Gates. She even earned a 2021 Grammy nomination for her work on Lecrae's "Sunday Morning" duet with Kirk Franklin. But when she started recording colorful demos of her own, it became clear that her artistry went beyond serving others’ visions.
Since signing with Def Jam, Bodhi’s moved from behind-the-scenes to fully fledged star. Mad World was bolstered by poignant single “FlowerChild,” which displayed Bodhi’s soulful vocals and offered glimpses of her upbringing: “Feet hit the pavement, sirens are blarin' / Crackheads'll get ya what ya need, how much you payin'?” The song received praise from Revolt, Teen Vogue, and FADER, which highlighted its “cutting lyricism.” You could also hear sharp writing on tracks like “Pray,” where Bodhi delivered stern warnings to anyone who might “test her love.”

Our guest host/legend, Fred Jasper, told the tale that told the tale of his music industry adventures and shared a playlist of his unique personality.
Warsaw Pact fought against musical mediocrity overreach with an Iron Block of newish wavy rock.
Binx returned with her "Bumble Pop" music and sights and was joined by Mada Atoms's particle accelerating raps and riffs. 7/26/2021
Fred Jasper is the Head of Licensing for Yep Roc Records, Sundazed Music and Riff City Sounds Publishing. He has been based in Los Angeles since moving here from North Carolina in 1999 to become the west coast liaison for Sugar Hill Records (the legendary Americana/Bluegrass/Folk/etc. record label, not the legendary Hip Hop label) after Sugar Hill was sold to the Welk Music Group (Vanguard Records, Ranwood Records).
After stints in publicity + sales & marketing for Sugar Hill, Fred switched to music licensing in 2005 for all of the Welk Music Group labels, eventually becoming VP of TV/Film Licensing until Vanguard + Sugar Hill were sold to Concord Music in 2015. At Concord, Fred continued to specialize in licensing music from the Sugar Hill and Vanguard catalogs and also began producing compilations for Concord’s reissue arm, Craft Recordings.
In March of 2019, Fred began working at Yep Roc Records, a record label he has been a fan of since he brought in their very first releases on consignment while managing the Record Exchange in Raleigh, NC in the mid-to-late 90s. Fred has only ever worked at a record store or a record label since graduating from college in the early ‘90s, and finds it hard to imagine earning a living doing anything else other than working in, with or around music.
Starting life as the solo project of Ivan Delint in 2018, with the goal of fusing dance-punk and dark wave into it’s own unique brew, Warsaw Pact released “Extended Play I” to favorable reviews and opened for such classic act Pink Turns Blue, playing to a max capacity crowd at Echo Park's Part Time Punks.

I have a soft spot in my heart for women on the pole, but an even softer spot for Zeus Rebel Waters. Tuning his usual rasp toward the traditional trap beat, the one word that can describe his 2020 single “Luv” love is, “classic”. The simplicity of the song’s intention and video pairing proves that you don’t need to mess around with a good thing, but messing around can help to find a good thing. Should you be so lucky to catch Zeus on his next tour, the live version of “Luv” rocks the instrumentals so hard, you almost forget it wasn’t produced that way.
This sort of authenticity of taking something familiar and giving it a new flair, is sort of a Rebel Waters specialty. The “Luv” experience also extends to Zues’ reality show, “I Need Luv” (catch it on YouTube now!!) where you can watch Zeus look for love in his hometown St. Louis, Missouri.
The time honored tradition of singing the whoas and woes of luving the hoes is in good hands with Zues. With his finger on the pulse and an enigmatic energy all his own, there’s a lot to “Luv” when it comes to Zues. Hunnypot Approved.

I was sent this video by Amyl and the Sniffers the other day and immediately gave it a watch. At first listen, I was like, "Where have I heard this style of music before?" It reminded me a lot of a local band I listen to here in Dallas called Mutha-Falcon and instantly got into this amazing song. I love the grit Amyl brings to the song and it's accompanying video. While she's singing, you see the others in the band just standing around her which adds such a cool style and contrast to what is going on. In addition, Amyl kills it lyrically which matches perfectly to this style of music, message, and overall tone of the song. All around, "Guided by Angels" has a super unique sound that I think you're gonna dig. Definitely give this a watch and check out more of Amyl and The Sniffers wherever you stream your music!

In 2016 Indica debuted his single 'She So Crazy' on The FADER gaining underground recognition. Soon after he released his debut self titled project, Indica. Singles 'Kumbaya' and 'Ahead/ Level Up' display his relaxed, melodic flow patterns that are not limited to one genre, as he can cross into Latin Reggaeton flows effortlessly for example, his single 'Jugamos'.
Experimenting with sonics Indica released a second project RETROMODERN in 2019, a 1980's themed album produced by Andrew Luce; Inspired by Daft Punk and Tame Impala. Indica is currently independent.
Country has long been a polarizing, impenetrable genre subjugated to the “but..” of the sentence, “I listen to everything,”. In a time where cross-pollination is the only way to stay current, it's also a genre that has maintained its air of sovereignty, managing to slyly subvert the popsphere by pivoting from classic ballads to party anthems. But even before Lil’ Nas X finally started calling a spade a spade, anyone who listened to modern Country could hear Hip-Hop’s influence.
SHY & D.R.S have long been mixologists of hip-hop. Hailing from Aberdeen, Scotland. These twin brothers know how to create a cocktail of sound, making chart-quality bops that meld melody and quick cadence with fine-tuned features. Their 2020 release “Flex” featuring Josh Setterfield is a quippy ditty with the perfect amount of get-money grit that gives a fresh new entry to the Country Hip-Hop genre. The energetic twang of Josh Setterfield elevates the classic trap beat, complimenting the brothers native Scottish swag.
The video substitutes our artists with 3 little dudes showing off how they turn that wheat into bread, flexing all over the farm. It’s a little “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” (featuring Zach Galifinakis and Will Oldham) and a whole lot of swerve. One of my favorite aspects of the video is how SHY, D.R.S and Josh Setterfield’s surrogates mastery of the lyrics directly correlates with their screen time, adding to the playfully juvenile nature of the video. It’s great to see the kids having fun outside these days. Shout-out to the spot-on casting for Josh Setterfield, that kid is selling it. You can bet “Flex” is Hunnypot approved.

Information Society’s new album, ODDfellows, is explosive from the start and carries a powerful energy throughout. Their first album in five years, ODDfellows reissues their previous singles, "Nothing Prevails", "Bennington", and "World Enough", along with several new songs that surely hold up on their own. This is a fun one, and there is plenty to love about this release.
"Extraordinary Popular Delusions" and "The Madness Of Crowds" kicks off the album with a choppy instrumental that has hints of their early work. The song pleasantly previews the healthy mix of old and new school ideas and techniques InSoc has developed in their sound over the decades. The next song, "Would You Like Me If I Played A Guitar", takes a turn for a more organized mix, while their 2019 drop, "World Enough", has a more laid back feel. This makes for a strong start to the album and aligns nicely with their roots as a group known for experimenting.
"Room 1904" is one of those tracks that has a clear retro influence, but feels equally like something right out of today and highlights their talent for giving their music its own unique personality. "Nothing Prevails" was released as a single in 2018, and it fits right in as the middle track. The song is pumped up and easily one of the best on the album. "Being Me" plays like a power ballad, and the music in this song is incredible. Their 2019 single, "Bennington", picks the energy back up, but still maintains a similar melancholy mood as did the previous song. Much of this feels like the meat of the album; the varying styles come together well and keep the songs from becoming stale.
"Down In Flames" takes off then immediately breaks into a tasty groove. It’s simple, but the production and sampling choices there may be some of my personal favorites on this album. "Grups" is a chill, slow burn with a worthy payoff. It’s engaging without doing too much; full of weight without being too heavy. Finally, "The Mymble’s Daughter", is an excellent track, and a perfect choice to close this one out.
Altogether, ODDfellows is lively, dynamic, and has great replay value. This album is reminiscent of Information Society's storied synthpop roots, but highlights their continued evolution. At the same time, it is incomparable to their past work and stands entirely its own. Whether you love electronic music or you just love a good vibe, do not sleep on this album. It's definitely one that will race up the charts on August 6th!
Be well and keep rocking! Hunnypot Approved! Overall Rating: 8.6 out of 10

If you’ve been roaming the dancehall desert searching for the next wave of underground sonic planeteers, look no further than Sean the Star Emperor. Sean the Star brings his voguing, Minogueing bounce in his new single, sending Earth a message of contentment in “Paradise”. Best enjoyed under bright beams, “Paradise” is a light and hip-poppy earworm perfect for a kiki, a party, a drive and pretty much any situation that could stand for an extra dose of sunshine.
Sean and his popsicle hued go-go skaters bring to life the music video that epitomises the song’s imaginative, escapist theme. Exasperated by the blandness of this mortal world, Sean flounces onto the street and syncopates his frustration to unveil a colorful, splashy good time right outside the house. Gliding through this new dimension, collecting friends and good vibrations in a single long-take vacation.
“Paradise” is a composite of imagination and reality, of expectations and exploration. Life confined to your immediate surroundings can be a bummer, but Sean the Star Emperor puts it best, “Fun is what we make of the conditions: ‘Any way you like, wake up to Paradise…’” When you work with what you have, it’s all bliss, sis.
