CL 2022

COREY "CL" LLEWELLYN (DIGIWAXX MEDIA)

Co-founder of Fader Magazine; co-founder of the 1200 Squad; nominated for MPS Mixshow Power Summit (MPS) Mixshow Promoter of The Year; nominated for MPS Executive Of The Year; developed, co-managed, and executive produced recording artist MIMS. Co-founder Digiwaxx Media.

Digiwaxx Media was established and founded in 1998 by Cory "CL" Llewellyn and Andrew Edgar in Greensburgh, NY.

The company was created with the fundamental philosophy: to give all artists more power and revenue. Through the WAXX system artists were able to have access to thousands of DJ’s at their “finger tips”. This system was beneficial because it leveled the playing field for major and independent artist and it allowed any artist to get DJ’s to promote their music to both create and enhance their fan base. This then would assist them in selling their music through DIGITAL means directly to new and established fans. The concepts synchronized and DIGIWAXX was born.

Digiwaxx began with the vision of being a Digital Distribution platform that would allow artist to eliminate the “middle men” and allow them to promote their content directly to DJ’s and sell their content directly to fans alike.

Today Digiwaxx the perfect combination of a modern Music & Artist Promotion Service, Creative Marketing Agency and Digital Music Platform that sits at the nexus of cutting edge music, people, technology and culture.

The company currently works with major labels Warner, Universal, and Sony Music Groups, along with a long list of established independent record labels. In addition Digiwaxx serves as an agency for various corporations including Adidas, Nike, Puma, Beats Audio, Monster Products, Samsung, Blackberry, HD Radio, Chevrolet, Levis, and others.

Sham Blak

SHAM BLAK

Sham Blak is street wisdom and love expressed through modern boom bap. Sham Blak is hitting his stride and is most definitely in his bag; like Mary Poppins, there’s something for everyone in said bag - the “old heads” will love the purity and connection to hip hop’s roots, those who enjoy trap music will connect with Sham Blak’s ability to uniquely tell tales of redeemed hood life, and the vibe-centric turn-up kids will connect with his infectious energy. Sham Blak is a bridge - he is able to stay rooted in the community that created and shaped him (Southeast San Diego) while branching out to connect with people across the spectrum of life circumstance and experience. Sham Blak’s “lit and intentional” vibe ensures that listeners will turn up while simultaneously being challenged to think, whether his effervescence is being communicated through headphones, the system in your whip, or from any number of stages he’s performed on. Opening for artist like G Perico, Neff the Pharos, AFRO, Big Twin and Psycholess of the Beatnuts, Slum Village and Kool Keith

The music is the vehicle, but Sham Blak’s vision can’t be contained in one medium; his Waves in the Tide imprint seeks to take the energy and acclaim garnered through his music as a means to introduce and offer “at risk” youth a relationship to the vast mysteries of the ocean and to marine life in hopes of teaching young people how to heal themselves through a connection with nature. The ocean provides a meditative context in which young people from otherwise restless backgrounds are able to be still and reflect - two important ingredients to heal trauma. Sham Blak’s entrepreneurial spirit and community focus places him in the conversation with artists like Nipsey Hussle, Westside Boogie, Young Dolph and more. With the intelligence developed through surviving and thriving in South East San Diego and the discipline earned from his time in the Army, Sham Blak’s progress is both grounded and accelerated - join the movement, you don’t want to miss it!

Sham Blak is an artist first, and his mastery of the craft of emceeing is evident in his content, cadences, and delivery. Sham Blak’s music will move you and his stage presence will make you a life-long fan, whether your taste focuses on bars, production, vibe or message. Sham Blak has an industry-ready sound and style with the hustle and heart of independent hip hop; tune-in, it’s about to get SPOOKY!

KARIMA JAY

I went from memorizing all the songs on every karaoke game on the playstation 2 when I was little, to releasing multiple singles and an EP series H.I.M Vol. 1. I write my own lyrics to every single song I release, sometimes being in my zone and writing a song in less than 30 minutes.

I love doing different genres and love working with artists who have a passion for the art of music like myself. I am a mother of 2 wild ones and a business student. To get the full scope of who Karima Jay is I highly encourage everyone to listen to my lyrics. I get really personal and expose a lot about myself through my songs.

ATTIQUE IQBAL

(NFL MEDIA | NFL NETWORK MUSIC COORDINATOR, CO-HOST/DJ SET)

Attique Iqbal grew up in California’s Central Valley (Fresno/Reedley) and has had an equal passion for sports and music as far back as he can remember. He got his first taste of the sports broadcast and entertainment realm in 2002 as a runner for CBS Sports and FOX Sports. This is a passion which he's maintained to this day, as Attique continues to work for CBS and FOX regularly as a game day statistician and in production support.

In 2006, Attique began what would evolve into a long career with NFL Media. He got his toes wet first as a production assistant, then took on roles as a graphics coordinator and highlight producer, also working on features, season previews, and show opens. In 2012, NFL Network created the 'Music Coordinator' role and Los Angeles music department for Attique to take on and further develop. In this post, Attique has overseen music reporting for nearly all NFL Media Platforms, curating and selecting music for various NFL Media shows and content and developing strong, long-lasting relationships with labels, artists and publishers.

Recently, Attique has also emerged on the scene as a songwriter. He released his first Songwriter/Artist Project titled 'The Attique Iqbal Project' on November 1, 2021, with the single "North Star", which was followed by the release of "Next Life" on January 9, 2022 and his most recently release “One Night” came out on April 11, 2022.

Lisa Danae2022

LISA DANAË

Hailing from California, Filipino-American artist Lisa Danaë has long been a powerhouse vocalist in the music industry. Lisa’s journey began as a young girl when she found solace in pop industry powerhouses Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. As she grew as an artist, Lisa’s goal became to spread her story of growth and empowerment through the same powerful pop hooks and unfeigned, timeless lyrics that she grew up listening to. Her ability to pay tribute to the late 90’s/Y2K pop movement while still honoring her musical tenor in R&B birthed her transition and curation of “dark pop” where she takes deep sound to balance and challenge the uplifting lyricism and vocal tenor to create and addictive genre blend.

Between 2020 and 2021, Danaë had her most productive years of releasing music yet. With songs like “STARLET”, “Weigh Me Down”, “Press Reset” ft with producer Alex Bochel, “STARLET Audiocrisp Remix”, and “Focus On Me”, she began to truly embark on the journey of embodying and perfecting her songwriting capabilities. As Lisa released her music throughout the pandemic, she garnered the attention of publications such as Voyage LA, Shoutout LA, Rolling Stone India and more.

But perhaps her biggest achievement of 2021 was her single “Weigh Me Down” being nominated for Song Of The Year at the Wavy Awards, an award show focused on honoring minority talent within music. Lisa’s goal of creating a space for young minorities in music who relate to her story has been central to the progression of her career, and being honored by her peers in the space gave her a new outlook and many more opportunities for the future to continue the incredible storytelling she has been able to curate for her music.

L-BOOGIE BIRTHDAY BASH

Long time Hot Tubber Larken Phillips aka L-Boogie will celebrate his birthday with a special Live performance.

Ancient Sumerian texts tell of a man with boogie so pimpaliciously slick, that the world could not withstand the weight of his almighty funkification. He was born in a maelstrom of smoke and fire, schooled by the legends of Shaolin, and set upon this world to seek that mighty groove, tweak it till it’s smooth, straight up freak and bust a move.

This legend of boogie was deemed too powerful by the elder gods of groove, and so it was decided to seal his spirit away. For thousands of years the spirit of this titan of twerk lay dormant only to be awoken for a single night each year, for if his boogie lasted any longer the cosmos could be torn apart by his vociferous vibrations.

Lo and behold: the great L-Boogie hath arisen from his slumber! Payeth him tribute with dope-ass dance moves & belligerent bong rips, lest ye soul be cast into darkness until he riseth once more.

BATFARM 2022

BATFARM

Comprised of Alexx Calise, an introspective lyricist and “harmony machine”, and Morehouse, a masterful arranger and sound manipulator, Batfarm is a two-piece alternative rock band whose sound can be best described as “darkedelic”. The multi-instrumentalists keep it small not only for efficiency’s sake, but also to keep creating the music they want without added personalities. Combining Alexx’s grunge and blues influences with rich, choral soundscapes and Dennis’s love of industrial, funk, and psychedelic music, Batfarm creates a sound that is like everything and nothing at once.

While the music itself is serious, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it is their hope that the darkness of some of their own personal experiences will help others to find their own light.

SPECIAL/SEXY/SLEAZY

We are special/sexy/sleazy, we live in Los Angeles, and we make loud, aggressive, feedback-drenched indie rock. Influenced by the heartfelt shrieks and squeals of bands like Modest Mouse and Pavement, the energetic guitar-powered pop of bands like Everclear and Third Eye Blind, the dense compositions and non-stop energy of bands like Bomb the Music Industry and Prince Daddy, and the guitar wizardry and showmanship of classic rock and hair metal, special/sexy/sleazy blend joy with sadness, introspection with exuberance, and invite you to have as much fun as you can stomach.

Led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Jake Medeiros, special/sexy/sleazy also includes Brie Goldsobel (vocals/keys), Brandon Ferguson (guitar/keys), Summer Wetmore (bass), Katie Wong (keys), and Joey D’Alfonso (drums). We just finished our debut self-titled record, special/sexy/sleazy. The record was produced by Ryan Pollie (Los Angeles Police Department, Ryan Pollie, Teddy Grossman), mixed by Chris Baglivo (Spirit of the Beehive, Mannequin Pussy, Hop Along), and mastered by Mark Chalecki (Tokyo Police Club, Islands, Joyce Manor). Nadia Vaeh Photo

Nadia Vaeh

Atlanta native and IMA “Vox Pop” winner, Nadia Vaeh, found her way into artistry through modeling and an unexpected stint with a local Atlanta circus. She started singing in their productions, but began writing her own poetry and music at a young age. Her mother was a poet who passed on her love of words, which later fueled Nadia’s talent as a lyricist. Nadia’s life took an unexpected turn at the age of 17 when she lost her mother to suicide. After this tragic loss, she strayed from songwriting and singing for years and went down a path of self-destruction to ignore her pain. When she decided to begin again with artistry, she struggled deeply to deal with her heartbreak. “I made a lot of missteps when I first began my career; had to learn a lot of things the hard way and spent time reflecting to get to a place where I could create hope from the pain that life can bring via my music.”

With her endless resilience, Nadia has grown into a deeply connected and engaging performer. Her music has been played on U.S. and international radio and has been praised by Wonderland Magazine, Pop Wrapped, Music Connection Magazine, Dark Beauty Magazine, AudioFemme, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and more.

Vaeh loves to pull inspiration for her music through many genres and sounds from all over the world and has been heavily influenced by island sounds from her time spent in the Netherland Antilles island, Curaçao. She also draws from the roots of her father's homeland of Lebanon and has an affinity for middle eastern music. The conscious-pop singer also makes it a point to give back whenever she can. Through her music, she has donated proceeds to a number of nonprofits including the Human Rights Campaign, The Trevor Project, among many others.

Having written in several genres, Nadia’s fascination lies with pop because as she puts it, “I love the vast playground that is pop music and how it can transcend and connect people through all cultures. It’s a powerful healer. So many pop songs have helped me feel seen and understood!”

Nadia Vaeh is managed by Kristin Engineer of MotoGirl Music and will be sharing some of her classics as well as a sneak peek from her upcoming debut album, “My Face Hurts” which drops in July 2022.

LITVAR

LITVAR

Litvar is Rex Thurstan and Joe Lemieux. The name is inspired by the Kensuke Ushio song lit(var) which to the duo represents a combination of light and variation. Taking musical influence from Brian Eno, Snow Patrol, Vampire Weekend, as well as modern electronic acts such as John Hopkins and Porter Robinson, the duo's sharp youthful sound, highlighted by Thurstan’s heart wrenching vocals and Lemieux’s energetic drumming has ignited a rapidly growing, passionate fanbase.

"It reminds the listener of that time in their youth when they thought anything was possible. It’s so honest and out there that you gotta admire these kids for what they’re doing." – Vents Magazine

“And I am not kidding when I say Litvar are the perfect garage band of our generation.” – Weekly Music Express

"Everyone’s been here at some point, trying to make sense of things, trying to figure out who they are and how they fit into this world. And that’s what’s so appealing about “Hi, I’m Andy”. We’ve all been Andy at some point." – Spinnit Radio

SeanTheStarEmperior2021

SEAN THE STAR EMPEROR

Sean the Star Emperor’s origins can be traced to a floating space archipelago within the Antediluvian capital orbital body of the Star Empire and is hidden from Earth's view. It is also called Sirius Prime – a secret star chain between Sirius A and Sirius B. He currently resides in the Tristix Province. Sean is able to harness the dust of the cosmos and disperses sonic blasts with an array of light and color. He is slightly clairvoyant and possesses the Prism Scepter that was blessed by Vesuvia. This scepter can only be used properly by a descendant of the De La Torre D'Ivoire bloodline, thus he is royal. It gives him the ability to transform into Emperor form and grants him imperial armor and telekinesis. Imperial armor is unrivaled in its strength and has limited levitation ability.

If you’ve been roaming the dancehall desert searching for the next wave of underground sonic planeteers, look no further than Sean the Star Emperor. Sean the Star brings his voguing, Minogueing bounce in his new single, sending Earth a message of contentment in “Paradise”. Best enjoyed under bright beams, “Paradise” is a light and hip-poppy earworm perfect for a kiki, a party, a drive and pretty much any situation that could stand for an extra dose of sunshine.
