Upon graduating college in 2009, Alexi went to work at an insurance company. But when he was spending most of his days at his cubicle writing lyrics for what would end up becoming the company song, he knew he was in the wrong place. And he realized that if he could write a love song about an insurance company, he could write about anything.
Called "blue-eyed soul for the 21st century," Alexi is originally from the Boston area but called Philadelphia home for the last seven years, until moving to L.A. in January. He has performed at SXSW 2017, been featured in numerous media outlets like the New York Times, ThisisRnB.com, and soultracks.com, and, after running a successful $12,000 Kickstarter, he and his band executed an innovative, ten city “East Coast Diner Tour,” putting on full, live concerts in mom-and-pop diners from Boston to Atlanta. For his latest project, “Love Odyssey,” Alexi draws upon his father’s Greek heritage by transporting listeners to a world of endless, old school romanticism, with its groove-heavy R&B musical stylings and lyrics that reflect the joy of being in love. With musical comparisons to Robin Thicke and Michael Jackson and album features from hip-hop legend Jadakiss, Grammy Award winner Chrisette Michele, and additional appearances by Amina Buddafly, T3 (Slum Village), and Natalie Stewart (Floetry), Alexi is poised to demonstrate that traditional, heartfelt love songs are not dead.

Los Angeles’ group Electric Lecture are the combined creative forces of Greg Ansin, Bronson Taalbi and Anthony J. Resta The story of Electric Lecture started in 1991, in Massachusetts. Before Bronson was even born., the third member of the group, produced a record called “Secede” for a band called Sleight of Hand. Greg played guitar in that group. They have been friends and making music since that time. Fast forward to 2019, at a Los Angeles club where Ansin asked Bronson ““if he had rehearsal space?” Bronson said, “No.” So the journey began in what would become Electric Lecture and their debut album due out this fall. Compelled by impossible forces, guided by convictions of indifference, the three musicians are about to give a lecture... and it's going to be....... ELECTRIC.
This single “What If,” off the forthcoming self-titled album, out this fall, started from a guitar riff Anthony played one night and recorded on his phone and is a tongue-in-cheek look at conspiracy theories and the terror of “What if....” it all actually worked out. “We try to not take ourselves too seriously,” Greg explains about the songwriting process. “But it's hard not to sometimes. We just want to speak up. So we try to keep the words light with an underlying message.”
The music is a mix of XTC, Tom Petty, and Beck. Each member of the group plays multiple instruments. Bronson handles the lead vocals while Anthony and Greg lend in the background. Recorded at their practice space in Lawndale and Laurel Canyon where there is always music in the air.
The diverse backgrounds of the three musicians are the key ingredient in what gives Electric Lecture its unique flavor. Resta is a multi-instrumental musician having earned twelve RIAA certified gold and multi-platinum awards for bands such as Duran Duran, Collective Soul, and Shawn Mullins. Ansin is a prolific songwriter and film producer, having produced numerous documentaries and horror films including Drive-In Horrorshow and Infinite Santa 8000. Bronson is a multi-instrumentalist and master guitarist. He along with his brother, Preston, are the “Taalbi Brother.” Their energetic music has been featured in shows such as Dancing with the Stars, has been the musical narration in of the most iconic scenes in Breaking Bad.
“ I grew up listening to the Beatles, Tom Petty, the Beach Boys, especially Pet Sounds,” says Resta. I love adventurous sonic innovators like Beck and Bjork. I feel like Electric Lecture is a wonderful vehicle for me to express myself in the purest musical way I can. It's all a dream really.”

Sean the Star Emperor’s origins can be traced to a floating space archipelago within the Antediluvian capital orbital body of the Star Empire and is hidden from Earth's view. It is also called Sirius Prime – a secret star chain between Sirius A and Sirius B. He currently resides in the Tristix Province. Sean is able to harness the dust of the cosmos and disperses sonic blasts with an array of light and color. He is slightly clairvoyant and possesses the Prism Scepter that was blessed by Vesuvia. This scepter can only be used properly by a descendant of the De La Torre D'Ivoire bloodline, thus he is royal. It gives him the ability to transform into Emperor form and grants him imperial armor and telekinesis. Imperial armor is unrivaled in its strength and has limited levitation ability.
If you’ve been roaming the dancehall desert searching for the next wave of underground sonic planeteers, look no further than Sean the Star Emperor. Sean the Star brings his voguing, Minogueing bounce in his new single, sending Earth a message of contentment in “Paradise”. Best enjoyed under bright beams, “Paradise” is a light and hip-poppy earworm perfect for a kiki, a party, a drive and pretty much any situation that could stand for an extra dose of sunshine.

Our industry guest host, Robert Messinger, had to reschedule for a later date.
Hot Tub Johnnie stepped up with party tunes to step up and down to.
St. Bodhi (from Hunnypot intern to superstar) sang, rapped and rocked therapy wrapped in hooks.
Mad Circuit also has the "mad notes from god herself". LG Team Genius and Sereda partied, popped, and locked us in with music and moves.
Hot Tub kept the after party lively with the big beats. 8/9/2021
Saint Bodhi’s music is eclectic and bold because it had to be. The Los Angeles singer and songwriter dives deliriously between expansive sounds and styles?—aquatic R&B, dreamy rap, and avant funk, among other genres?—as a way of conveying the complexity of her history and emotions. She looks to both past and present with unflinching honesty on her acclaimed 2020 debut Mad World, which digs through the traumatic memories of a tough childhood and toasts the hard-won success of her recent years. On 2021’s vibrant Antisocial, she continues to enjoy the blessings of her rise, preserving a peace that took decades to attain by both turning up and looking inward, making kaleidoscopic songs that feel deeply meditative and quietly anthemic.
After growing up in South Central L.A., Bodhi parlayed her early love for an eclectic mix of powerful songwriters—Nina Simone, Nirvana, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, Eminem, Stevie Wonder—into a burgeoning songwriting career. Her talent and tenacity carried her into writing rooms with the likes of Cortez Bryant and Teddy Riley. Her hustle paid off when she landed a publishing deal, and quickly became an in-demand writer, collaborating with top-tier artists like A$AP Rocky, Jaden Smith, and Kevin Gates. She even earned a 2021 Grammy nomination for her work on Lecrae's "Sunday Morning" duet with Kirk Franklin. But when she started recording colorful demos of her own, it became clear that her artistry went beyond serving others’ visions.
Since signing with Def Jam, Bodhi’s moved from behind-the-scenes to fully fledged star. Mad World was bolstered by poignant single “FlowerChild,” which displayed Bodhi’s soulful vocals and offered glimpses of her upbringing: “Feet hit the pavement, sirens are blarin' / Crackheads'll get ya what ya need, how much you payin'?” The song received praise from Revolt, Teen Vogue, and FADER, which highlighted its “cutting lyricism.” You could also hear sharp writing on tracks like “Pray,” where Bodhi delivered stern warnings to anyone who might “test her love.”

Warsaw Pact fought against musical mediocrity overreach with an Iron Block of newish wavy rock.
Binx returned with her "Bumble Pop" music and sights and was joined by Mada Atoms's particle accelerating raps and riffs. 7/26/2021
Fred Jasper is the Head of Licensing for Yep Roc Records, Sundazed Music and Riff City Sounds Publishing. He has been based in Los Angeles since moving here from North Carolina in 1999 to become the west coast liaison for Sugar Hill Records (the legendary Americana/Bluegrass/Folk/etc. record label, not the legendary Hip Hop label) after Sugar Hill was sold to the Welk Music Group (Vanguard Records, Ranwood Records).
After stints in publicity + sales & marketing for Sugar Hill, Fred switched to music licensing in 2005 for all of the Welk Music Group labels, eventually becoming VP of TV/Film Licensing until Vanguard + Sugar Hill were sold to Concord Music in 2015. At Concord, Fred continued to specialize in licensing music from the Sugar Hill and Vanguard catalogs and also began producing compilations for Concord’s reissue arm, Craft Recordings.
In March of 2019, Fred began working at Yep Roc Records, a record label he has been a fan of since he brought in their very first releases on consignment while managing the Record Exchange in Raleigh, NC in the mid-to-late 90s. Fred has only ever worked at a record store or a record label since graduating from college in the early ‘90s, and finds it hard to imagine earning a living doing anything else other than working in, with or around music.
Starting life as the solo project of Ivan Delint in 2018, with the goal of fusing dance-punk and dark wave into it’s own unique brew, Warsaw Pact released “Extended Play I” to favorable reviews and opened for such classic act Pink Turns Blue, playing to a max capacity crowd at Echo Park's Part Time Punks.
