As a classically-trained pianist and accomplished musician, Lydia René’s sound is best described as “indie, vibrant soul”. With influences ranging from Jill Scott and Phyllis Hyman to James Taylor and Carole King, Lydia’s blended sound will take audiences to a higher musical plateau.
Lydia has shared the stage with many award-winning artists such as Eric Roberson, Jean Baylor, Jaguar Wright, and Wayna. She has also had the opportunity to work with acclaimed producers and musicians including Tejumold & Johari Newton (Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Jazmine Sullivan), Rick Carlos (Jennifer Lopez, Nelly), Harry Wilson (John Legend, Kindred The Family Soul), Damon “Mr. Dizzy Fingers” Bennett (Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake), and Stan Davis (Kindred The Family Soul, Kelly Rowland, Teena Marie).
Born and raised in Mount Holly, New Jersey, Lydia gained her musical experience by performing at music venues all over nearby Philadelphia. Lydia now resides in Los Angeles, CA where she recently finished her debut studio album "Vintage Heart". Lydia teamed up with GRAMMY Award-nominated producer Jameel Roberts (Usher, J. Cole, Nicki MInaj) as well as producer / musician Harry Wilson (John Legend, Kindred The Family Soul) & Rick Carlos (Nello, J-Lo) to create a sound all her own. She's the proud winner of the 2014 LAMN JAM competition (previously won by Aloe Blacc). Lydia also performed at the 2014 Taste Of Soul Family Festival (which draws a crowd of over 250,000) along with other performers such as Tyrese, Syleena Johnson, Tank, and Raheem Devaughn. In 2015 Lydia had the opportunity to sing a soul stirring rendition of "I Put A Spell On You" for the movie trailer campaign for the box office hit "The Perfect Guy". She also lent her voice to hit show EMPIRE on FOX by singing "Wade In The Water" with a stellar vocal ensemble for a commercial promo. Currently she is the featured vocalist in CHOBANI Yogurt's National Commercial Campaign singing "What The World Needs Now Is Love Sweet Love".
While Lydia René continues to build upon her ever-growing fan base, she hopes to one day reach the level of music’s greatest singer/songwriters and musicians. Her studio album "Vintage Heart" has already received great acclaim from music publications including SoulTrain, Philadelphia Weekly and SoulBounce. The album is now available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play, and Bandcamp.

Dead Poet Society is a four piece band out of Boston, Massachusetts playing fretless instruments that create an uncanny wobble effect, and atypical distortion that sounds more like a vintage synth on steroids than an actual guitar. Their sound is both genre defying and defining. The band features singer Jack Underkofler, guitarist Jack Collins, bassist Nick Taylor, and drummer Will Goodroad.
The group attracted early fan attention with the release of their debut single Sound and Silence in 2014, and saw them gain a growing fanbase with the release of their AXIOM and DEMPSEY EPs that followed.
In 2016 their music was discovered by the influential Mexican blog PepeProblemas. Their review caught the attention of another up and coming rock band Sputnik, who invited DPS to open for them on their national tour of Mexico. The opportunity has lead to more tours south of the border and a rapidly growing fan base that will see the band return to Mexico in 2019.
September 2018 saw the release of single and video “American Blood,” the first time the band has worked with an outside producer and mixer, Englishman Alex Newport. The collaboration was so successful that Alex was asked to produce a further five songs that will be part of the band’s debut album set for release in the Spring of 2019. The album will also include two songs produced by Boonn (Grandson) and three more self-produced songs.
2019 will be the most exciting year yet in the band’s career, starting in February with a 22 date national tour as special guest of Andres, followed by the album release and tours of Mexico, Europe and the Midwest.

Los Angeles natives Dugan Cruz and Sam Sobo originally met in their late teens on what they call “an online dating site for musicians”. After forming Madus in 2013, Cruz and Sobo went through several lineup changes before deciding it best to stay a duo until the right members come along.
Juxtaposing blissful west coast indie against angsty alternative rock, their songs are reminiscent of the early 2000s garage rock revival groups like Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes. In the Spring of 2017 they started a regimen of writing, recording, and releasing one song a month. Since beginning this songwriting regimen they decided to self produce and record all their music out of Cruz’s garage. “After years of accommodating the time constraints and heavy cost of producers, we wanted to be able to focus on the music and not worry about all of that" said Sobo. With the goal being to “...just put music out there and see what sticks”, the duo have kept each release as organic as possible. No expensive PR, no sponsored social media ads, and no chasing of highly coveted “likes”. After releasing a few singles this way, Madus eventually struck a chord with their song “Find Another Girl” achieving over 40,000 cumulative streams. The song has just been made available on Spotify and all other major music platforms with “Play Pretend” as a B-side. Madus is continuing to record frequently and further hone in on their sound.
More shows and music releases currently brewing.

You've heard the Buzz, Hunnypot will Feed you the absolute truth when it comes to fantastic entertainment. We collude with the best industry players and music makers and we'd testify without any embellishment, to any body of government. Show #408 ignited with a Hot Tub DJ set filled with bangers and mashups. Shelita Burke sat down to talk about her humanitarian platinum hit songs and got on stage to help us get in touch with ourselves or to penetrate others. Grand Canyon returned like an echo to Hunnypot for a really rockin, rootsy set of American music Blame Candy also got down in the hot tub and were as sweet as can be. They hit the stage afterwards to perform a guitartastic, bombastic, glitter and heels rock n' roll revue. Binx made an African Bee-Line back to Hunnypot for another amazing bug eyed pop and dance extravaganza. Jude Rose performed a tender explosion of sweet melodies and subdued tones and the night finished with a world famous Hunnypot Dance Party. 01/21/2019
Shelita Burke is a Pop-Electronic artist and writer based in Los Angeles and Paris, France. She is known for her engaging, collaborative, and spontaneous live performance style. Originally from Seattle, Shelita independently toured the world with over 150 shows across Europe, Asia, and Africa as well as a myriad of performances throughout the U.S. Her ability to connect with audiences and engage her expansive network of over 175,000 twitter superfans has resulted in a devoted global audience and prompting media interest from NPR, The Village Voice, Billboard, MTV, and many music industry taste makers.
Her latest songs are a departure from her earlier acoustic releases and transports the rising star into the pop world as a result of her collaboration with hit producer Marcus “Bellringer” Bell. The response has been infectious, with the most resent single “Penetrate” rising to #14 on Billboard’s Next Big Sound, a viral response amongst streaming services, and social media impressions reaching over 40 million people. Added attention was generated from her first single “Belong” which achieved over 2.7 million Spotify plays. Her forthcoming EP is planned for release later this year.

In an era of computer-made, beat-driven music, Grand Canyon is the antithesis of modern pop music. However, focusing on classic sounds and arrangements and drawing on the inspiration of 70s musicianship and timeless songwriting, it is the kind of music that will be wafting through the canyons for a long time.
The Los Angeles based rock and roll band, fronted by Casey Shea (guitar/vocals) and Amy Wilcox (vocals), and driven by Joe Guese (guitar), Darice Bailey (keys, vocals), Jon Cornell (bass), and Fitz Harris (drums) has self-recorded a debut album that is out now on Bodan Kuma Recordings.

Shield your eyes, mortals - Blame Candy has landed. The extraterrestrial, FUTUREGLAMROCK quartet has descended upon Planet Earth with a guitar-heavy rock and roll mythos guaranteed to twist human nature on its head and thrust it into the outskirts of the stratosphere. Whether they’re dazzling concert-goers with lightning-speed instrumental virtuosity, gyrating in flawless synchronicity, or subverting social norms with gender-bending sartorial irreverence, Blame Candy leaves a glittery trail of destruction wherever they roam.
The band’s bedrock is built upon its dynamic and flamboyant live performance, which ringmaster Chris Greatti describes as a “reckless and animalistic release of primal energy. Dressed to impress!” The rambunctious opener “Sweet Tooth” muses on addiction to “rock and roll symphonies” amidst winding, neoclassical guitar flurries, while the choreographed “Pathetic” dutifully illustrates the bands knack for earworm melodies and penchant for onstage theatrics. Citing classic influences like Van Halen, Queen and Prince, as well as modern kinfolk Radiohead and Tame Impala, Blame Candy’s entity is undoubtedly eccentric and eclectic, and its live show is a must-see hard rock phenomenon unlike any before. In Greatti’s words, “Blame Candy’s music is music for the 2020’s and beyond. The future of rock and roll is staring you in the face in matching red vestments. Take my hand and join us.”

Jude Rose is a singer and music producer based out of Chicago. His music is a unique brand of R&B that pulls you in and lingers in your consciousness even moments after its end. The 27-year old multi-instrumentalist produced a record layered with dark, moody sounds, pulsating synth, heartfelt melodies, and lyrics about personal experiences. In that regard, his artistry is comparable to recording artists such as Joji and Blackbear. With a sensual essence and captivating stage presence, Jude Rose has already begun to garner the attention of major record labels.
The emotional scars of the young songwriter’s past have provided a vivid backdrop for his sentimental subject matter and his introspective lyrical content. That notion is the very foundation that Rose used to create his upcoming single, Lose . “ Someone that I love had depression and anxiety. It got really bad to the point where she had thoughts of hurting herself or committing suicide. I was anxious and I didn’t know how to process it, ” said Jude Rose. “So (Lose) was just me being able to process it. The song is my promise to her. I will lose my mind and my touch before I ever lose her.”

New Year, who's with? Oh, the things we've seen in 2019. Our first Hunnypot Live of the year, #407, dropped serious balls. Hot Tub launched a no-baloney DJ set tp start everyone off. Emmy nominated music supervisor Jen Malone returned to the tub to fill us in on what she's been up to in film and TV and "Ghost'd" us with an award winner of a DJ set. Jesse Palter Old Lang Sang her heart out for us with pop and soul panache. Baby Fuzz put rock, pop and pomp hairs on our chests and bandleader/songwriter Sterling Fox got a few minutes of soak time to bring us up to speed on the band. The Songery was the Baby Nuke Year and irradiated us with song and dance. Rae Khalil "repped, spit and chilled" with mindful music and Hot Tub Johnnie closed the first night of many this year with another historic dance party set. 01/07/2019
Jen Malone is an Emmy Nominated Music Supervisor based in West Hollywood.
Credits include: Creed II, Atlanta, Baskets, Step Up: High Water, The Resident, Are You The One?, Lady Dynamite, Shelter, Noisey, Vice Guide To Everything, Video Game High School and many more.
Jen Malone started her career in the music industry as a publicist at Formula PR, working for Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy and many more. While living in Boston she formed the boutique publicity agency, Black & White and represented several artists and labels including The Hellacopters, The Hives, Backyard Babies, The Wildhearts, Gearhead Records and Hydrahead Records to name a few.

By the time she officially signed to Artistry Music and began honing the setlist for the release of her debut EP The Paper Trail, Jesse Palter had written an astounding number of songs. Every time she sidles up to the piano to pen a new one, the Detroit born and bred, Los Angeles based singer/songwriter commits herself to the discipline of perfecting her craft. Strengthening her creative muscles and figuring out what melodies, lyrics and chord changes work best, she allows herself to be vulnerable, brave and brutally honest at the same time. .
Helping Jesse develop her sound and overall vision is producer Doug Petty, who came into her life as a fan of her vocals and songwriting before she had signed her record deal with Artistry Music. Petty, also a veteran keyboardist who has worked with the likes of Nick Lachey, Celine Dion, Audra McDonald, Britney Spears, Lisa Loeb and Shawn Colvin, agreed to produce her material whether she had a label or not. What Jesse calls his “meticulous, mad scientist approach to production” allowed her to keep the integrity of her songs from demo through the many layers and textures he brought forth. Testament to Jesse’s artistry is the caliber of studio musicians who were invited to play on the project – including bassists Tim Lefebvre and Alex Al and drummers Matt Chamberlain and Aaron Sterling.
Jesse grew up a multi-instrumentalist (piano, trumpet, etc.) with parents whose passion for an eclectic array of music inspired her to deeply respect the art of great songs and songwriters, from Carole King and Joni Mitchell to Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and The Beatles. Her multitude of talents as a vocalist and songwriter of strength and depth are showcased powerfully on the five tracks of The Paper Trail EP.

Baby FuzZ, the latest project from songwriter Sterling Fox, is an alt rock/glam pop band with a rotating cast of contributors, band members, and characters. Baby FuzZ's music fuses a number of styles from emo to rock and roll to strange ballads, while the live show is theatrical and absurd.
Described as “one of the most slept on acts in music” by Hillydilly, Baby FuzZ has released a litany of singles and bizarrely brilliant videos in 2018 and is dropping a full length album Plastic Paradise at the end of January. In the past, Fox, the frontman of the group, produced “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey and has written songs for the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears, and Avicii.

Writing songs that deal with every color and nuance of life, The Songery aims to push mental boundaries through genre-bending pop and theatrics. The concepts, ideas, and messages behind the songs are more important than the songs themselves and every move, every sound, every visual is developed with care and intent in a final attempt to peel back the mask that humanity can so easily wear.
When asked why one person would decide to call herself “The Songery” she replies, “The Songery is more than a persona. It is a call to arms, a spearhead signaling for spiritual awakening, symbolic of an ideology that the world seems to be lacking severely and yet constantly surrounds us. For this reason, my project is grounded in story-line, integrity, concept, and character. I feel very secondary- as if I am the one driving the car, and it’s my car… but I am not the car. The Songery is a name I feel very intertwined with, I feel it so perfectly encapsulates the whimsical world I strive to show people. I’m not quite there yet. I’m still developing, completely on my own, so it is a process… but I’ll get there.”
-I also feel the name gives me freedom to play with all these abstracts and to adopt such a wide range of tones and subject matter. Some very light, some very dark, ranging substantially in color yet all unified within this world. I have been writing songs and performing since I was a little girl, and never really had the belief that I could or should be trying to make a career out of it… until The Songery came along. It sparked a purpose within me. I believe in The Songery with such passion that I want to keep fighting until I see it realized. The Songery comes with power to me. It is more than me. It is bigger than me. If I forfeited the name, the music would not feel the same. Nothing would feel the same. It would not be the same.
The Songery loves Jonsi, Sigur Ros, Regina Spektor, Danny Elfman, Queen, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Beethoven, all the random hits of the 80s, and pretty much any film score.

The motto at Hunnypot Live is "Smock 'em if you got 'em". We sure did that on Monday night. Show #406 was our winter holiday party and last show of the year and we did celebrate. Our true love, Hot Tub Johnnie, gave to us an opening set of good tidings music. (Christmas) Tree Adams hung and stocked us with care with an interview about his career as a band guy and a film and television composer. Then he jumped right down the chimney with his band Dagnasterpus and funked the audience right in their faces. Trishes brought us to musical ecstasy with multiple....personalities electronic pop/ Everyone got Heather Cole in their stockings and it was an amazing pop music gift. Mt. Vrnon rose just like an empress above the mid city and h2the fueled the dance party with a set that could have lasted for 8 days. 12/10/2018
Recap: J. Gray Photos: J. Gray, R. Taalbi, Juice
Tree Adams approaches the sound of a wooden spoon mashing potatoes, church bells tolling in Corsica, or air pushing through a tube mic pre with equal interest. Any of these could inspire a fresh way to tell a story with music, which is what he does. Equally at home conducting a large orchestra, programming beats in the studio, cranking out loud guitar solos in an amphitheater or arranging vocal parts with a gospel choir, Tree lives to create original and unique work for his every project.
Over the past 20 years, Tree’s adventures in film and television have given him the opportunity to collaborate with great talent in diverse styles. Current projects include an epic scifi score for Jason Rothenberg’s The 100 (CW), which is rife with dark soundscape, Middle Eastern colors and orchestral themes. Warner Bros/Water Tower has released 3 soundtracks of Tree’s score for The 100. For NCIS: New Orleans, Tree layers contemporary high energy procedural pulses and textures with New Orleans inflected blues/jazz ensemble elements and voodoo. The Freshman series‘Lethal Weapon called for him to score hip-hop-driven car chases, comedic cop banter and tender moments underscoring a range of relationships. Ken Biller’s international espionage thriller, Legends (TNT) featured a more minimalist approach combining solo celo and electronic soundscapes. For the John Hertzfeld’s redemption film Reach Me (Millenium Films), a traditional orchestral score. A gritty rock score for Californication (Showtime), an urgent cerebral score for the crime drama, Perception (TNT) a high energy electronica score for action/thriller Run (Millenium Films.) A dusty western score for Swelter and gritty hip hop grooves for Denis Leary and Bob Fisher’s comedy Sirens (USA).
Tree was somewhat reluctantly immersed in classical piano training at an early age. When he was around 10 years old, he heard Hendrix, at which point he picked up the guitar and found his love o’ the sport. He spent most of the ‘90s on the road as the frontman for a rock band called The Hatters, who released several records on Atlantic. They were road warrioirs, touring with bands like The Allman Brothers, Tribe Called Quest, King Sunny Ade and Jimmy Cliff. While in the studio recording the band’s last album, Tree had the opportunity to produce an end title song for a studio feature film and he had his first taste of music as an applied art. He found the process of working to picture exciting and intriguing and when his band dissolved later that year, Tree set out on a new course as a composer.
Since then, Tree has enjoyed collaborating with filmmakers to craft music with storytelling, where he employs an expansive musical palette in his adventures in film and television.
A true raconteur, Tree unveiled the first of his six issue graphic novel series DUSKRIDERS in spring 2017. The story chronicles the perils and pursuits of a three-man renegade army fighting to save a dying Earth and avenge the murder of protagonist Dublyn Stinson’s father. The comic was released digitally, along with a self-titled soundtrack, and is available at DuskridersComic.com.
Born in Berkeley, raised in New York City, Tree lives on the east side of Los Angeles with his wife and kids.

DAGNASTERPUS is a groove machine that fell out of the mind of road warrior/composer, Tree Adams, former frontman of the New York City jam band, THE HATTERS, recently known for his work scoring film n tv projects such as THE 100, CALIFORNICATION, LEGENDS & NCIS NOLA.
DAGNASTERPUS features nimble horns, grimy beats and soulful vocals. Tree’s lyrics are imaginative and evocative, weaving observations of the everyday life with tales of secret agents, disreputable characters and a healthy pinch of who gives a fuck.
The Dag squad is an amorphous organism comprised of trumpeter, Jordan Katz (DeLa Soul, Method Man & Lucinda Williams), saxophonist, David Ralicke (Beck, Ziggy Marley & Macy Gray) and trombonist Shaunte Palmer (Earth, Wind & Fire & Kamasi Washington). Bassist, Ethan Phillips (DeLaSoul, Ghostface Killah & Raekwon). Drummers: Yayo Morales (Rita Marley) and Michael Jerome (Blind Boys of Alabama, Me’shell Ndgeocehllo) along with James Brack (background vocals, keyboards and percussion). Trishes is a project by Trinidadian native Trish Hosein, created to express Freud's constructs of self (the primal, conscious and spiritual) through spoken word, live looping and vocal effects. Her undeniably original songwriting, fleshed out by hip-hop beats and pop hooks, examines human struggle through an anthropological lens.
Hosein began touring the U.S. and abroad after graduating from the Berklee College of Music, and has opened for acts like Damian Marley, Vic Mensa, K. Flay, Neon Hitch and Gavin Turek. Her dynamic live show awes audiences as Hosein takes them into her museum-like mind and creates a sonic blanket with her unique sound. After seeing Hosein perform Marie Claire, Allure and Cosmopolitan writer Shyema Azam called it "Enchanting," continuing, "It wasn't hard to see that this one woman show was super talented, making her own music and expertly layering her voice over catchy tunes as she went along."
Hosein's upcoming album "Ego" focuses on the entities that define humanity while addressing the current cultural and political climate. Each focus track on the album will be aided by art collections and personal essays. When not working on music, Hosein helps resettle refugees in the Los Angeles area, volunteers with Rock n Roll Camp for Girls, and is on the board of the Elder Entertainment Organization. She is also a brand ambassador for American Express and Discover LA.

Emerging pop artist, Heather Cole teams a compelling vocal talent with heart, passion, and ability to connect and move a room full of music listeners. Heather explains, " What I love most about music is how it connects people through shared experiences. Making and sharing music is like a group therapy session. Sometimes it's just letting loose and dancing, and sometimes its admitting a mistake, sometimes its declaring to choose yourself over a relationship. No matter what it is, we all have personal experiences we want to share. The best way for me to do that is through my music."
The Los Angeles based Alaska native is influenced by powerhouse pop artists, such as Katy Perry. Justin Timberlake, and Demi Lovato, Cole's music portrays her ability to balance a soft and vulnerable side with sultry confidence.
In 2015, Cole released her first co-written track a song called "Not that Smart", which is a duet with fellow Belmont classmate and former American Idol finalist, Rayvon Owen. Soon after she released "Hearts Will Break" to radio. Gaining attention from iHeart Radio's "Most Requested Live with Romeo," Cole visited Top 40 stations across the country, being touted for her engaging and authentic personality, along with her ability to capture an audience. Cat Thomas, VP of Top 40 at Cumulus, bragged, "[Heather Cole] is a real artist. When you meet her, you know she has the 'IT' factor.
Earlier this year, Heather released her debut EP entitled "One of Our Hearts," which is also a visual project. Cole tells the story of one relationship, beginning to end through music and film. Cole created the concept, wrote the script, co-choreographed the dancing, and was the overall creative director for this video project.
"Everyday Lover" is the first single from her new project. "When I wrote this song with Abe Stewart and Rhett Fisher, I was happily in a relationship I wanted to hang out with everyday."

Mt. Vrnon is an indie folk project born in Los Angeles, CA. Their music blends layered harmonies, retro synths and acoustic sounding programmed beats, to create a sound that transcends genres. The sound and songs have a dreamlike quality disguising ardent, introspective lyrics in trans-formative textures and expansive reverb.
“Brilliantly blending 80’s synths with an new cutting edge sampling style, rising hip hop/experimental producer h2the released his debut single titled “Taste Of The“, a teaser/cut-up off his new beat tape exclusively available on cassette!” – UGHH
URB Magazine wrote that “[h2the] is something else…in a profound kind of way,” calling his sound titillating and “juicy for the ears,” while The Village Voice described his productions as “adventurous and banging.”
2DOPEBOYZ and Vibe Magazine’s allhiphop.com have also noted h2the’s rap flips of 80?s inspired sonics. It’s the producer as auteur as every track takes you through the emotional space of the artist, like Kanye or Godard.
Our guts (not our brains) tell us we only have about 100 years till the end of this planet and only 1 more Hunnypot Live show before the end of this year. Our 2nd to last show of the year, #405, might have made it all worth it.
Hot Tub Johnnie cooked the atmosphere early with "green" house gasses & party jams. In a not so change of climate, industry professional Kristen Agee (411 Music Group), jumped in the (fire) water with us. Kristen got an A+ on her interview where we learned about her career as a professional musician and copyright keeper. She also brought an awesome diverse playlist of music she shared with us.
The Living Strange gave us that curious life music filled with riff rock and catchy melodies, Velvet Starlings weren't nearly as soft as their moniker while they performed high energy rock n roll music, SILVERSAGE straddled that pop/rock/dance music line as tight as ever, Franklin Manor returned to perform melodic rock hits, and Hot Tub closed the night with a scorched earth dance party. 11/26/2018

The Living Strange is an alternative rock band based in Brooklyn, NY that is the brainchild of 19 year old songwriter, Elijah Sokolow. Sokolow wanted to form a band that could combine heavy guitar driven riffs of Tom Morello with a more modern electronic atmosphere in the vein of Annie Clarke of St. Vincent. On the new debut album “Gunk”, nearly all instruments are performed by Sokolow other than drums, which are performed by Ben Shafrir. As a live act, The Living Strange consists of Sokolow (vocals, guitar), Ben Shafrir (drums), Nico Sleator (synth), and Miles Blue Spruce (bass). The band has toured throughout the U.S and recently did the Vans Warped Tour.

If Hunnypot promoted and sold a plush bear it would have Hot Tub Johnnie's signature Fez hat, Ryan Taalbi's cool shades and DJ Spectrum's (Jeff Gray) harmonica necklace. It would be perfect as a motorcycle companion, as a camping buddy and cuddling on those cold Los Angeles nights. Perhaps we'd call it Humpy Bear.
We also had Hunnypot Live show #404 on Monday night.
Hot Tub kicked off the night with a "Gund shot" of hard rockin hits. Clay Busch landed in the tub with us to talk about his journey from sports, to music to cannabis marketing and slayed with a set of Heavy Grass jams. The 131ers played Velveteen smooth pop rock tunes, Wrong Wolf came from a killer Cabbage Patch to rock us hard, Skatenigs stuffed us with evil riffs and lyrics, Moon Riot was heady Teddy of psychedelia, Hollywood Nightmare had us all clamoring for a Plush bedtime companion and Hot Tub sewed up the night with another fantastic dance party set. 11/12/2018
An alumni of Chapman University, Clay Busch joined Heavy Grass in 2018 to run all marketing, creative and brand vision for Heavy Grass.

Neon. Rust. Chemical plants and railroad tracks. Industrialized particulate set ablaze by the setting sun. These common sights litter the east side of the township of Torrance, CA. This is also the birthplace of the vibrant indie collective, The 131ers.
Founded in 2012, the band has grown from a two-piece blue-veined American folk project to a full scale quadraphonic tour de force. The solid foundation of friendship between founding members Kaleb Davies (vox/guitar) and Ryan Dawson (drums) permeates every note, eventually shepherding fellow members Chris Graue (bass) and Greg Wilmot (guitar) into the fold. The 131ers have claimed their own unique genre-bending sound by successfully infusing rock n’ roll with funk, edge, passion and soul.
The band came together in pieces. Kaleb and I met in high school Track and Field. We hated each other at first but ended up bonding over the band Young the Giant and started playing music together. We would actually ditch track practice, buy taco bell, and go rehearse at Kaleb's house” – Explains Ryan.
Modern yet vintage, the sonic pleadings flowing from Kaleb’s brain triggers unbridled nostalgia that seems to force you to look over your shoulder while simultaneously compelling your spirit forward to the unknown future. The pulsating rhythm from Ryan hijacks your heart rate, while you are propelled by Chris’ bass line, while Greg exposes one infectious riff after another.
“We've tried to force ourselves to write songs or prepare material to bring in and show the others, but it never works that way. The songs are really born in rehearsal. Someone starts playing something, then someone else piggy backs on their idea. Then we argue about structure and ideas for a really long time and usually throw the whole song away. But sometimes after we fight for a while, we all end up agreeing on something, and Kaleb goes away and writes the lyrics when no one else is there to bother him” says Chris.
The name of the band comes from an error in early MP3 tagging technology. These files carry data including title, artist, album, and more. The genre tag options were severely limited, and many artists found themselves unable to fit neatly into any of the boxes they could check. Several of these artists would leave the field blank, generating an error displaying “131” in the genre column of music playing software. As a child, Kaleb noticed that several of his favorite artists carried this error and would later go on to call their box-breaking sound “indie rock.” 131 later became the short code to define this genre in MP3 tags.
Following up their 2016 debut, self-titled album, the band has been gearing up for their sophomore release. Recorded mostly in their self-built warehouse studio, they’ve enlisted talents such as Vince Walker (Suburban Legends) and Ryland Steen (America) to help produce. Their first single and video, “Face On,” premiered in May 2017, with a full album coming summer 2018.
“Our music is definitely influenced by Southern California. A lot of our favorite bands are local, Chris is also involved in making music videos for a lot of SoCal bands which lead to Vince Walker, singer of Suburban Legends, coming in to produce our new album” says Kaleb.
In August of 2017, Kaleb and Ryan found themselves caught in the middle of Hurricane Irma during what was supposed to be a vacation in Puerto Rico. They had to participate in preparation efforts with people they had just met and now call friends while they rode out the storm in a hostel. When they returned home they deeply wanted to find a way to help so they founded Artists for Disaster Relief (www.afdrmusic.com), an organization they set up to bring musicians together to fund charity efforts around the world. Their first project, “Arecibo” is a compilation album released in January 2018 via Pledge Music with all proceeds going to Friends of Puerto Rico (www.friendsofpuertorico.org.)
The band has also taken the reins as organizers, bookers as well as performing at the Avaline Music Festival which will take place May 25-28 at Avaline Ranch, located near King City, California. A fundraising event for the Guidry Foundation, an arts and education charity. Four days of camping, swimming in a natural water hole, hiking and live music on May 26 and 27.
Look for the band to crisscross the country in 2018 in support of their new album Nothing's as it Should Be to be release this June.

Do you live life to the fullest? This is a question that for thirty years now has been challenged by a formidable group known as the Skatenigs. A band of heathens that has survived like cockroaches navigating life’s ups and downs making no excuses for their unconventional lifestyles or lack of. Phil Owen (aka Phildo) developed a brand of music that stole from every aspect of outlaw genres such as punk rock, heavy metal, rap, hillbilly and every sacred rock and roll anthem vulnerable to its taking. After landing a deal with the Chicago based Wax Trax Records, through an introduction from his Revolting Cocks cohort and Ministry’s main man Al Jourgensen, Phildo penned the now classic song “Chemical Imbalance.” Years of reckless abandon would result later signing with Megaforce Records, known for their connection to breaking Metallica, a classic episode of “Beavis and Butthead,” video plays on MTV’s Headbangers Ball, several successful tours with Ministry, KMFDM, GWAR, FEAR etc. and a failed European tour with TOOL which brought the band to a break up that would later be revived by Phildo. 2016 brought the release of the band’s most current album Adult Entertainment for Kids which features videos for the songs “Taste” and “At War with Myself.” This album currently is streamed in 51 countries and has assured the Skatenigs are anything but forgotten! Join Phildo and his band of creetons as they rise from the gutter to bring you an undeniable experience that is sure to be on your bucket list!

Sudan Archives' "Nont for Sale" masterfully transforms her pain into an unwavering show of self-love. “Nont for Sale” begins with anxious, plucked violin and a no-nonsense directive: “You only call me/When you need something/I need to be free.” The song expertly showcases Sudan Archives’ voice, her chanted lyrics rise confidently above the jittery instrumentals as she continues to warn a toxic friend to back off.
The 23-year-old producer/vocalist Sudan Archives mixes Northeast African folk violin with electronic music, creating a complex web of sounds that includes percussive plucks, swooping orchestral strings, and looped beats. Signed to Stone Throw Records Sudan Archives is making her mark and bringing us into her expressive and vibrant world.

Everyone at Hunnypot Live tends to leave with a hoarse face from cheering and singing along. Monday night we really saddled up with another great show. . , , Hot Tub started with a trailhead music set perfect for riding in rhythm. Rick Clark galloped in and jousted our hearts with his origins story and a great set of music to share. Joaquin Torres gave us unbridled pop gems, Wolves pranced on stage and had us howling along to their pop magic, Jason Charles Miller performed a thoroughbred worthy set of gritty rock n roll music and OG L Boogie cut through the slop with an impromptu rap-along jam. Hot Tub Johnnie hit the finish line with another amazing dance set to cool off the herd for the end of the night. . . Photos & recap by J. Gray 10/15/2018
Rick Clark grew up immersed in music in his hometown of Memphis, TN, a place where Rock, R&B, and Blues were everywhere. His first records where Sun Records 45's by Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Charlie Rich, as well as New Orleans Dixieland jazz by Sweet Emma & The Preservation Hall Band and raw British Invasion albums by The Yardbirds and The Kinks. Clark regards his first concert, James Brown & His Famous Flames in 1966, as a life-changing event that inspired him to pursue a life in music. By High School, Clark was working in Memphis' main record shop, Poplar Tunes; a place where local artists like Isaac Hayes and Al Green would sometimes hang, as well as every self-respecting band from England who made a pilgrimage there.
During the 70's onward, Clark played live and in sessions, including projects with members of Big Star, Memphis Horns, and the seminal Memphis Power Pop scene.
Early on, Clark DJ'ed his own radio show at WLYX-FM Memphis and his enthusiasm for creating great road music mix cassettes earned a rep as a go-to guy for new and great sounds, eventually starting a successful business programming music for every genre in venues throughout the South and other parts of the country. Eventually, he wrote for numerous national publications, including Billboard, Mix, Rolling Stone, Guitar Player, the All-Music Guide, Goldmine, and others. He also authored The Expert's Encyclopedia of Recording and, most recently, the third edition of his book Mixing, Recording and Producing Techniques of the Pros.
Over time, Clark began producing and compiling numerous major and indie label album releases, as well as writing liner notes, on artists ranging from Ricky Nelson, Dave Edmunds and Lynyrd Skynyrd to Leo Kottke, Jean Luc Ponty, and Big Star. Clark also began working as a curator, music consultant and independent A&R with clients ranging from museums, magazines to films and major label projects.
Meanwhile, Clark's production work in the studio attracted projects with Los Super Seven (an amalgam that included Calexico, Lyle Lovett, Delbert McClinton, John Hiatt, Raul Malo, Freddy Fender, Rodney Crowell and others) and work with Death Cab For Cutie, - music for The Band tribute Lost Highway and the hit TV show Weeds. Clark would also produce 26 shows of Marty Stuart's American Odyssey for Sirius/XM radio, direct two videos on Emmylou Harris for Warner DVD-Audio, compose and produce music for IBM's International Globalnet, as well as have his photography featured in gallery shows, record albums, and ad campaigns.
Beginning in 1997, through a recommendation by the legendary producer Jim Dickinson, Clark began work producing, co-compiling and doing all the legal clearance work for what would be the first seven volumes of the award-winning Oxford American Magazine music CDs, featuring music ranging from legendary artists like Bob Dylan, Randy Newman and BB King to obscure blues, jazz and Cajun music recordings. The collection quickly earned fans from T-Bone Burnett, Hunter Thompson, Cameron Crowe, Billy Bob Thornton, Orlando Bloom, Dolly Parton, Sidney Pollack and many others. The 2001 Oxford American music issue won The Blues Foundation's prestigious Keeping The Blues Alive award.
In 2012, The Oxford American brought Clark back on to produce their future music issues and CDs, including Lousiana, Texas and the Tennessee music issue which featured a two-CD set.
As a Music Supervisor, Clark's credits include working with Jason Reitman on Up In The Air, Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me (a film about the critically acclaimed band Big Star), Billy Bob Thornton's Jayne Mansfield's Car, the AMC episodic Western show Hell On Wheels and Sundance/AMC TV's Hap And Leonard. He is currently music supervising Oprah Winfrey's gospel drama Greenleaf for the OWN network.

Joaquin Torres first came to public prominence as a television actor, soap star and he performed on the Latin American version of Dancing With The Stars. Joaquin appeared on late night television, morning shows and on Puerto Rican MTV.
Behind the scenes, Torres has always had a love for music. He learned to play the guitar at the age of 15 and soon he was writing songs and putting his poetry to music. When he was 18, Joaquin Torres enrolled in a conservatory acting program after earning a scholarship. This catapulted him to household name status in the Latin America as he commuted from his native California between projects.
"It was exciting to achieve success at an early age, but I always felt I was holding something back that was very important to my soul. I needed to do my own thing.”
Joaquin is now dedicating his career to mining the dark wave musical aesthetic within him. His body of work wrestles with spirituality, heartache and existential angst. His lyrics are poetic and expressively raw, made even more potent by his stirring vocals, a mix of guttural longing and bittersweet low-register melodicism.
"Desnudame" is Joaquin's first single to be released in the USA from his forthcoming album. The song was produced by Aldo Muñoz and Torres delivers with honesty and passion.
"I'm looking forward to getting this music out to the world. It gives my life so much meaning. It's the reason I'm still here. I'm ready to give this new era in my career everything I have."
Joaquin Torres makes a bold move in his career by releasing the music that lives in his heart and in his head. His fiery emotion is a fresh signature sound for a world-class performer.

Meet WOLVES, a band that is breaking barriers and pushing the boundaries of modern music with their infectious blend of genres. Consisting of Marc Avery, Sean Carney, and Rockwell Sands, the Los Angeles based trio have created their own unique sound, marrying pop sensibilities with bold rock’n’roll and gritty urban beats. With each member hailing from various cultural backgrounds, WOLVES have crafted their own distinct style, shaping the sound of pop culture as we know it.
“We wondered what it would be like if we took all these different influences we loved—artists like Michael Jackson, the Eagles, Coldplay—and rolled them all into one band today,” Sands muses. Their eclectic influences proved to be inspirational, with their debut single ‘Animal’ giving the trio their signature explosive sound.
The band was named after the characteristics of wolves. These majestic animals which are bonded by an innate sense of the pack, move in harmony as one unit towards common goals. “I can’t think of a better way to describe us. The three of us are all about the good of the group; every day we try to embody that philosophy in our music and beyond.” remarks Avery.
WOLVES highly anticipated single 'Freaky' is an anthem to inspire others to be brave and embrace who you are, to share your inner-most desires with the world and to live life to the fullest. Featuring slick indie pop grooves, 90’s reminiscent hip hop and hard-hitting rhythms, ‘Freaky’ is a song that you can’t help but dance to. "We love listening to music from back in the day and try to re-imagine what it would sound like today.” reveals Carney.
From the primal energy of ‘Animal' to the seductive tones in ‘Freaky’, WOLVES have crafted a wildly diverse range of music built for pop radio and stadiums alike. Having already earned top spots on the Billboard charts and heavy rotation on Sirius XM Hits 1, the trio hopes to inspire audiences across the globe with their music, and to continue creating unforgettable songs that at once nod to the past and hurtle towards the future. ‘Freaky’ is set for release summer 2018.
