Our industry guest host, Robert Messinger, had to reschedule for a later date.
Hot Tub Johnnie stepped up with party tunes to step up and down to.
St. Bodhi (from Hunnypot intern to superstar) sang, rapped and rocked therapy wrapped in hooks.
Mad Circuit also has the "mad notes from god herself". LG Team Genius and Sereda partied, popped, and locked us in with music and moves.
Hot Tub kept the after party lively with the big beats. 8/9/2021
Saint Bodhi’s music is eclectic and bold because it had to be. The Los Angeles singer and songwriter dives deliriously between expansive sounds and styles?—aquatic R&B, dreamy rap, and avant funk, among other genres?—as a way of conveying the complexity of her history and emotions. She looks to both past and present with unflinching honesty on her acclaimed 2020 debut Mad World, which digs through the traumatic memories of a tough childhood and toasts the hard-won success of her recent years. On 2021’s vibrant Antisocial, she continues to enjoy the blessings of her rise, preserving a peace that took decades to attain by both turning up and looking inward, making kaleidoscopic songs that feel deeply meditative and quietly anthemic.
After growing up in South Central L.A., Bodhi parlayed her early love for an eclectic mix of powerful songwriters—Nina Simone, Nirvana, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, Eminem, Stevie Wonder—into a burgeoning songwriting career. Her talent and tenacity carried her into writing rooms with the likes of Cortez Bryant and Teddy Riley. Her hustle paid off when she landed a publishing deal, and quickly became an in-demand writer, collaborating with top-tier artists like A$AP Rocky, Jaden Smith, and Kevin Gates. She even earned a 2021 Grammy nomination for her work on Lecrae's "Sunday Morning" duet with Kirk Franklin. But when she started recording colorful demos of her own, it became clear that her artistry went beyond serving others’ visions.
Since signing with Def Jam, Bodhi’s moved from behind-the-scenes to fully fledged star. Mad World was bolstered by poignant single “FlowerChild,” which displayed Bodhi’s soulful vocals and offered glimpses of her upbringing: “Feet hit the pavement, sirens are blarin' / Crackheads'll get ya what ya need, how much you payin'?” The song received praise from Revolt, Teen Vogue, and FADER, which highlighted its “cutting lyricism.” You could also hear sharp writing on tracks like “Pray,” where Bodhi delivered stern warnings to anyone who might “test her love.”

Our guest host/legend, Fred Jasper, told the tale that told the tale of his music industry adventures and shared a playlist of his unique personality.
Warsaw Pact fought against musical mediocrity overreach with an Iron Block of newish wavy rock.
Binx returned with her "Bumble Pop" music and sights and was joined by Mada Atoms's particle accelerating raps and riffs. 7/26/2021
Fred Jasper is the Head of Licensing for Yep Roc Records, Sundazed Music and Riff City Sounds Publishing. He has been based in Los Angeles since moving here from North Carolina in 1999 to become the west coast liaison for Sugar Hill Records (the legendary Americana/Bluegrass/Folk/etc. record label, not the legendary Hip Hop label) after Sugar Hill was sold to the Welk Music Group (Vanguard Records, Ranwood Records).
After stints in publicity + sales & marketing for Sugar Hill, Fred switched to music licensing in 2005 for all of the Welk Music Group labels, eventually becoming VP of TV/Film Licensing until Vanguard + Sugar Hill were sold to Concord Music in 2015. At Concord, Fred continued to specialize in licensing music from the Sugar Hill and Vanguard catalogs and also began producing compilations for Concord’s reissue arm, Craft Recordings.
In March of 2019, Fred began working at Yep Roc Records, a record label he has been a fan of since he brought in their very first releases on consignment while managing the Record Exchange in Raleigh, NC in the mid-to-late 90s. Fred has only ever worked at a record store or a record label since graduating from college in the early ‘90s, and finds it hard to imagine earning a living doing anything else other than working in, with or around music.
Starting life as the solo project of Ivan Delint in 2018, with the goal of fusing dance-punk and dark wave into it’s own unique brew, Warsaw Pact released “Extended Play I” to favorable reviews and opened for such classic act Pink Turns Blue, playing to a max capacity crowd at Echo Park's Part Time Punks.

Hunnypot Live is malleable. Without performers and guests we (Hot Tub Johnnie, Jeff Gray, Ryan Taalbi, Justin "Juice" Born) pulled off a classic Hunnypot Live show reminiscent of the early days of Hunnypot (Radio). Jason Cienkus came through to discuss his music supervision career, exciting new happenings and absolutely amazing playlists. Future Hunnypot Live guest, Sean The Star Emperor, also stopped by to chat and life and music. We can't wait to see you all again very soon. 3/16/2020
Jason started his career at the forefront of music supervision in the 90’s that led to an illustrious run at Warner Bros. Records. He was part of the duo that started the very first soundtrack department at that label, which was responsible for the production of movie soundtracks tallying over $30 million in worldwide sales. His passion for film and the marketing of the music from it, guided him to a position at New Line Cinema where he spearheaded soundtrack strategy, marketing and synergies across the company.
Sensing a dramatic shift in the music business, Jason pivoted to digital and found himself at the center of the halcyon days of YouTube creators and digital influencers. His position at the boutique start up DanceOn gave him an opportunity to break ground in the music licensing area for YouTube content. In addition, he created a digital marketing platform for the company where social media and video influencers could use music effectively to market and promote artists & songs in a natural and organic way. This tactic has now become a key part of digital marketing plans for record labels, artist managers & musicians.
Jason is currently working on a dance competition show as the music supervisor & music clearance lead titled ‘Floored’, which is being produced for the new streaming platform Quibi that will launch in April 2020.
Jason is a pop culture enthusiast who has his finger on the pulse of entertainment across all media, verticals & platforms. A list of past projects can be provided upon request.
Last night Hunnypot Live got your motors runnin'. Sleazy rider, Hot Tub Johnnie, pulled a secret stash of tracks to start the night off. Big Tim cooled his engines in the hot tub and gave us a personal look in to his lifestyle brand of babes, bikes, fashion and of course music. Premier A Cappella returned to Hunnypot Live with a rolling thunder of harmonies and charmities. Zana Messia and the Midnight Mission used her loud pipes to save lives and and encourage stage dives. Super Bee Binx once again delivered a full tank of pop fuel. Oppenheimer performed catchy pop with a "blacked out" finish and Hot Tub bookended the night with shop manual music to teach everyone to dance. (3/2/20)

Artist and songwriter Zana Messia - originally from the Balkans, grew up in Sweden where she escaped as a war refugee. Her music has been recorded in 6 languages, featured in film and TV, released by artists from the US, New Zealand, China, Sweden and Eastern Europe. She has been shortlisted for an Academy Award for best original song and was the featured artist in the FIFA Cup “Samba of The World” campaign.
Zana’s most recent musical undertaking is the creation of her alter-ego punk/rock/soul band The Midnight Mission, which reinterprets Zana’s songs in a raw, edgy fashion, aiming to challenge outdated labels such as genre and radio formats. Her upcoming album “11:11” is essentially an experiment. Each song is produced in two significantly different ways. The album is produced by the Grammy nominated producer/bass player Billy Mohler.
“Zana Messia refers to The Midnight Mission as her altered ego, because the project allows her to detour from writing contemporary pop songs to penning music from edgier genres like punk rock, alternative and soul. One of the band’s most eclectic compositions is a love song entitled Enuff.”
Zana Messia just released the music video for her single “L.A. Minute”, an ode to Los Angeles as the city where reality can change on a dime. This is the second single from Zana’s new double album entitled 11:11.

Pardon me, or whomever, last night's Hunnypot Live was judged a winner. Hot Tub Johnnie started by sentencing everyone with a party music playlist. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, Billy Hammer, is set to release his latest single “Glow” on December 6th, 2019. A former remixer, he got his start as “GARLYN,” with his top two tracks amassing nearly 1M streams on SoundCloud and counting. With his Soundcloud days behind him, Billy Hammer’s recent work is characterized by its seamless blend of desert-psychedelia and electropop, and he writes, producers and records all of his music single handedly.
His upcoming track, “Glow,” is a story told through vignettes, each verse about chasing adventure and life-changing experiences. For Hammer, growing up in suburbia, the song is personal, the first verse describing the time he left his old life behind to be a musician in Los Angeles. A common thread across the vignettes, Hammer speaks to the power of music as a force of change and revelation.
Across his work, Billy Hammer discusses a search for meaning and often cites desert imagery and existentialism as inspiration. After mastering guitar, violin, and piano in his childhood, and becoming a popular future bass producer by the end of grade school, Billy Hammer’s work is a unique mix of live and electronic elements, making him a multi-talented musician to watch

Apparently the "Shadow" doesn't know. Hunnypot Live had an less confusing and more rocking night than an Iowa Caucus. Hot Tub Johnnie unanimously was elected to start the party music. The Mayor of the Sunset Strip, Rodney Bingenheimer, joined us in a campaign to tell us about his illustrious entertainment career and cool people stories (spoiler, everybody famous knows Rodney). Caroline probably can't vote but she sings pop songs perfect for budding adult citizens. Garrett Holbrook hit with high polling hard rock music. Batfarm canvased with nocturnal rock notes from the stage. Flipp dropped in for a state of their union before they had to catch a plane and let a little brother on stage for backup and Hot Tub turned in a closing dance set for the ages. If you don’t know who Rodney Bingenheimer is then you’ve been missing out on some of the most memorable moments in music history. Mr. Rodney Bingenheimer has been one of the most influential and legendary DJs in Southern California. He created a name for himself when he unintentionally helped pioneer some of the most successful and iconic bands, and it all started back in 1976 when he joined the KROQ. Back in his days with KROQ, Rodney would host “Rodney on the Roq.”, Where he would play "new artists", creating a wave on new trending bands such as Blondie, The Ramones, the Sex Pistols, Joan Jett, No Doubt, Nirvana and Coldplay, to name a few.
Since the start of his career, he has been dubbed as "the prince of pop" and has held that title for over 20 years. He was even the subject of a documentary, titled “The Mayor of the Sunset Strip”. His colleague, Jed the Fish quoted Rodney as “Key to the history of Orange County Music” It is an honor to have Mr. Bingenheimer with us, and we will forever treasure this moment in Hunnypot history. Cheers, to the one and only Mr. Rodney Bingenhimer.

Garrett Holbrook is a multi-talented vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and live performer. His love for rock and metal stemmed from growing up in Olympia, Washington on the heels of the Seattle Grunge scene. In his own words: “As a child, I heard Van Halen’s [self-titled] debut album and Judas Priest's ‘Metal Works’ and my life changed forever.” He picked up the guitar at eight years old and hasn’t looked back. He immersed himself in music; learning and excelling on a variety of instruments, including becoming an accomplished Lap Steel Guitarist. He moved to California to study Rock Vocals and Guitar at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood. Holbrook’s vocal styles cover the musical spectrum from Metal to Americana Edge, but his first love is Rock .Following his intensive music studies at MI, he was introduced to Music Producer/Bassist, Fabrizio Grossi (Dave Navarro, Alice Cooper, Supersonic Blues Machine, Steve Vai). This introduction led to a month-long songwriting/recording collaboration with various recording artists including Steve Lukather (Guitarist; Toto) and Kenny Aronoff (Drummer, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars). Holbrook contributed six new recordings; and the relationship with Grossi spawned yet another exciting career opportunity for this emerging talent.
In 2018, he was invited to join the all-star rock band “Drop the Needle” (DTN) as Lead Vocalist. DTN‘s line-up includes Producer/Bassist Fabrizio Grossi, Drummer Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction); Lead Guitarist Rafael Moreira (Pink, Paul Stanley; American Idol, The Voice); and Keyboardist/MD Alex Alessandroni, Jr. (Christina Aguilera, Pink). Garrett’s power vocals and nationwide performances with DTN have placed him on the radar of local music producers, collaborating recording artists, Film/TV music supervisors, commercial jingle producers, and professional session musicians.
Holbrook’s performance style is reminiscent of Classic Rock and Nu Metal vocalists such as Steven Tyler and Jonathan Davis; creating a present-day rock sound that attracts fans from all musical genres. Garrett is currently rehearsing his new solo band, and writing/recording a new album.
Alexx Calise and Dennis Morehouse were exposed to music from a very young age. They’ve been feeling the effects ever since.
Comprised of Calise, an introspective lyricist and “harmony machine”, and Morehouse, a masterful arranger and sound manipulator, Batfarm is a two-piece alternative rock band whose sound can be best described as “darkedelic”. The multi-instrumentalists keep it small not only for efficiency’s sake, but also to keep creating the music they want without added personalities.
Though the two were from complete opposite ends of the country, they met in LA through a mutual friend. Realizing immediately that there was chemistry between them, the two began seeing each other. They initially tried to keep their romantic relationship separate, but collaborating on music was inevitable.
A few years into dating, Dennis was asked to write some music for an indie movie. He approached Alexx to help with the song, and they immediately found that they had amazing musical chemistry as well. Shortly after, they started working on music for licensing together. What they found was that they weren’t just developing songs; they were developing a sound that could really be something.
However, a myriad of things began to happen over the course of the next few years, which forced the project to be put on an indefinite hold. Alexx’s song “Cry” took off thanks to a placement in a major TV show, forcing her to really concentrate on her solo career, and her brother also passed away suddenly. Dennis started touring heavily and pursuing other musical ventures in the interim as well. The pair inevitably started to grow apart, and decided to end their romantic relationship.
The story does not have a tragic ending however, as the pair decided to reconnect and record some covers just for fun about a year later, after the emotional dust had settled. Realizing that there was something still there musically, they decided to finally take those songs they wrote all those years ago, and perform them live…And so, Batfarm began.
Ultimately, Calise and Morehouse thought they were just chapters in each other’s books, but they actually found that they were still part of each other’s stories. They were merely playing the wrong characters. Music has always been the constant and the bond for this powerful duo, and you can see their love for each other and their undeniable chemistry on stage and in person. The two even share joint custody of their cat, Mittens, who is often the subject of their promotional posters and videos.
Currently, Batfarm is recording their first EP with longtime friend, Charlie Waymire, who actually gets the band’s quirky humor, genre defying sound, perfectionism, and demand for greatness.
Combining Alexx’s grunge and blues influences with rich, choral soundscapes and Dennis’s love of industrial, funk, and psychedelic music, Batfarm creates a sound that is like everything and nothing at once.
While the music itself is serious, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it is their hope that the darkness of some of their own personal experiences will help others to find their own light.

FLIPP is a Minneapolis-based band (1995) which attempted to revive the Glam-rock era of the early 1970's using its combination of tongue-in-cheek social commentary, self-deprecating wit, cartoonish stage costumes and bizarre, non-sensical electronics.
