Halsey, 20 years old, from New Jersey, also known as Ashley Frangipane, came out with an electric album titled Badlands. Her song "New Americana" is haunting and romantic, with the lyrics, “High on legal marijuana, raised on Biggie and Nirvana.” that will stick in your head for days. Her new album and song are blowing up.
"When I say jump, shake that bump"
"Straighten up, click ya boots"
"Salute!"
"Let's march"
"Comb over, and do it like Donald Trump"
"Let's do the Double Wide"
Today our boy Hollywood Rick Sickman dropped a sick (pun intended) new video called Double Wide. This ass shakin' video showcases Rick and his ladies doing the hottest new dance of 2016; move over Nae Nae, the Double Wide is here! #SpittinRhymes
With folky flowing vocals , ArtPeace, comprised of Chrissy DePauw and Grammy nominated songwriter Taura Stinson (who has written with/for Kanye, Andre 3000 and Destiny's Child among others) take us on a drug fueled tale of love and loss with their album single "Hi:)"
A headboard for a song? Sound like a fair trade? Well that's the craigslist ad that led to these two singers meeting, and the writing session that transformed into ArtPeace. This unique "Folk &B" project released a trippy video for their single "Hi:)" along with an album sampler in anticipation of their new full length album, Free Music, to be released on Oct 23.
We can't wait to see these two perform "Hi:)" and the rest of the album at Hunnypot Live Event coming up on November 16th at The Mint!

This band is quickly gaining a following in LA.They just released their debut EP, featuring standout singles "Wildman" and "Soaked". From the punishing, fuzzled out synths of "Wildman" to the 808 and guitar driven "Flash flood Warning," the EP firmly establishes Sun Drug's mesmerizing brand of indie rock.
DARKNESS COVERED THE LAND. ITS FOG SEDUCED, CRAWLED AND SUFFOCATED. DREAMS WERE DESOLATE – PLEADS TO THE STARS. THE QUEST BECAME CLEAR; THE EMPRESSES HAD TO COMBINE THEIR POWERS TO OVERCOME THE VOID. AS ONE, THEIR JOURNEY BEGAN – FOR THE ILLUMINATION OF THE UNIVERSE. THE COMBINATION OF THEIR POWERS, ARTISTRY, INNOVATION AND ELECTRONIC EXECUTION IS LEX.
All four members of Niantic are Southern California natives – a fact wildly apparent in every track of their 6-song EP Vertical. Starting with the kaleidoscopic, prime-time thrill rides of “Phillip Rivers” and “You Got Nothing You Don’t Want” through the murder-on-the-beach stormy surf of “Blades”, concluding with the relentless, desert-driving “Janus”... California is both the beautiful blood and gritty guts of the band’s Not Dead Yet Records debut. This genre-blending sound covers decades of influences in seconds before each song blooms into instant, repeatable grooves.

Hunnypot #326 kicked off with Hot Tub Johnnie’s DJ set which included a couple of up and coming artists such as Superhumanoids (“Anxious In Venice”) and Young Creatures (“Fear All the Things”). Johnnie transitioned into a classic by Eddie Heywood and Hugo Winterhalter (“Canadian Sunset”) leading into the Hot Tub interview with The Greys.
The three siblings who make up The Greys—Sydney, Jayden, & Silas—sat down with Hot Tub Johnnie to discuss what they have done thus far and what’s in store for the future. We then get into Hot Tub’s second DJ set. He started off with Sydney’s favorite Jhene Aiko and rounded things off with Arnaud Rebotini’s Pagan Dance Move.
Sanaz Lavaedian joins Jeff "Pesci" Gray and Hot Tub for her FIFTH DJ SET. She is crowed with an honorary Fez as a newly minted member of Hunnypots 5-Timers club, joining luminaries Thomas Golubic and PJ Bloom. We get into Sanaz’s set with some new and established artists. “Born To Shine” by Big Grams ft Run The Jewels is one of the crowd favorites.
The Greys then take the stage and incorporate a variety of genres into their music. Their friend Jus Charlie is up next and he serendates the crowd with his vocals. We transition to rock music next with Ships Have Sailed, another up and coming band in LA. Mike Burns then takes over the DJ booth with some remixed Hunnypot classics. Longtime Hunnypot regular Giraffe preforms next and is followed by Spanish duo The Blue Dolphins. We close out with the Hunnypot Dance Party. See you next time! 10/05/2015
Music supervisor/tastemaker Sanaz Lavaedian returns for another Hunnypot Guest DJ Set! Ships Have Sailed, an alternative pop-rock duo hailing from Los Angeles, debuted their first EP, Someday in 2014, which gained heavy airplay on College, NPR, and commercial radio in the US and Canada. After the sucess of Moodswings, Ships have Sailed have partnered up with several DJ's to remix the hit singles off the LP.
Band Members: Will Carpenter - guitar/vocals; Dan Hange - Bass
Giraffe is Gayle Davidson and her band. The name is kind of a funny story. Gayle has the heart and legs of a European Giraffe. She lives in a fancy farm house in the Hollywood Hills, with a strange producer and her slightly deranged little girl, Petal.
The Blue Dolphins are a Los Angeles-based songwriting duo composed of singer/songwriter Victoria C. Scott and two-time Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Alfonso G. Rodenas. Andddddd….Hunnypot Live Episode 325 kicked off with a BRAND NEW opening from our very own Ryan Taalbi! Hot Tub Johnnie was leaning more rock with this DJ set and we rocked out to it the entire time. Definitely a party set. The guys kicked it off by drooling over Linda Ronstadt. Shit we would too! Hot Tub Johnnie and the boys got into the night’s lineup. Of course, there were some jokes (lame and otherwise) about Dinosaur Dick. Is Dinosaur Dick’s tag line “Non-cock fun?” There were a lot of other jokes.
We then moved into the second half of Hot Tub Johnnie’s DJ set which began with the amazing Fiona Grey and her song “What you want.” (She will be at the show November 16th!) We closed this set with the new classic Dr. Pepper and Chunky. Side note: “I dun rocked more ice than Michele Quan” is an amazing line from Dr. Pepper.
Jude Gold and his funky self then joined Hot Tube Johnnie and Pesci in the Hot Tub with a guitar. We weren’t sure what was going to happen, but it was epic. Jude Gold played a series of funky tracks during his DJ set and illustrated different aspects of each song.
The young up-and-comers Wes Mantra then took the Hunnypot stage. Lena Fayre followed with a mesmerizing performance. We can see why she’s gaining so much buzz. Well Hung Heart was up next. They had some seriously heartfelt songs in their repertoire. Dinosaur Dick took over The Mint with their act. It was nethanderthal fury personified, complete with random Dinosaur noises. All the way from Chi-town, Grindin’ Pun closed out the night with an energetic performance. Hot Tub Johnnie closed by expressing his love to the listeners. See you next time! 9/21/2015

Lena Fayre's latest release, a five-track EP titled "Is There Only One?", was released in late July, 2015. No small feat for an artist doing things on their own.

Allen Lane, aka Grindin' Pun started his career writing poems in the 4th grade. His love of writing poems quickly inspired him to write rap lyrics. In 2001, Pun and his three cousins started a rap group called "S.W.A.T.” The group was later renamed "Chi-Town Shysters," also known as C.T.S. in 2006.
Pun has appeared on public access television numerous times, and blazed stages throughout the mid-west, south, and east coast. In addition, Pun has been featured on 25 mix-Tapes since May 2008 along with releasing 4 solo mix-tapes. Grindin' Pun successfully achieved radio play on Chicago's biggest hip-hop radio station, 107.5 WGCI, with his song entitled "Gangsta On" in 2008. December 2013 marked the release of part 2 of his "Established 2 Grind" mix-tape series with songs that are climbing the iTunes and Spotify charts. With so much success, at the age of 25, Grindin' Pun has a right to call himself one of the best independent rap artists in the world.
Hunnypot 324 LABOR DAY edition kicked off with a steamy session in the hot tub. We're referring to DJ Rap, not Pesci's lack of clothing. DJ Rap chopped it up with Hot Tub Johnnie and Jeff "Pesci" Gray and reminisced about her challenges and success in the music industry. As she puts it "I've definitely been financially raped with no lube." We then moved into DJ Rap's DJ set, which includes a myriad of 80's classics. So, of course Phil Collins and Madonna were a must.
Hot Sauce Holiday arrived with a green box. They lit The Mint up with their singularly unique cabaret-style set and molested the green box....there are pictures. DJ Rap got down on the dance floor and showed off another one of her many talents.
Breakfast, a band whose videos have been heavily featured on Hunnypot's daily video pick, took the stage next and fascinated us with their amazingly produced songs. We look forward to seeing much more great things from them.
Avant guard, disco-style duo Pr0files took the stage next and delivered an awesome performance. We closed the night off with the up and comer Jake Davis. Comparisons to Adam Levine of Maroon 5 were definitely made. 9/07/2015
Charissa Saverio, a.k.a. DJ RAP, has been the undisputed queen of the turntables and voted the number one female DJ in the world! DJ Rap has infiltrated the music industry with her arsenal of talent. She has established herself as the CEO of her labels: Propa and Impropa Talent, developed her creative direction as a full-fledged producer, and remains to be the recording artist and DJ that everyone has come to love and love to dance to! She is also a classically trained pianist and song writer, amongst many other talents! Rap has dominated such genres as house and drum & bass. However, her love for music has taken her through many reflections of genres and musical experiences.
Multi-talented, accomplished, ambitious, and driven by her passion to create and her love for music, DJ Rap is not a name from music's past, it is the name of music now and an inspiration to music's future. We'll be interviewing Charissa while experiencing her Hunnypot curated listening session.

After meeting in Los Angeles, Andrea Adolph, Max Bussell, Sean Dwyer and Luciano Russo began making music together in 2010, eventually forming BREAKFAST in 2012. After self-releasing their first album, Sun/Moon, later that year, the band played a few unofficial showcases at SXSW in 2013 before joining up with Red Bull Sound Select and continuing to play shows throughout LA and the US.
Each member plays a variety of instruments and their live sets see them switch roles frequently during shows, a dynamic that is present in both their music and their relationship as a band. They all share the spotlight, and equally contribute to the creation of their music and their distinctive sound. A pairing of pop and analog synths, their style is at once innovative and delightfully retro, both fresh and familiar.
Pr0files is comprised of longtime friends, Lauren Pardini and Danny Sternbaum. Their first collaboration was in 2008 under Danny's prior project, The Boy Traveler, which also featured Sonny Moore aka Skrillex. They went on to work separately, Lauren writing and playing keyboards in hip-hop producer, DJ Khalil's camp working with such artists as Corin from Purity Ring and A$AP Rocky. Meanwhile, Danny toured with his band, Baby Monster (supporting Klaxons, Miike Snow and Metric to name a few) as well as remixing tracks for artists including Ellie Goulding, Gorillaz and Miami Horror.
For the next few years, they collaborated intermittently until the summer of 2013 when a devastating break-up fueled the writing of the song, "Call Yourself A Lover." They self-released the track 6 weeks later where it was met with immediate viral success topping Hype Machine with blogs such as Hilly Dilly praising: "It’s not every day that a debut track can make you sit up and REALLY take notice."
Since then, they have started their own record label, Straight A Records which includes such releases as "Forgive" and most recently "Get it Up." Both songs have topped Hype Machine as well as being featured on Spotify's New Music Tuesday Playlist. They have played sold out shows throughout Los Angeles opening for such acts as The Dø and Tei Shi while playing in warehouses throughout the city. All the while, scoring a tv show for Marvel as well as landing placements with Go Pro and Grey's Anatomy.
They are currently working on their full album, JURASSIC TECHNOLOGIE set for release in fall 2015 with plans to tour.

He's from Sherman Oaks, but that phrase means nothing to you. His music and general apathy reign from the valley. That's right, THE valley. As in the one that hugs the top of Los Angeles, desperately longing to be invited to its party, but not willing to get its hands dirty. Jake waves the flag of AstroTurf-suburbia with shamelessness and appreciation for the finer things in life: Mel's Diner, house parties, and the phrase, "I'll be there in twenty."
So now you know where he's from, but what does he do? On May 12th, his debut album K dropped on CandyRat Records. The live band consists of Mr. Davis, Jamestown III, and Jadigilish Mongoon: cooking up something good. If you want to know more about Jake and the band, simply consume everything he's ever done.

The good vibes began with head honcho Hot Tub Johnnie's show opening set which contained a deftly daft mix of next level rockabilly (Bop Kings), modern rock (Whisky Stain) and trendy picks (Kiiara, The Preatures) and left-of-center staples such as “Take The Skinheads Bowling” by Camper Van Beethoven, after which Abby North of North Music Group dropped in to give us the unchained story on the career of super composer Alex North. Not only did she treat us to an expertly curated listening session that included excerpts from classic North-composed scores from films such as "Spartacus", "A Street Car Named Desire", "Cleopatra", and "Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?", but also an inside looks at the original recording of the now legendary "Unchained Melody".
After a look at North Music past, we delved into their present and future with an interview and live performance from Ainjel Emme, featuring an emotionally moving performance of her newest single, "Machine". Once the stage was set for the night, British bombshell Tamar Leek and her band Reveries took the energy to the next level, passing the baton to Little Fortune, and while there were no sons of sitting U.S. Senators in the audience, we were all most definitely fortunate for sticking around the party because Madus closed down the night with a scorching set that included soaring vocals and searing guitars. If you missed out, there's always another time to play! We'll be back on September 7th with live sets from Breakfast, Pr0files, and Hot Sauce Holiday. 08/24/2015
North Music Group LLC is a multi-faceted music media company that functions as a music publisher, music supervision firm, & record label.
Songwriter / Multi-Intstrumentalist / Studio Rat / Lefty-Who-Plays-Righty Ainjel Emme grew up on a steady diet of analog rock, late night living room jams, 4 track cassette recordings, and interstate highways. Thus far in her delicately blooming solo career, Ainjel has written and produced two independent albums (HEARTACHE IS BORING and EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL).
Tamar Leek of Birmingham, England, is in Los Angeles mixing her seven-song EP, "Change In The Retrograde," with her band Reveries. Tamar served a stint in a British all-girl band, hosted music interviews for Vulture TV, and studied as a tattoo artist, before being persuaded to come to LA by a couple of producers who overheard her singing to herself in a London pizza parlor. As it turned out, Tamar not only had a beautiful voice, she also had roots in hard rock and quite a lot to say. The songs on the album, co-written with the band and producer Sejo Navajas, are elegant and painful, lyrically striking a continued metaphor about the betrayal of technology to our human selves, the struggle of analog love in a digital world. Jose Alcantar (Interscope, American Idol) is mixing "Change In The Retrograde," which was recorded at 4th Street Recording. It features newly released 'Satellite control', and their pre-release single "Lullaby" which earned a #4 spot on ReverbNation's Rock Chart, and was #8 on Scuzz TV's Chart of "The Hottest Videos in the World," not to mention the only unsigned band on the list.
Little Fortune is a new project started by L.A. based musicians Doran Danoff, Yonatan, and Jorge Balbi. With a modern synth based sound at their core, the trio explores dark and lush electro pop with an emphasis on innovative song writing and arrangements. Beautiful falsetto voices mix with soulful lyrics and vintage undertones in an emotional and sexy sound.
MADUS, formerly known as Tangent Transmission, is ready to hit the music scene with a new sound and more ambition than ever! For listeners of Muse, Jeff Buckley, and Incubus, while still keeping it dark, fun, and funky fresh. Debut EP coming out soon!
"Growth and evolving as an artist" are the two things that the L.A. native Haze says keep driving him to deliver new music for his core following. The 26 year old says he's putting the final touches on his forthcoming project, he says a lots happened in his life in the time between he released his last full length project titled "Young Man's World" and after a listen to some of the featured records that fact is evident. Check out some of the new heat.
