Hot Tub Johnnie and the Hunnypot team did it again.
Hot Tub started the evening and kept it going long and hard with super party music. Bobby Green was the first to pop into the Hot Tub for a perfect get to know Bobby interview that teased his crushing DJ set later in the show. Bobby's original single "Lights" is a Hunnypot favorite. Chris Jackson let us know about his deep music business history and love for the songs with his custom playlist that featured Prince "Superfunkycalifragisexy" just hours before he passed. The Proof. lived up to their name and provided evidence of super soul talent. Nova Rockafeller got down with her problems onstage, Blimes rapped mellow and strong with bay area beats, Buckwheat Groats pushed the limits of respectable entertainment just how we like it. L-Boogie made a birthday splash in the tub with his streetwise rhymes, Bobby Green closed out the night. Listen now, tell a friend! 4-18-16

Even further back, Chris co-founded Rightspring, Inc. a pioneering marketplace for searching, licensing and digital delivery of creative assets to professional users. Chris has nearly 20 years’ experience in all facets of the music business including major and independent labels, event production and digital media.
In his spare time, Chris is working on challenging AlphaGo to the ultimate DJ battle.
Texas native, Bobby Green has topped the Hype Machine charts with three consecutive releases…and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. His current single "Lights" features infectious vocals and an upbeat/tropical chorus, "Lights" is a worthy candidate for your ‘Favorites’ playlist. Bobby explains how the track originated:
“The first words that came out of my mouth when I started writing this song were “putting all your lights on.” And I could never get those words out of my head. What Whitney and I eventually realized was that this was a song about the walls that we put up around ourselves, and the way that we often fear a world that fears us back. “Lights” is about the disconnection we all feel, and about the great things that can happen when we open up and show the world who we are.”
Bobby will be spinning his favorites in-between the artists sets and rockin' the Dance Party!

An unconventional take on groove, with funk influences, a brush of the blues, and soulful vocals. The Proof. formed in the summer of 2015. Drew Dolan (Vocals/Keys) and fellow band mate Geramie Laufersky (Guitar/Vocals), broke away from a previous project to collaborate on a new sound. After crossing paths with Ian Murray (Bass) and Lucas Crouch (Drums), the band progressed rapidly and found themselves in the studio within a month’s time, recording their first EP.

Born in Canada, raised in Negril, Jamaica, and having bounced around America, including stops in New York and LA, Nova Rockafeller, who is of Ukrainian, English and French descent, realizes she'll initially be lumped in the "white girl rapper" category, but according to her that's OK, "as long as they say ‘rapper.'"
Nova Rockafeller, first and foremost, is about her skills, which is something some may not initially realize when they take a look at her unique fashion sense that includes custom made jewelry from her Toys On Chains line, and duct tape modified thrift store t-shirts that she plans to market as a modified street wear line "so girls of all body types can modify them." She is imaginative, she is colorful, and she wants to rap circles around her competition. Hunnypot Approved!

From the heart of San Francisco, transplanted in Los Angeles, Blimes is a lyriscist, singer and songwriter armed with an unmatched passion for artistry. Her musical background extends two generations to a blues musician father and jazz musician grandfather, which explains her deep adoration of melody and musicality. Under her former moniker “Oh Blimey” the lyricist donned collaborations from the likes of Too Short, Gavlyn, and Scratch Bandits Crew. But with the ne name, Blimes embarks on a fresh journey to expand her sound and reach. Blimes tore into 2015 at full force co-headlining a 25 city European tour with fellow heavy-hitter Gavlyn and the two have since established their own imprint record label: Peach House Records on which Blimes will release a full length album titled “Castles” the first quarter 2016.

Ancient Sumerian texts tell of a man with boogie so pimpaliciously slick, that the world could not withstand the weight of his almighty funkification. He was born in a maelstrom of smoke and fire, schooled by the legends of Shaolin, and set upon this world to seek that mighty groove, tweak it till it’s smooth, straight up freak and bust a move.
This legend of boogie was deemed too powerful by the elder gods of groove, and so it was decided to seal his spirit away. For thousands of years the spirit of this titan of twerk lay dormant only to be awoken for a single night each year, for if his boogie lasted any longer the cosmos could be torn apart by his vociferous vibrations.
Lo and behold: the great L-Boogie hath arisen from his slumber! Payeth him tribute with dope-ass dance moves & belligerent bong rips, lest ye soul be cast into darkness until he riseth once more.
Hot Tub Johnnie warmed the water with bubbling music to get the party started and kept it going in between live acts and interviews. Anny Colvin let us know what inspired her to get into music supervision, songs she loves and blessed us with her karaoke prowess. Her mother was in attendance along with, 200+ others, and stated that she did a very good job. Streetlight Cadence serenaded the crowd with 4 part harmonies of super rich and catchy melodies. Kendall Morgan brought an eclectic mix of rhythms and hues to the audience. Bonnie Bishop was our secret surprise guest & she provided song after song of rich songwriting and killer vocals. Ramsey enslaved the audience with beats and breaths and TESHA closed the live performances with her soundscapes and record scrapes before Hot Tub closed the night with the world famous dance party. 4/4/2016

Kendall Morgan is a singer/songwriter hailing from the indie rock hub of Nashville. With her haunting vocals and infectious hooks, she has steadily evolved from a softer, soulful sound to a more rhythmic, urban vibrato.
Channeling Morgan's flair for urban grit meets catchy pop writing style, she is a unique lyrical presence that defies genres. Whether it is a hook for a hip hop song or an acoustic driven melody, Morgan seamlessly glides between the contrasting styles. This versatility, combined with her chilling vocals, have led to her recent collaborations.
Morgan appears on Tech N9ne's album Something Else on the track "Fragile", also featuring Kendrick Lamar, and on Yo Gotti's album I Am on the track "Don't Come Around" as an artist and co-writer. She is currently working on her solo project to be released soon.

Bonnie Bishop's songwriting dream came true in early 2012 when her hero blues legend Bonnie Raitt recorded her song "Not Cause I Wanted To" (co-written with former NRBQ guitarist Big Al Anderson), earning Bishop her first Grammy and putting the Austin, Texas native on the map. Voted Song Of The Year by The New York Times, the song went on to gain national attention for the young artist when Raitt had this to say about her: "Bonnie Bishop is very special - I think she is going to be a big star."
In 2013, another of Bishop's songs made its TV debut when the hit show Nashville used "The Best Songs Come From Broken Hearts" for its star character Rayna's comeback performance at the Opry. A self-proclaimed road dog with a signature rasp, Bishop first became well-known for her dynamic live performances, making her living as a full-time touring act for well over a decade in clubs, theaters and festivals across the US and Europe and building a loyal fan base beside Americana greats such as Robert Earl Keen, Paul Thorn, Lee Roy Parnell, and Radney Foster.
In 2015, Bonnie proved that she was unafraid to reinvent herself with the launch of her brand new original series “Story & Song,” a unique storytelling experience that marries Bishop’s writing voice with her heartfelt songs of redemption and healing. This earned her an invitation to the prestigious MFA Creative Writing program at Sewanee University of the South this past summer, where she is now working towards her Master’s degree in Non-Fiction writing and developing a screenplay. Her Story&Song series is available exclusively on bonniebishop.com.
As of most recently, Bishop returned to the studio with Grammy Award winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson) to record her sixth album, a soul project. “Ain’t Who I Was” releases May 27, 2016 on Thirty Tigers (RED).

In an Internet world where anyone can create a Soundcloud account and upload music, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to break through the noise. In order to rise to the top, an artist either needs to be really good, really original, or really lucky – usually some combination of the three. LA-based experimental pop musician Ramsey fulfills the two former requirements. Over the past few months, hundreds of thousands of people have flocked to her Soundcloud to indulge in the enigmatic songstress’ music.
“2am” is Ramsey’s latest single, following “Slave” and “See You Bleed”—both of which were premiered in the past two months. Seductive and ghostly, "2am" draws life from the singer’s indelible voice. Somehow, she has both a smoker’s husk and the lithe command of an opera singer. The strange combination leads to an unsteadying listening experience that mirrors the woozy, Portishead-like trip-hop in the fore. There’s never any question of control, though. In slithering glissandos, Ramsey oscillates between vaporous and mighty, conjuring the beguiling effect of the siren.
“It’s 2am now, run the red light,” she urges, beckoning to us, asking us to break the rules. It’s easy to imagine her doing so in the corner of a darklit jazz club in the crevices of Los Angeles. She’s seated atop a stool in a crimson red dress, black hair and long eyelashes falling toward the floor. A trail of chains and roses recede away from her into the darkness; do you run the light? The fact that she even makes you think about it is testament enough to her skill. -MacEagon Voyce

When rumors of Disturbed's return began to surface last year, many wondered if the band would actually begin to write music and tour again. It had been almost 5 years since the release of "Asylum" and Disturbed had not toured together formally since 2011. Was this finally the news the Disturbed Ones were so eagerly awaiting? On June 23rd., 2015 the world awoke to a new single, "The Vengeful One" and news that the Disturbed was finally back together after a 4 year hiatus.
Sunday's SOLD OUT show at the House of Blues in San Diego could not come soon enough. To see an iconic band like Disturbed in such an intimate setting was going to be amazing. As I pulled up to park, I noticed a massive line of die-hard fans that wrapped around an entire city block. Fists were pumping, fans were screaming, and we were not even in the venue yet. If this rabid excitement was any indication of how the show would turn out, we were all in for a real treat that evening.
Disturbed hit the stage around 9:30 pm, and this capacity crowd of over 1200 went absolutely nuts as their opening video came to an abrupt and powerful end. The crowd pushed towards the stage as the lights went black and the band ripped into their opening song, "10,000 Fists". Fans were actually lifted off the floor as the crowd packed into the pit, fists clenched and pushed towards the sky - what an awesome sight to see! Over the next hour an a half, fans were treated to a high octane show that never saw a break in energy or intensity.
Whether you were with Disturbed back in 1997 or a newly minted fan today, there were songs for everyone. Classics like "Prayer", "Stricken", and the Genesis cover "Land of Confusion" laid the foundation for a 16 song set that far exceeded everyone's' expectations. The highlight of the night for me was a haunting rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel classic "The Sound of Silence". Simply epic. Disturbed then closed down the show with an encore consisting of "Voices" and "Down With the Sickness". Couldn't have been a more fitting way to end an incredible show!
Walking back to my car, I can honestly say that this may be one of the best concerts I have been to in recent memory. Disturbed band members Dave Draiman (Vocals), John Moyer (Bass), Dan Donegan (Guitar), and Mike Wengren (Drums) put on a spectacular show that is second to none. If you are lucky enough to see Disturbed on their "Immortalized" tour this year, you will no doubt see one of the most passionate and hardest rocking bands on the scene today.

Songbird Kat McDowell started the live set with her groovy pop shimmy, Draemings played a set that ripped us apart with their musical talons, RYN reminded us why birds do sing so gay and Gonzalla was the wings above the winds of melody. 3/21/2016

DRÆMINGS spent her early years reading dark fairy tales while listening to a warped cassette tape of Ace of Base's The Sign on repeat.
At 17, she ran away to San Francisco, where she was adopted by a gang of drag queens and street urchins. She embarked on a strange, magical adventure which included a short stint as a gangster rapper, a incubation period in India, and a heart-break fueled weekend that resulted in her writing 5 songs that would comprise her demo, and the birth of DRÆMINGS.
Her dark, powerful melodies, colorful lyrics and intense live show have drawn comparisons to the likes of Siouxsie , Bowie, Florence, and Chrissie.
Her eclectic full-length, The Eternal Lonesome, produced by Eric Palmquist (The Bad Suns, Trash Talk, Night Riots) will be released in Spring of 2016.

Spending his youth immersed in musical greats – particularly The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell and Bon Iver– the calibre of such influences has notably reflected throughout Gonzalla songwriting; elegant, beautiful and haunting. The new tracks are a taster of what to come for this great talent.
Cody grew up in Southern California where since his earliest memories his life revolved around the ocean. Surfnig was his first love and then came music not long after, for him the two have a strong and inevitable connection. Cody; ‘‘I think it shows in the songwriting whether it be the tone or esthetic my music has. I lived in a town called Huntington Beach near LA which is a wonderful place, I would surf in the morning and than later that evening go see groups perform in Hollywood, I had the best of both worlds.”
Having previously landed support slots for the likes of Dan Croll, Frances, and Stealing Sheep in the UK while honing his songwriting craft. Gonzalla has returned to US to tour throughout the year. Lead single, Come on Hun is available now.
Hunnypot Live! once again helped to seed the clouds of entertainment till they burst all over everyone in attendance.
Show #337 got started with Hot Tub Johnnie brought the quiet storms and monsoons with his eclectic DJ set. John Houlihan wrangled a twister full of energy and unleashed stories and music from his history as one of the most sought after music supervisors in the business.
The live music was thick with musical humidity: Grand Canyon started us off with Americana stories in harmonies, Wild! tamed us all with their sweet dewy melodies, Frankie stormed in from the great white north to sun shower us with their sounds, Deronda splashed us with puddles of jangle rock and Unavails rocked us like a hurricane. 3/07/2016

North Hollywood-based DERONDA began as a challenge lead singer/rhythm guitarist Gabe Hernandez assigned himself: write a new song every week. the native Angeleño, fed up with years of writer’s block, decided to isolate himself in his bedroom and force himself to be productive, regardless of the quality of the final songs. After several months work, Gabe started passing his demos among his friends, and the positive response he received encouraged him to turn his solo effort into a live project. With longtime friend, James Gordon Miller, joining him on drums, and Steven Petersen contributing on bass, the core of DERONDA took shape.
The sound of DERONDA aims to balance influences from synth-pop, art-rock, indie-pop, and psych, while building from a base of classic songwriting structure.
DERONDA, currently unsigned, are working on their first EP, scheduled to be released later this year.
Born in 70’s-era Detroit, singer-guitarist Andre Comeau grew up in a family of professional musicians. A childhood steeped in all genres of music fostered an instinctual understanding of melody and song. Andre has music in his blood.
In the early nineties, Andre’s band Reigndance (which also featured Dean Fertita, Queens of the Stoneage, The Dead Weather) ignited but quickly outgrew the burgeoning Detroit music scene. They relocated to New York, and shortly afterward Andre was chosen to be a cast member of MTV’s seminal reality show, The Real World. The show was an instant success; Andre and his band were afforded massive exposure. But after three records and extensive touring, Reigndance found themselves at a creative crossroads. They disbanded in 1997. Seeking new stimuli and fresh musical landscapes, Andre relocated to Los Angeles in the fall of 1997.
Andre turned to the folk music he grew up on and started releasing indie folk music under the band name, River Rouge (a reference to his father’s former employer, the Ford Motor Company, and the plant where they operated). River Rouge has released a handful of well received albums: their most recent EP, 2015’s “Building A Better Bomb”, garnered critical acclaim and positive reviews.
Andre Comeau returns to his musical roots in 2016 with UNAVAILS, a heavy rock band that features Darren Elpant on drums (10 Speed) and Matt Beal on bass. With a sound that toes the line between classic and cutting edge, UNAVAILS proves that guitar-rock can still be vital, original, and relevant in 2016. UNAVAILS are purveyors of passionate music that’s capable of seizing a listener both above and below the belt.
The lights are low and the music is loud; “it’s showtime!”. Hunnypot Live! #336 Kicked off and kicked out with jams right from the start. Flora Cash finished the live music portion with a beautiful acoustic set that mesmerized the party. The famous HP Dance Party finished the night with guest DJ Dew-Lord (Spencer Brown) and everyone had a really, really, really good time. 2/22/2016

Rock and roll isn't a sound. It's not an attitude. It's a need, it's a fight, it's the saving grace in the wake of a broken heart or something lost.
Down and Outlaws are a rock and roll band, pure and simple. Influenced by bands like The Stooges and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, you can call these San Franciscans dirty, bluesy, rootsy; it doesn't really matter, because all four members – Peter Danzig, Kyle Luck, Chris Danzig, and Jon Carr – are determined to put their stamp of rock and roll back on the map, literally and figuratively.
The band balances packed local performances with tour dates across the country. Over the past year, they've performed with Reignwolf, Cancer Bats, The Silent Comedy and Black Pistol Fire, picking up die-hard fans and media attention from Austin and Portland to Tucson and Los Angeles and beyond.
Their recent single, “Lay Me Down," convinced Carson Daly to book them on NBC's Last Call in May. With a new video for their second single, “I Don’t Care (I Don't Care),” and their upcoming debut album, Above Snakes, all signs point toward a breakout year in 2016.
These days, when rock and roll often survives in the shadows, the quartet's energy, authenticity, and blistering live performances are impossible to ignore or forget.
Down and Outlaws play because they’ve got no choice. Music has saved the D&O, and they hope to return the favor.

Purple Mountains Majesties is comprised of a bassist, a drummer, and four front men who switch off on every instrument they can afford to buy - all types of guitar, ukulele, keys, glockenspiel, flute, trumpet, melodica, recorder, and assorted percussion. Their heavenly three and four part harmonies and melodies bring to mind the sound of early Beach Boys and Beatles, but their inventive instrumentation and arrangements put them firmly at the forefront of the modern alternative scene populated by bands like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Hailing from the depths of Orange County, they were performing in a local raw food restaurant run by the renowned silent chef Ito (yes you read that right) where they were 'discovered' by former Oingo Boingo keyboardist, film composer, and record producer Richard Gibbs. Gibbs immediately brought them on board and began producing their debut album for his new recording venture, Invisible Arts.

Magic Wands are back with their highly anticipated sophomore album Jupiter.
Former Nashville electronic duo Chris and Dexy Valentine are currently residing in Los Angeles and have expanded their group, adding bassist Tommy Alexander and drummer Keith Crutchfield.
Chris and Dexy are following a different path for 2016 by foregoing their trademark electro-pop sound established with their Magic Love and Dreams EP and debut album Aloha Moon. According to the Valentines this was inspired by their desire to capture the feeling of early days of falling in love with playing instruments. Jupiter is Magic Wands sonic revolt against the cut and paste electronic age we reside in today—recorded live in the studio with minimum overdubs in only three days.
Since their debut record the Valentines have been studying the ancient art of “sound healing” and have applied this to their self-produced album Jupiter and live shows, tuning their instruments to 528 Hz—which is known in sound healing circles as the ”love" frequency. Magic Wands adhere to the mystic belief that the way of the future is using sound for healing.
The band first jumped into the spotlight with their dreamy pop songs and were one of the first to bring back a shoegaze sound with their Magic Love & Dreams EP recorded in New York City with producer John Hill (Santigold/Lykke Li) back in 2009.
The Valentines waved their magic wands and vanished until they appeared again in 2012 with their stunning Debut LP Aloha Moon which quickly garnished plenty of attention. Magic Wands jumped on everyones radar with their infectious singles “Space” and “Black Magic” which were both played on a wide array of national TV shows, commercials, movies, video games, and a run of dates opening for The Jesus and Mary Chain.
If you go see Magic Wands live and you will understand why they aren’t spreading themselves too thin. Their shows are drenched in haze and laser lights, with an hour of epic and dreamy sounds that will elevate you to the stars and make you dance.
Chris and Dexy Valentine look like they could have co/starred in a John Hughes film with their oversized Ray-bans that they haven't taken off since the beginning, and their music is best described as dark 80's dream pop mixed with shoegaze and the brighter side of falling in love.
Jupiter is a dance through the stars with beautiful lush and out-of-this-world sounds that the band dubs as “lovewave.”
Magic Wands will be performing at SXSW this year with a full US tour to follow.

We met on SoundCloud in early 2012 (where each of us had been posting music for some time). Our (for lack of a better term) “musical attraction” to one another quickly turned into something more and it wasn’t long before we began a “Skype relationship,” which lasted roughly five months. And by relationship, we really mean “relationship” in the fullest sense of the word… We were on Skype together as often as we possibly could be; morning ’til night and even that… never seemed enough. In June, 2012, Shpresa flew to Cole in Minneapolis, from Stockholm, and stayed until we returned to Sweden in August of the same year. It was in Sweden that Flora Cash; our ‘musical offspring,’ was truly born.
By the end of 2012, we had begun to collaborate with Swedish singer/songwriter and producer Daniel Westerlund/E GONE (formerly of The Goner) and had, with Daniel as our producer- released our “Mighty Fine EP,” which contained, among other tracks: “Mighty Fine” and “Summerset,” and at the same time (to our delight and amazement): had quickly begun to assemble a loyal bunch of listeners in and around Stockholm (and on YouTube where we currently have over 19,000 subscribers.)
While 2012 marked the crucial first steps of our musical journey- 2013 was a particularly big year for us. From several sold out shows in Stockholm to a three-month ‘mini-tour’ of London- (where we lived in a small room just under 2 miles south of Parliament)- 2013 saw us moving around constantly and playing any tavern, pub or venue we could find time for. 2013 also saw the release of an EP, “Made It For You.” The EP features, among others: “Freakin’ Love” and “When You Came (Oh Oh Oh).”
In July of 2013 we moved to Minneapolis where we lived for approximately a year. It was during that year together in the states that we decided to get married, take a road-trip-honeymoon to LA and begin work on the next chapter of Flora Cash. Since moving back to Stockholm in June of 2014, we have released the ‘I Will Be There’ EP, four singles (Snow, Lights, Save Me, This Breeze and Shout It Out Loud) and early in 2015 we signed to Stockholm based boutique label: Icons Creating Evil Art.
We are currently wrapping up a new Mini-LP, to be released in early 2016.

Morello is British born, L.A-based songwriter/producer Malcolm 'Sir Mal' Cross' (drummer for Pete Yorn/The Olms, Minibar and Spiritualized) solo endeavor, on which he teamed up with Japanese multi-instrumentalist Masaru Mitsu (Chocolat, Northern Light, Cymbals), for his third effort, The Duellists. The project stemmed from a shared interest in obscure guitar bands and 80's synth-pop, which later transformed into a long-distance online friendship that would diminish any cultural boundaries, and resulted in an eclectic, yet tasteful mix of catchy songs about modern life and love.

Miranda Lee Richards is a gifted Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter. Born in San Francisco after the summer of love and before the dawn of disco, she grew up in an artistic and bohemian environment that has informed her adult life and work. Her parents are well-known underground comic book artists Ted and Terre Richards, R. Crumb being their most infamous contemporary.
After graduating from the San Francisco School Of The Arts, she travelled to Paris to model, but soon returned to the U.S. to pursue a musical career. A series of chance encounters with influential people began when she became friends with Kirk Hammet from Metallica, who taught her to play guitar. Early demos of her songs reached the ears of Anton Newcombe, and she soon joined his band The Brian Jonestown Massacre. She sang on their early albums Give It Back, Bringing It All Back Home Again, and Stung Out In Heaven, and appeared with them in the seminal documentary DIG!.
In 2001, Virgin Records released her full-length debut album The Herethereafter. The record was a mix of folk, psychedelia, country and indie pop, and generated fans worldwide, especially in Japan where the single “The Long Goodbye” reached the top five.
Her critically acclaimed sophomore album Light of X, the title of which came from a dream about harnessing beams of light to travel in time, followed in 2009 via Nettwerk Records. The music was a progression from the template laid out on her debut, anticipating the symphonic pop music that came later with the likes of Anna Calvi and Agnes Obel.
Richards’ latest album, Echoes Of The Dreamtime, was recorded at her home studio with husband and producer Rick Parker (best known for his work with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Lord Huron). It brings together eight pastoral, atmospheric epics into a work that is her most impressive yet. Echoes of the Dreamtime focuses on a lyrically narrative style, with many of the songs counting in at over five minutes, with four and five verses a-piece. One song, the eight-minute track “It Was Given” (based on the movie The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke), is an example of an adaptation put to song.
As Richards states, “So much of our experience lies within the realm of the subconscious, influencing our outer realities. When we realize we have control over our offering to the world, we begin to examine the subconscious and have a conversation with it, instead of being ruled unknowingly by it. Contained therein are themes of self-discovery, transformation, and grappling with the duality between dark and light within ourselves and society. The literal use of Space Echo throughout the album is reflective of the theme: it’s subtle and beautiful and repeats until we listen.”
Echoes Of The Dreamtime comes out worldwide via London-based indie Invisible Hands Music on January 29, 2016.

Indie/atmospheric post rock outfit, Alisal, is the culmination of Tristan Dolce's (vox/guitar/piano) fascination with the forgotten stories of 19th century Los Angeles. 8 years of writing and over 3 dozen demos later, the band (Jason Sibucao, Patrick Clancy, and Gabe Baker) came together to begin work on debut record Arroyoan (in 2 parts) in the band-built studio in Los Angeles in the spring of 2015. Arroyoan Part I is out now, with Part II to be released spring 2016.

Dstnce is a 2-piece electronic group based out of Los Angeles, CA creating experimental, bass-driven tracks with an ambient and melodic overtone reminiscent of the early days of Massive Attack fused with Kiasmos out of Iceland. Classically-traineddrummer/producer, Clinton Van Arnam and LA singer/keyboardist, Melanie deJesus, formed dstnce in 2013 after a chance meeting brought the two together through the discovery of their mutual affinity for a wide range of influences from Nicolas Jaar and Aphex Twin to Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and Beach House.
To follow the 2015 release of their debut EP, DRUGS, dstnce draws inspiration from their travels as they continue to write and evolve, steadily working towards an audio/visual performance and more mini EP releases in 2016.
Boy oh boy, we had one hell of a show! A stacked line up with good times rollin' all throughout! Our resident DJ Hot Tub Johnnie open with Bowie's posthumous single, then dropped classic old and new. Guest DJ Bryan Bonwell popped into the Hot Tub for an interview and a bumpin' "get to know me" DJ mix for everyone to party to. After that the illusive Adam Finkel a.k.a. Alek Fin took a seat in the hot tub to talk about his new EP and live show. Red Bull Records brought in New Beat Fund who packed the house full of people and killed it on their Hunnypot return. Alek Fin's entrancing set plus LACES signature sound made for an incredible night. The always amazing Polaris Rose WOWed us and last but not least, the return of Diwon and his brother from another mother, Brooklyn rapper ePhryme. Heavenly times indeed. 1/25/2016
Bryan Bonwell speaks the language of music—and communicates as naturally and effectively with the music makers as the music users. That unique talent has enabled him to carve a niche for himself as a successful music supervisor in the extremely competitive and challenging LA film and TV music world.
Bonwell’s career began as an intern at Dilbeck Entertainment, and upon finishing his internship, Michael Dilbeck gave him the opportunity to stay on as a full time employee. While at Dilbeck Entertainment he worked on and has been credited as Music Consultant, Associate Music Supervisor, or Music Supervisor on an impressive list of wide release feature films, including “The Waterboy,” “Big Daddy,” “Scary Movie,” “Little Nicky,” “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo,” “The Master of Disguise,” “Joe Dirt,” “The Animal,” “Anger Management,” “Mr. Deeds,” “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star,” “The Longest Yard,” “50 First Dates,” “Grandma’s Boy,” “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” “Strange Wilderness,” “Benchwarmers,” “Grown Ups,” “Just Go With It,” “Jack & Jill,” the up and coming “That’s My Boy,” and “Grown Ups 2”. He also has worked on the TV shows "Freaks and Geeks," and "Undeclared."
Most recently he has gone out on his own and has supervised the indie movie “The Frontier,” which was just picked up for distribution, as well as documentaries “Ivory Tower (CNN),” “Thought Crimes: The Case of the Cannibal Cop (HBO),” and just wrapped “The First Monday In May” featuring Rihanna. He is also finishing up on the Happy Madison/Netflix movie “The Do Over.”
Bonwell is also a songwriter himself—and has co-written countless songs for film and television. He’s co-owned BZEE ROC Music Group, LLC since 2005, a music publishing company in which has worked with select talented songwriters to assist in getting placements in film and television.
From the very inception of BZEE ROC in 2005, Mark Fried and Peter Shane (Spirit Music Group) took a chance and saw value in the catalog and ears of Bonwell and began to administer the catalog. It has been a very successful pairing both in business and personally.
In 2014 Spirit Music entered into a JV with Future Hits, a one-stop easy clear brand. Spirit was looking for the right person to look out for their interest as well as build a high quality catalog from scratch, and Bonwell was Spirit’s natural choice. Later in 2014 about 6 months after Future Hits was off the ground and running, Bonwell was brought in to work in the new Spirit Music LA Office alongside David Renzer to also work the Spirit Catalog. Today he juggles working both catalogs as well as finds time to still work with the Happy Madison team.
No matter how much work he has to do, or how crazy things can get. Not a day goes by he doesn’t realize how lucky he is to be in this industry doing what he loves to do and working with such talented and amazing people.
New Beat Fund birthed when a piggy bank with the words “New Beat Fund” encrypted on it was catapulted into the facade of a corporate building. No joke. Somewhere in that transaction it became apparent a jar full of “fuck you’s” and “I owe you’s” would no longer lend it’s help to an artist. So we started our own fund; no debts to the bullshit, just a direct deposit from your’s truly and the people who vibe what it is we’re doing. And what exactly are we doing? We’re letting our music run free, streaking down the beach, nuts hangin’ in the Cali breeze, smokin’ Cali trees. We shimmy shimmy to the sounds of the Timby, some Red Chili, Slim Shady, and one Foxy ass Lady. Reppin’ real music flowin’ from an honest place. Keepin’ true to who we are, how we’re feeling, what we’re seeing around us and the way we react to it. Everything New Beat Fund is done 100% by New Beat Fund. Burnie Baker, Fat Snapz Lalib, Buttonwill McKill, and Silky Johnson. No need for specificity. So vibe some tunes, whether you’re coolin’ with your gurl or partying with your friends, this is for you. Have a good time, that’s what we’re doing.

"Handled with taut precision, the 20 minutes that encompass OceanSongs; veer in different directions, even if functions as a cohesive whole - songwriters Peter Anthony and Madelynn Elyse have an undeniable chemistry as they craft their pop-infused melodies, which can at times be simple and elegant and other times dynamically complex with an almost progressive slant”

"As a little girl, I remember sitting in front of the television screen, watching Whitney Houston's music video for the song, I Want To Dance With Somebody. I was in total amazement, and as she sang, "...and as the night falls, my lonely heart calls", chills surged through my whole body. At 3 years old, I remember thinking to my self, "I wanna do THAT!!!" I've been chasing that dream ever since.
Whenever I found the opportunity to sing, to dance...to perform, I was there without hesitation. For me, every moment of radio play became an excuse for an impromptu, solo music video, which, of course, drove my mother insane. She would ask, "Kiki, who is this singing on the radio right now?". I'd reply, "Ummm...it's Michael Jackson", and she'd say, "Good, let's let HIM sing it then, shall we?". There was no denying I had caught the entertainment bug". ~Ketiana~
Born the daughter of two young parents, both performers in their own Reich (Her mother, a Creative Artist /Dancer; and her father, a Song Writer, Singer and Pop-lock Dancer), one might say entertainment ran in the blood. At age 3, her mother married her step-father (A U.S. Marine), which would be the premise for the following two decades raised in the Military Family lifestyle; moving every three years, but primarily residing in Southern California until the age of 10, when her step-father was relocated to the island of Oahu. Prior to moving to Hawaii, Ketiana had only experienced the basics of music theory, learning to play the flute in her elementary school band. When she moved to Hawaii, music seemed to be a big part of the culture, and they had classes and after-school activities available to take full advantage of. She began to learn piano, joined the school's choir, glee club, and community theater. She also performed in many talent shows and showcases. There, is where she would hone her skills and expand her musical influences. She returned to the mainland at the age of 14 with a greater appreciation for music and the confidence to pursue her dreams wholeheartedly. However, at this point in life, turmoil made its appearance within her family and personal life. In the midst of the storm, she found comfort in writing her own songs.
At age 19, Ketiana went on her own and headed straight for the stars. She packed all her belongings and moved to Hollywood. Wasting no time, she began auditioning immediately, being featured on films, commercials and television shows like Date My Mom, Next, 12 Corazones, American Idol, X-Factor, Making the Band 3, The Bad Girls Club Reunion, TRL, Dreamgirls, Punkrose Shoes, LATalkLive, and many more!
Recently, Ketiana was featured on songs for hiphop artist Aone and many songs for RealProduktRecords Artist, Philo. Currently she will be releasing her debut EP, "Dirty 30", in spring of 2016: A combination of Neo-Soul/R&B/Pop tracks written about the 30-year life-journey she took to becoming the talented woman she is today.
