Hot Tub Johnnie and the HP Radio crew once again delivered an outstanding show for all who attended The Mint LA and/or listened live online. Johnnie kicked off the 266th radio show with a smokin’ set featuring gems from Oliver Tank, Brøthers, Here We Go Magic, Peachcake, Kasey K., The Cataracs, 5150 Squad and much more.
Our special guest of the night was none other than 25+ year music industry veteran, Andy Ross (Cutting Edge Group). Andy prepared an exceptional set that paid tribute to the punk years or “Thatcher Years” that shaped and pioneered the early punk music scene in Britain. Andy’s set was loaded with classics from Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Clash, Jilted John, The Smiths, The Specials, and Elvis Costello.
The first live performers of the night were LA based indie-pop duo, Blazing Hips. Playing only their second official show together, the boys came out with a groovy edged, retro pop set that featured their standout singles “The Wolf” and “Cheetah” a quirky uptempo synth-pop, dance gem.
Our second performer of the night was LA based indie rock, singer-songwriter, Inch Chua. Quickly establishing herself as one of the must-see acts in the LA scene, Inch and her extremely talented band completely stole the show; taking it to a whole new level. Inch’s guitar skills and vocals were explosive, especially while premiering new material from her forthcoming sophmore album, due for release later this year. Coming back for an encore performance was none other than LA based (London bound) sister DJ duo, Le Twist. This was a very special performance, as it was Le Twist’s final LA show before they treked across the pond to London town. It was the perfect send off for the girls who prepared an exposive dance set loaded with many of today’s top hip hop, trap, pop, house and electro bangers. Briana and Dani will be hugely missed, but we wish them all the best on their musical dance journey. Officially closing out the night was Hunnypot fav and LA based (via Chicago) MC/producer, E-Train. Joining us for a brief exclusive performance, E-Train and Blingstein premiered 2 new unreleased trap bangers that we can expect to be dropping very soon.

Andy has 25 years experience in the music industry. He spent 10 years at Courtyard Management (Radiohead, Supergrass), where he managed new artists, ran the record label and publishing company. Andy was also Head of Marketing at Freakstreat Records (Shola Ama, D-Influence). He moved from London to Hollywood 10 years ago and has since grossed over $1m in placements for the bands he has managed, including the ’Grey’s Anatomy’ theme tune, as well as working on music for over 100 commercials. He has supervised and coordinated music for over 80 movies in the past 3 years. He currently manages Cutting Edge Group's North American music department, and loves fusion music, anything with soul, originality or that stands out from the crowd....
Blazing Hips is an indie-pop duo from Los Angeles with a curious fixation on the animal kingdom. Formed in 2013, The group has already produced two fauna-pop favorites; “Wolf” and “Cheetah” Employing a veritable zoo of sounds- fuzzy vocals, groovy bass, bombastically retro synths, drum machines and tambourines, Blazing Hips makes 4-minutes-and-under safaris into the jungle of retro edged pop, emerging as a final earworm chorus brings things to an almost too-soon close. Blazing Hips is Nicholas Tashjian and Kelvin Stewart. Nick goes to bed at a reasonable hour and always wears comfortable shoes. Kelvin likes weak tea, saltines, and a warm bath. Both can be found at Blazing Hips shows around the LA area, or working on forthcoming releases.

Born and raised in a colourful family of theatre pedigree in Singapore, Inch was always destined for the performing arts. She learnt the guitar and started songwriting while enrolled at fine arts school. In 2009, Inch gained the attention of music critics with the release of her debut EP, The Bedroom - a collection of playfully delightful melodies. The success of The Bedroom opened the door to her first invitation to SXSW Music Festival in 2010.
Since then, Inch played at The Canadian Music Festival and again at SXSW in 2012, opened for The Like, Katy Perry, Macy Gray and Vampire Weekend, performed at Asia’s key festivals MIDI (Beijing, China), Mosaic (Singapore), Baybeats (Singapore), Music Matters (Singapore) & TEDxWomen (Washington DC). Following The Bedroom, Inch released Peace, Love & Mistletoe in December 2009; and an acclaimed full-length album Wallflower in 2010.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Inch is working on her sophomore album Bumfuzzle; a work which has had her ruminating on coming of age and penning rawer, darker material.

Last week was our debut show at The Mint LA and it was a packed house as we popped the cherry for our new Hot Tub home. Kicking the show off with a smokin’ new housewarming set was Hot Tub Johnnie who played current singles from Raquel Rodriguez, Casey K., SOLARDRIVE, The Strypes, Bonhom, Hanni El Khatib, Here We Go Magic, What’s Eating Gilbert (Live on HPR 6/17) and much more.
Coming back for her second Hunnypot DJ set was music supervisor/tastemaker, Sanaz Lavaedian of mOcean (nominated for 6 Golden Trailer Awards 2013). Sanaz is the go to gal for all things music on many of today’s huge box office trailers like Avengers, Hangover III, Wreck It Ralph, The Call and many more. With that said Sanaz gave a a little taste of some of her top artists this year so far which included cuts from P.O.S. w/ Bon Iver, Hanni El Khatib, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Glass Animals, James Blake and much more. Setting off the first Hunnypot live performance at The Mint was none other than LA favorite Cisco Adler. Before taking the stage Cisco sat down for a brief interview with Hot Tub Johnnie as they reminisced on the early days of Cisco and coming up with Mickey Avalon. And bringing it full circle Johnnie played Cisco & Mickey’s “Jane Fonda” and also dropped “Boom Boom Boom” the new single off Cisco Adler’s latest album Aloha. Cisco took the stage and it was smooth sailing from there on as he jammed out with his acoustic guitar backed with soothing beach infused beats. The highlights of the night were the standout tracks “Medicine”, “Ur The One” and “Waking Up In Paradise” which turned the Mint into a beach party. Sailing into our next set for their first ever live performance was LA based duo and HP favorites Bonhom. Preparing for the release of their debut EP Top of the World, the boys cruised through a set featuring the dream-pop singles “Live For Now”, “Free My Love” and electro alt rocker “Animal”.
Hunnypot’s own and LA electro pop, funk, brother duo, Das Tapes joined us for another classic live performance as they gear up for the release of their forthcoming EP Supreme due out on May 28th. The boys displayed an exceptional live set featuring party favorite “This Party”, the Prince cover “Kiss”, “Dynomite” and more.
Closing out the night was none other than LA based singer-songwriter, Anna Rose. Ms. Rose took to the stage and performed a laid back set of soothing r&b pop jams. Anna is currently preparing to release her new EP and putting the finishing touches on the lead single/video which will be out soon.

Industry tastemaker, Sanaz Lavaedian (Music Supervsior, mOcean). Sanaz started out in 2009 as music coordinator for Robin Kaye’s SynchroniCity. In 2010 Sanaz joined Reel Music under theguiding mentorship of Robin Urdang and worked on projects such as ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, FOX’s The Good Guys, USA’s Burn Notice, Rabbit Hole, Pirahna 3D, L!fe Happens, The Oranges and 2011’s critically acclaimed Beginners. Sanaz recently finished work on the 2012 films Some Guy Who Kills People and The Giant Mechanical Man.

Hunnypot’s own Bonhom is the new LA based pop project co-created by two musical masterminds: singer/songwriter James Coleman and DJ, producer, and songwriter Diwon. Together, they produce their own unique brand of epic dreamlike pop. Their latest release, “Live For Now”, which premiered on Spinner, is the first single off the forthcoming Top of the World EP, set to be released in early 2013. The release included a remix by Dubstep duo, Neutron – made up of Hollywood producers, Laze & Royal responsible for some of the hottest songs by Tyga, The Game, Chris Brown, Ke$ha and more. With the release of their “Live For Now” song and music video, Bonhom defines the style of Dream-Pop. From the danceable beat to the dreamy vocals, it combines a classic pop sound infused with a modern 2013-style production.
Performing artist, Anna Rose began training classically in Opera at age 11. After graduating from the University of Michigan, where she studied Theater and Voice, she made her way out to Los Angeles and began developing a fan base performing and recording as a pop artist. She has opened for the Pointer Sisters, has been featured in FHM magazine on-line, and has been nominated for an HMMA for best pop song, “Hard Driving Me Crazy”. Anna will be premiering new tracks off her forthcoming EP and is currently filming a brand new video which will be released soon!
Hunnypot’s own, Das Tapes are an LA electro-pop duo consisting of brothers Kevin and Mark Ignatius who will bring their dark, sexy and feverish synth driven pop experience to The Central stage. They will be doing an exclusive interview from the Hot Tub, followed by a live performance that will surely erupt into a wild dance party, so be ready to move and shake that thang! For our 261st Hunnypot Radio show, we once again packed the house as usual with a jam packed line-up that included some exceptional DJ's and musicians alike. But before we get to our special guests Hot Tub Johnnie got us shakin' with his set featuring new favorites from THINE, Foals, Joey Bada$$, JDS and even classics by Don Gibson, Buddy Guy and the opening cut "Baby I Don't Care" by Buddy Holly plus many more.
Following Hot Tub Johnnie, we jumped right into our first special guest DJ of the night, none other than Danny Holloway (Blazing 45s). Danny laid out an absolute sizzling set of some classic vinyl 45s. Be sure to listen back to the complete interview and DJ set, which gives great insight to the incredibly successful 30+ year music career Danny Holloway has lead.
Kicking off our live portion was LA DJ/producer Fabian, who has seen great success since his 2009 Binary Records released single "Heatwave" took off like wild fire in the LA dance scene. Fabian set off a crushing high energy dance set that featured many hip hop, pop, electro dance hits.
Highlighting the night was the beautiful and talented Casey K. who set the tone perfectly for our live performers. Casey's sultry smooth voice soared over her electronic based R&B production as she brilliantly performed the standout songs off her newly released EP In Tine, which includes the current single/video "Maureen".
LA based singer-songwriter, Brittney Bouchard rounded out our female performers of the night with a charming stripped down set of soulful, country, pop tunes. Highlighting the performance was Brittney's intimate rendition of "Holding My Breath", the standout single off her new LP Addicted To Heartbreak.
Making the trek all the way from Uptown, CA was hip hop collective, Mike Mobb. These boys have been killing it on the internet with their exceptional party vibin' video's which includes the swag banger "Hit Yo Michael" their rendition of the "Hit Yo Ricky" beat that has been lighting a fire of late on YouTube. Mike Mobb did not disappoint as they blew the lid off the Central with their high energy party swag. Their set included explosive performances of "Hit Yo Micheal" and their latest banger "Her Friend".
The LA based sister DJ duo, Le Twist consisting of Briana & Dani Beauvoir lead us through the midnight hour and into the early morning hours with their blistering DJ set to close out the night. These ladies brought the heat, as they mixed and mashed many of today's top electro-pop, hip hop, house and dubstep dance bangers.

Uptown, CA based hip hop collective, MikeMobb will be joining us for a special live performance. The group consists of members, Radio Base, Lil Jeff, Skoot, Randy and Mula, all of whom will be in attendance. Known for their high energy shows, MikeMobb’s party vibes and free spirits make for an intense musical experience. We highly recommend checking out their smash hit dance remix video “Hit Yo Michael” (Hit Yo Ricky Remix) and their epic party banger “Her Friend” which are building heavy traction on the inter-webs.
LA based DJ/Producer, Fabian Ordorica will be joining us for a special guest live DJ set and brief interview from the Hot Tub. With a history of production work spanning from Hip-Hop, Electro, Pop, French Touch, to Filter House, Fabian’s eclectic taste comes across in his remixes, songwriting, & original songs. His work first caught the dance communities ear with his 2009 single “Heatwave”, taken from Binary Records compilation album LA Lights. Receiving remixes from Russ Chimes & Short Circuit, “Heatwave” was supported on BBC’s Radio 1 as well as by DJ’s around the world. In 2011 Fabian painstakingly crafted his debut album Say Goodbye, focusing his sound to encompass all of his influences, from Timbaland to Lifelike. An 8-song journey meant to take the listener far away from their current state of mind, Say Goodbye begins with the dynamic “Last Flight“. Don’t miss what is expected to be a crushing high energy dance set by Fabian!
Los Angeles based singer/songwriter, producer, and all around music lover, Casey K. will be joining us to perform new tracks off her debut EP entitled In Tine, which will be released worldwide on March 21st. Casey K.’s music catalogue continues to grow with music featured on ESPN, collaborations with international DJ’s, and even producing music for other artists ranging from Jazz to Rap. Her new EP showcases this musical versatility as a writer, singer, and co-producer alongside Multi Grammy Nominated producer/engineer Csaba Petocz. In this new video for Hong Kong Dong's single "Yoko Oh No!" we are taken on a bizarre cartoon journey, that leaves us wanting more. In terms of lyrics videos, this one is seriously entertaining. Hailing from Belgium, this brother/sister duo recently released their debut album Sweet Sensations in May of 2012. Built around hard-hitting electronic beats and joyously absurd lyrics it is sure to get you moving.

Our Hunnypot Radio show got off without a hitch at The Central: SAPC in Santa Monica last week. We had an eclectic collection of music showcased from our DJs and live acts alike! Serious thank you’s to everyone who made it out, and to everyone who was a part of making it happen, it was quite a night.
Getting us started, Hot Tub Johnnie lined up some stellar tracks that included music from Smoke & Jackal, Santigold, Kyle Rapps & Diwon, Nina Dioz, E-Train, Chloe Riley and many others. All of these are impressive and very current artists that are more than worth checking out.
Our first guest DJ in the Hot Tub was Jen Malone (Music Coordinator, Metalman Media & Supervisor at Black & White) who brought us a killer set dominated mostly by female indie artists like Icona Pop, Tegan & Sara, Niki and The Dove, MNDR and more. She respects the rock, and we respect her. Kudos on a well put-together set.
Our last guest DJ was Kii Arens (Creator, La-La Land) who brought an incredible set of tunes out for us. He started his set off with a new favorite, Tame Impala, followed by other new and stunning artists, such as, Metronomy, Beware of Darkness, Crush the Night, Melody’s Echo Chamber and Red Cross. Kii Monroe Arens was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Robert and LaVae Arens. He has two brothers and one sister. From an early age, Arens had an affinity for morning cartoons, notably Sid and Marty Krofft. The show, coupled with his interest in fonts, colors, spacing and layout, set in motion a growing fascination with art and design. His early passion for music was also strong, augmented by growing up in a musically inclined family. By the mid to late 1980s, Arens was DJ’ing around the Twin Cities, and had a brief stint in Rap music, under the alias ‘2 Percent’, opening for Gang Starr, EPMD, DJ Quik, amongst others.
Arens’ early immersion in the Twin Cities music scene exposed him to many elements of what would become important features of his graphic art, including: album art work, package layout, photography, poster design, creative direction, music video direction, merchandise design/creation and music production. Although Arens created artwork continuously growing up, his career as an artist was substantively set in motion with a design gig for the Woodstock ’94 festival. Originally brought on as a hotel coordinator, he was invited to attend meetings about the festival’s design direction, and raised concerns with what he saw as an overly nostalgic festival look (one that recalled too closely the Woodstock ’69 festival).
After returning to the Twin Cities, he started working for Niceman Merchandising. Arens’ album design/layout career continues to this day, and has featured many projects, including: Dolly Parton’s Backwoods Barbie and latest, Blue Smoke,Eagles of Death Metal’s Heart On, Ziggy Marley’s Wild and Free , Glen Campbell’s Ghost on the Canvas, Pete Yorn’s Back and Forth, and, most recently, LA musician/producer Jonathan Wilson’s Fanfare.
In 1994, Arens joined his brother, Brynn Arens (Obsession/Fun House/Oddfathers), in the rock band Flipp, active from 1994–2003. He assumed guitar and backup vocal duties. The band had a penchant for cartoonish stage presentations and costuming, and embraced the Glam-rock genre reminiscent of the early 1970s, even amidst its decline as a result of bands such as Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. Their Hollywood Records debut, Flipp (1997), saw them opening for bands such as Oasis, The Ramones and Cheap Trick. They released two follow-up albums, Blow it out your Ass (2000) and Volume (2002). Although Flipp has never officially disbanded, they have not performed live since 2003.
A visit to Los Angeles in 2003 prompted Arens’ move to his current location on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, California. As his work in album art and band merchandising continued, he began creating unique, non-music associated art pieces. His pieces soon appeared in many galleries around Los Angeles, notably: M Modern, Subliminal Projects, Gallery 1988, and his own gallery, La-La Land Gallery, which opened in 2004.
Arens has exhibited in many shows, notably: Happy War… It’s the bomb, the first official show at La-La Land, which featured the work of Arens and many local pop-artists, including: Shepard Fairey, Chris Reccardi, Gary Baseman, Niagara, and many others. Art in the Dark, another show, was an exhibition of Arens’ own pieces, images created using black light reactive paints and lighting rigs, which concealed hidden content that could be revealed upon the flip of a switch. In 2005, he traveled back to the Twin Cities, to exhibit a gallery show at Ox-Op gallery. The show was based around Spin-o-Paint/Paint-by-numbers/Oil paint. Later that year, lalalandgallery.com was created, an online venue for a series of customized lightboxes created by Arens. The lightboxes were also exhibited at La-La Land, and featured in a story by the Los Angeles Times. His “Hot Lunch Artshow” followed in Oct. 2005, and featured classic tin lunch boxes customized with local Pop art. By 2008, Arens found himself as curator of an art show based on the concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. It included pieces for artists such as Liza Minnelli, Grace Jones, and Femi Kuti. His first major concert poster was completed that year as well, for a Beck/Spoon/MGMT show at the Hollywood Bowl.
This has spurred a career in concert print creation that continues to present, with over 250 pieces created for artists such as Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age, Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, The Weeknd, Sonic Youth, The Who, Queens of the Stone Age, Devo, Diana Ross, Divine Fits, The Pixies, Tony Bennett,Glen Campbell, Bruno Mars, Tame Impala, The Beach Boys and many others. He also created posters for various All Tomorrow’s Parties events, as well as Goldenvoice’s Coachella. In 2010, Arens created a print for Radiohead’s Haiti benefit concert in Los Aangeles. Two editions of 250 prints were sold, and helped add to a grand total of $572,754 raised by the band during the event.
Arens’ co-direction of the music video, What We Do, for the band Devo (2011), began to broaden his creative endeavors. The video centers the viewer in a full 360-degree scene, allowing them to choose to participate in many different interactive visual aspects.
In November 2011, his second co-directed video, Ghost on the Canvas, was done for country musician Glen Campbell. It features Paul Westerberg of the Replacements, who also penned the track. Arens’ admiration for Campbell lead him to co-direct two more videos for the artist. A Better Place (2012), featuring Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age,and Hey Little One (2013), a tribute to Glen’s wife, Kimberly “Kim” Woollen, who helped Campbell in his battle with Alzheimer’s. Most recently, Arens co-directed the video for Vampyre of Time and Memory, a track from Queens of the Stone Age’s sixth album, …Like Clockwork (2013). The video featured three separate rooms that the viewer can navigate, creating a unique viewing experience.

Starting off our live portion of the show were LA natives New Beat Fund, who brought some serious energy to the stage. Their bright colors and loud electro-pop guitars gave the crowd no choice but to move their feet, and they certainly did. These dudes nailed it, bringing funk, electro-pop beats and true rock together in an overall stellar performance.
Up next we had the group, Vim Furor, grace our stage. Their passionate, powerful vocals from frontman, German Briseño, enveloped us entirely. While the hard, yet psychedelic guitar, and drums played tightly behind, all with major latin flair. If you missed this set, we’re terribly sorry you did, these guys definitely aren’t messing around. Following in the line-up was nerdcore, hip-hop/rap artist Dr. Awkward, gracing us with his presence all the way from San Diego. His set was energetic, fun, precise and innovative, really showcasing his lyrical talent.
Last, but again certainly not least, was nerdcore, electro, hip-hop/rap artist, Barbi Crash. This guy was full of energy and confidence as he entertained us with his swagger and his killer lyrics. Getting settled into our new home, The Central: SAPC in Santa Monica, we got our #246 Hunnypot Radio show started without a hitch on 9/10/12.
To get things started, Hot Tub Johnnie had an impressive set of jams lined up that included music from Lost Weekend, Yuna, Teenage Bottlerocket, Vinibanger x Saints, Stuey Rock, Binary and many others. All super fresh tracks that you can now stream on our website.
After Hot Tub’s set, we were given a sneak peek at Hunnypot favorites and LA alt-pop punk rockers The Dollyrots’ brand new self-titled record that is being released September 18th, 2012. We played singles including: Hyperactive, Twist Me To The Left, Satellite, I Wanna Go, Starting Over Again and South Of The Border. The album is a high energy, pop punk masterpiece, made possible completely through grassroots efforts and a killer Kickstarter campaign. Make sure to get your copy!
Our industry guest DJ of the night was Music Supervisor at Tennis Channel, Steve Collins. This was Steve’s first time as a guest DJ, and he slayed it. With songs from a few throwbacks like Argent and The Zombies (whom we learned were both managed by Steve’s dad back in the day), to some currently infectious groups like The Allah Las, The Sheepdogs, The Royalty, Martin Solveig, Crystal Fighters and more. I really wasn’t kidding when I interjected to the group outside that Steve Collins’ set was really stellar...and then realized he was standing in the very circle I was addressing. I suppose that’s about as sincere a compliment that you can give, right? I meant it.
Finally, to close out the radio segment of the show, DJ Boom Shack came in with a slammin' set featuring hot new tracks from MVSCLES, Frank + Derol, Styles of Beyond, Feral Kizzy, Wool and more. Kudos, Boom Shack.
Kicking off the live performance half of the show were Long Beach rockers Feral Kizzy. If you missed this performance, you seriously missed out. The energy this group gives is captivating, bold and dramatic. In all the best ways. Lead singer Candice has a presence comparative to Alison Mossheart. She puts on a show to remember and the band is tight, with songs that leave you wanting more. Find out where they are playing next and check them out. It’s an experience, not just a show.
The second set in our live performance line-up was Brad Standley and the Foxflies, with our very own Matt Linsky slaying it on lead guitar. They came out with some well-written, tightly arranged originals and dazzled us with a few covers. Each band member was extremely talented, and together they had some serious chemistry. Lead singer, Brad, puts a level of energy and passion into the presentation of his lyrics that draws you in. Check out what they’re doing, we were very impressed.
Finishing up our live segment of the show was a Hunnypot favorite, LA based hip hop, producer, emcee E-Train. He brought his A-game, with some killer new beats, and as always, an effortless flow. A few Hunnypot members made some cameo appearances from beatboxing, to a little flow from L-Boogie, and a freestyle song from our HP flyer designer, Lindsay Nourse. Wrapping things up, E-Train brought the house down with our favorite “What Tomorrow Brings” and then finished us off with a quick, high-energy flow that had the dance floor reeling. Keep your eyes on this one, he’s going far.

Our 246th Hunnypot Radio Sing-A-Long was "Turning Japanese" by The Vapors!
Hunnypot favorites and LA alt, pop punk rockers The Dollyrots will be joining us to celebrate the release of their 4th studio album. The self titled LP The Dollyrots, was a 100% DIY album and by far their strongest effort to date. The album mixes the swagger of fun loving pop punk and rock n' roll with edgy guitar riffs, upbeat rhythms, catchy pop melodies and a fiesty punk attitude. We're super excited about the album and hope you'll all join us in celebrating it's release!!
Long beach based indie rockers Feral Kizzy will be set to unleash their souled out rock swagger upon the Hunnypot airwaves. Spearheaded by the fiery Kizzy Kirk, the band has been tearing up clubs in Los Angeles, Orange County and the South Bay and soon The Central: SAPC in Santa Monica.
We will also have a special live performance by Hunnypot favorite and LA based hip hop, producer, emcee E-Train. E-Train has recently re-loaded his smash hit mixtape Wrath Of Roxane with a handful of new cuts and bangers which you can grab for FREE over at DatPiff! Summer is in full gear now and last weeks’ Hunnypot Radio Show was a scorcher! Hot Tub Johnnie lit it up with his latest set list which included new jams from Beware Of Darkness, Gwendolyn, Quintron, The Temper Trap, The Royalty and new party jams from the likes of Far East Movement, Ludacris, Gzus Piece and much more. It was the perfect set to kick things off for our all girl special guest night.
Our first guest was the wonderful Mollie Moore (A&R, Atlantic Records). Mollie came with a killer set of new and upcoming acts including Atlantic Records’ own Kitten where she featured their single “Cut It Out”. A few other buzzing acts she tipped us to were GRiZ, Mimosa, The Spell, LA’s breaking act Wildcat! Wildcat! and their new cut “The Chief”. Be sure to keep your eye out for Kitten and stay tuned to @Molliemogo for more new tastemaker trends.
Our musical guest was the sexy and talented Gina and The Eastern Block. Gina Katon a former Pussycat Doll from Hell, came on the show and blew everyone away. Gina and her dancers aka the “Mafia” did an absolute sizzling performance with dance moves that should be illegal in public, but we loved it! They performed the standout songs “So Hungry”, “This Is F**king Rock N’ Roll” and “Identity Thief”. Boom Shack’s DJ set featured a special guest performance by Jo LuQ’ of his latest single “LA Girls” (Remix feat. Aria Johnson & Dop Vigor) which is currently charting on CDBaby. Boom Shack also featured some new cuts by Audra Mae & The Almighty Sound, Wick-it the Instigator, Electric Guest, Angel Haze and more.

Including a special guest DJ set by Atlantic Records' rock/pop A&R Director, Mollie Moore. Before becoming one of the top tastemakers in the business today, Mollie began her music career in the A&R department at RCA Records, where she went on to running the day to day management for OneRepublic. She is currently an A&R Director in the rock/pop dept. at Atlantic Records and a licensing agent at the boutique Film/TV licensing company Lip Sync Music. Mollie also books shows and curates music oriented events in and around Los Angeles. She will be joining us in the Hot Tub for what is sure to be a swaggering hand picked DJ set of that hip new hotness.
And to round out our all girl line-up will be LA electro-pop-rock group Gina and The Eastern Block. Spearheaded by the beautiful and talented Gina Katon, a former Pussycat Doll from Hell, Michigan who has graced many a stage alongside luminaries like Usher, Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson, and Laura Bell Bundy. Gina was cast in the original Hollywood production of "Rock Of Ages" and has big screen appearances in Adam Sandler's "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" and alongside Anna Farris in "House Bunny". For the past 2 years Gina and The Eastern Block have been doing it big, consisting of Gina killing it on the mic/dance moves and Todd Weinstock (former guitar player of Glassjaw) providing colour and texture and producer/drummer Marc Jordan (The Cult, Velvet Revolver) laying down muti-continental grooves and beats. Be ready for a full out rock and roll performance - a maniacally cerebral live show with four very tantalizing and visually appealing female backup dancers (AKA the Gina And The Eastern Block "Mafia").

Last week marked the return of Hunnypot Radio to Beverly Hills at the pristine Metropolitan Creative Studios. The return featured a killer show with new handpicked selections from Hot Tub Johnnie and DJ Boom Shack. Hot Tub Johnnie displayed new fresh cuts from Real Estate, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Best Coast, HP artist Peachcake, Hard Ton and many more.
The return to Beverly Hills also lured in some special guest HP favorites like 16 Barz and Piney Gir. LA hip hop artist 16 Barz debuted his brand new single “Say Yeah” and did a high energy performance of another new track “Nitro”. London based rocker and longtime HP lover Piney Gir stopped by the show to premiere her new single “Outta Sight”. Our industry guest DJ was music supervisor, Michael Gross (TBWA/ChiatDay). AKA – DJ MG, Gross featured a jammin’ set of his favorite tastemaker cuts which included classic artists like Bob Dylan and Lenny Kravitz to new favorites like The Heartless Bastards, Chairlift, Rhye, Blood Orange, Flight Facilities and many more. Our musical guests of the evening were HP artist and LA based urban pop group hUH (Have U Heard). The group just released their self titled debut album and stopped by for a intimate live performance and to premiere some new cuts off the album. The boys opened with their stylish pop gem “Vampire Blood” leading into upbeat performances of their standout tracks “Anywhere U Go” and the smoothly laced “Thalia”.

He has worked on projects and produced events with the like's of Adele, Skrillex, Foo Fighters, Fitz and the Tantrums, Dengue Fever and many more buzzing and established artists. Last weeks’ Hunnypot Radio show exploded into the Valley as we had a backyard party at Julianna Young’s fabulous new pad in Sherman Oaks.
Hot Tub Johnnie lit the backyard up with a killer set of new tunes including a haunting cover of the Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated” by Superhumanoids, and also new tracks by Sleeper Agent, Alpine, Santigold, Crystal Fighters, Treated Crew, Gina and The Eastern Block and much more.
Our musical guest Baron Von Luxxury played an exceptional live electro dance set. Hot Tub Johnnie wasted no time getting into his new favorites for the 235th Hunnypot Radio show. Johnnie opened the airwaves up with the dark driving new track by Magic Wands “Space” which set the tone early for another classic Hot Tub DJ set. Hot Tub featured other new cuts by Tanlines, Cuckoo Chaos, Vassy, Gorillaz (feat. Andre 3000 & James Murphy) and many more including Lil B!
Industry tastemaker Chris Restivo (Music supervisor, Herzog & Company) made his first guest DJ appearance on the radio show. Chris is an avid music lover who put together a special handpicked selection of his favorite tunes which included the latest and greatest by Kwes “Bashful”, Team Me, Oberhoffer, Mac Miller, POLICA and more. So if your planning on seeing any big Summer blockbuster films and love the music you hear in the trailers and previews, then Chris just might have been the reason why.
Our musical guest of the night was none other than upcoming LA hip hop artist DoZay. This fast rising talent is quickly building a heavy buzz with his videos and singles like “Classmate”. DoZay premiered another one of his forthcoming singles’ “Close” and displayed a killer high energy performance for his bangers “Goin’ In” and “Make It Clap”.
